Vegan Blackberry pop tarts are surprisingly not basic. The coating they have it's good. And there's enough filling inside is deliciously. Definitely a gourmet version of generic poptarts. Lavender London Fog is heavenly. Customer service is fantastic. The lady working greeted me a smile each time. Very consistent in customer service. She has lots of patience and speaks with clarity. A super cute coffee shop/small bar right in downtown Culpepper. Me and my sister wanted to grab a coffee after eating lunch on a roadtrip and this was the perfect place. We both got iced coffees which is our go to. The iced coffee was super smooth and yet I could tell the beans were roasted well. The shop had a variety of hot and cold lattes, teas, and smoothies on the menu but I was super impressed to see cocktails and a few beer taps as well. Visited the area with a friend group for a weekend getaway and decided to stop by here before our road trip home and I'm so glad we did! Small, homey space with natural lighting and lots of plants. Very welcoming to see individuals inside working on their art or computer. I had a regular caramel latte and tried the bread pudding. SOOOO YUMMY. I didn't think I would find a high quality coffee shop while visiting Culpeper, but I'm so glad Raven's Nest provided the perfect option! I came in on a rainy weeknight. Street parking only, but I got lucky with a spot right in front of the building. I was working on a creative project so I figured--what the heck, let's get a beer. I was glad to see they had a small but unique draft selection to include cold brew and kombucha! Everything was east coast but I don't think anything was particularly local. I wished they had a small menu to look at but the lady helping me read the options. I chose a prickly pear beer which was super tasty. They have ample seating and strong WiFi. The atmosphere reminded me of my favorite coffee shop from living in Colorado, which made it feel like home immediately. Visited today for the first time with my teen daughter and we had a fabulous time. it is a cozy and beautiful cafe with outstanding customer service. We had avocado toast and sausage sandwich and they were delicious. My hot tea somehow tasted so special and the barista was so kind to bring the tea to my table promptly since I asked her that I don't like to keep my tea bag in the cup for too long. I was here for the first time today with my boyfriend after he recommended it! We both did work for an hour or so while sipping on our lattes, which were amazing with the perfect strength and a nice balance of sweetness. The service we received was exceptional and the interior design of the coffee house was very comforting and welcoming. As a person with a lot of social anxiety, I often restrain myself from going out to do work or going into new places. Coming here made me so happy to let myself face my fears, and it was really rewarding to have such a sweet first experience. I look forward to coming back here in the future and think it could be one of my favorite downtown places! I'm new in the area and the staff here made everything seem a little more homely and familiar. My one hope is that in the future there are more vegan options in regards to their baked goods. I'm vegan and would love to be able to get a coffee along with a bagel with vegan butter or a small muffin! This place is so cute, what a little neighborhood gem. The women working here were making items in their little kitchenette in back and selling them upfront. We only care here for tea and coffee but after stepping inside I could see that was a big mistake. Fresh quiche coming out of the oven, homemade pastries. My boyfriend had a coffee, it wasn't the best he's ever had but it was ok. I had one of their many high quality teas which was delicious, they even kept topping off my hot water. This place has a family feel like you're going to get food and drinks from one of your family members. If we are in the area we will come here again, I would like to try their baked goods next time. We visited for some desperately needed caffeine before a 2 hour drive down to South of Charlottesville. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out where the coffee shop was - as the last time I visited in 2013 - the coffee shop was on the opposite side of the street. Its since moved across the street. The place was very busy and there was a good line to order coffee. The one thing I will ding them on is how long it took to take each person's order. When I got up to the register, I ordered a large iced coffee with room for cream. Checking in on Yelp gave me 10% off my coffee order. I asked if they accepted Apple Pay. They currently do not. This would have been a 5 star review except for my experience today. I started going to Raven's Nest because they were open when their local competitors were not during the pandemic. I always received friendly and fast service and the place has a great atmosphere. Today, the staff was very friendly. However, they gave me hot coffee instead of iced coffee. I didn't say anything. I figured I'd give it a try. I let the coffee cool an hour in my cars cup holder. Their hot cups start falling apart after an hour. I ended up with coffee all over me, my wife and the inside of my car. In summary, they didn't give me what I ordered and they made a sticky mess all over my car. Once the l quarantine restrictions are lifted and business returns to normal i likely won't go back to Raven's Nest since their main competition in town always gives me what I order and I don't have to clean up a mess after doing business with them. read more

We were in town for a wedding and ended up here both mornings. We are self admittedly coffee snobs so anytime we can try somewhere new that isn't a chain we are ecstatic. The coffee was great. I love the multitude of extras to add to your drink. I tried the cold brew one morning and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was. We are sober so we didn't try any of the alcoholic drinks/specials but they seemed the be very popular. My husband had a breakfast sandwich and said it was very good. Drove off the highway on a road trip to stop for hole in the wall coffee that was perceived to be good by its patrons. This establishment boasts a wide array of interesting coffee flavorings, so we decided to try two uncommon flavored lattes, one of which was even labeled a "local favorite." We tried the gingerbread latte and nutty Irishmen, two incredibly different flavor profiles, and yet I couldn't determine which drink was meant to match which flavor. One of the drinks (couldn't tell you which flavor) actually tasted rancid, and wound up in the trash after a mere two sips, soon to be joined by the second watered down, yet burnt, latte. If you're looking for a simple cup of coffee, this might be the place for you, but if you want anything beyond that, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more
