Only place I take my art to be framed, excellent customer service, high quality and locally owned. I've been here 5 times to have original art framed and a repair of an existing framed piece, all came out great. The pieces range from small (4x6) to medium (24x36) size, color, black and white, even two sided (hand made card). She methodically walked me through all the elements of the frame, considering my budget, style, even what other art is in my house! I brought in a two-sided handmade card, and brought home a piece I can flip to show one side or the other, great problem solver! She is great with repairs too. I piece fell and the glass broke, good as new. I just had the smallest piece framed and she guided me through the process and it is great! Hands down, the best framers in Sacramento. When they say "museum quality," they mean it! This is where the city's top artists (and museums) bring their stuff. It's located in a small corner shop on 10th Street, far from the bustle of most Midtown framers. A few things you should know: First, don't expect to walk in and out of here in less than 15 minutes. The owners treated even a $10 poster I got on eBay like it's a masterpiece, spending plenty of time showing you options to how to make it look great. On a budget? Let them know, and they'll work around it. Want your art to be the focus of your home? They'll ask you about your home's style, colors, and what's around whatever they're framing. The result is some stunning framing options that will get your friends asking, "where did you get that framed?" (and seriously, has ANYBODY ever asked you that about anything in your house?!?). A warning: quality doesn't come cheap. I've had several pieces done here where the frame cost more than the art (and the art wasn't cheap). But in the end it's worth it. So support his local business, particularly if you've splurged on some nice art to begin with. read more

This shop is truly as good as it gets! First, I love vintage posters! A couple of years ago I bought three posters at trunk show in Santa Monica, but they ended up rolled up in a closet as we moved from Los Angeles to Sacramento. When the dust had settled and the boxes were unpacked, they stayed in a new closet. I know how important framing can be to protect older prints, and I wasn't in a rush to take these to an Aaron Brothers or other bulk framing store. Finally, I contacted the dealer who sold me the posters, and they told me there was only one framer in Sacramento they would recommend: Raven's Corner. I finally stopped by two months ago with the posters under my arm and ready to look at frames. The exterior door was locked and a small sign said appointments were available for weekdays. As I hadn't made an appointment, I rang the bell with trepidation. I shouldn't have worried. The owner opened the door immediately and helped my wife and I sort through the posters and select frames. She had a good eye for details and considered our budget in each decision. We selected three very different frames and left happy with our choices. Raven's Corner called us three days before they had promised to return the posters to say that they were completed. I picked them up the next day. The workmanship in each frame was exquisite. Since the shop is the neatest work space I've ever seen, I shouldn't have been surprised. Each poster was complemented by its frame and balanced nicely. The owner walked me through the various hangers she had provided and proper care for the glass. I can't wait to get more posters so I can return. read more

Museum quality framing with great customer service. Had a few unique pieces of artwork that were done by a friend that lives in France. Was worried about having them framed/one re-framed. After a long search decided to give this place a try. They actually have done framing for the Crocker Art Museum. My art was not nearly as valuable but did have high sentimental value so I had been putting it off for years. Owner spent considerable time helping to select the different ways to display the items and framing options. You can tell she likes doing what she does and is good at it. I recently bought a watercolor painting and wanted to get a nice frame for it. After a bad experience at one of the big bulk framing stores and not wanting to risk such an experience with the painting, I decided to give this place a try. I stopped by on a Saturday morning with pretty much no idea what I wanted other than that I wanted it to look nice. The owner picked out some frame samples in colors and patterns I would never have thought to look at myself, one of which I fell in love with. I recently picked it up and it is beautiful--the frame brings out details of the painting and makes it look even more lovely. They also wrapped it nicely in a waterproof bag and put cardboard on the top and bottom to make it easier to wrap. Seriously, what more could you ask for? Raven's Corner is amazing! I had a unique memento, a hand painted scarf from Bali, that I wanted to have framed. It was a challenging job, since it was fabric and very delicate. Susan helped me pick out the perfect frame and matting. Not only did she happily spend a good deal of time showing me sample after sample, her taste level is excellent. This store is so wonderful and client friendly! I needed a piece of inexpensive artwork matted, and I had gone to Aaron Brothers for an estimate. I wanted to check one more place before committing, so I went to Raven's Corner. The owner immediately greeted me and was so friendly. Honestly, I was a little nervous to take in such a small, inexpensive project to a museum quality framing shop, but the owner immediately made me feel comfortable and paid as much attention to me as I believe she would have to anyone else. She helped me pick out the perfect matting for my piece, and she was much more affordable than what Aaron Brothers quoted me. I will be coming back here for all my pieces - big and small! Raven's Corner was recommended by a friend. So, off I went to see the shop. When I arrived, the owner was very nice but also very busy with a customer and asked me to return an hour later. Happily that was OK by me. Upon my return, the owner spent quality time with me deciding on framing ideas for a poster. Her ideas were fabulous but never pushy. Instead she worked hard to help me discover how I wanted to frame the piece. My husband and I have been back 3 times since then, each time with wildly different art and our different approaches. Each time we came away with the perfect frame. Costs vary depending on your taste and framing materials that you select. The owner will guide you if cost is an issue. I made an appointment and took our very special and unique project to her. My first impression was right---she knew exactly how to frame the items in the best possible way and helped us work it all out. We ordered the frame (shadow box style) and everything she would need and made an appointment to have the work done. When the framing materials arrived we took everything to her and by the end of the day she had created a truly beautiful display of our treasures. Believe it or not, I cried when I saw it.
