Wanted to try this pizza shop for a while and finally came on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty empty, with only 1 other table besides us. Got cheese, and prosciutto & arugula slices. They are decent but not as good as my favorite for roman style pizza - Bonci in Chicago ( I know it's not that helpful since Chicago is so far away). Service was great and I appreciate the young lady serving the gelato splitting my gelato order into a cup for adults and a cup for kid. I've been coming to Ravenna Pizza for a while and have never had an issue before today. I walked in wanting to order two slices of pizza, only to be told that I couldn't just get 2--I had to buy a minimum of 4 total. ​What a joke. Why do you even have slices of pizza on display if you don't sell single slices? If you want to be like Rome, just sell it by weight then! Arbitrary rules like this ruin what used to be a reliable spot. So I walked out. I guess this will be the last time I walk over for a quick bite to eat. 2 slices and a scoop of gelato for $14!!! Genuinely delicious food for a great price these days. The Dolce Inferno (pepperoni pizza with burrata and hot honey) was amazing. Crispy crust with an airy texture, perfect balance between spicy and sweet. The stracciatella was good, but the base was a little sweeter and not as milk based as what you'd expect from a traditional stracciatella (if that's what you're looking for). Dolce Romano this time! I used my Target receipt to save $2 on my order. Their vanilla gelato is simple, rich and tasty. So don't feel like you have to rush through your slice to get to the gelato before it melts. No worries, the gelato takes its time and boasts a nice velvety finish when your slice is done. This is very casual order and sit down spot but also has a really cute small bar with a large tv screen to watch sports. The thick Roman style pizzas are delicious! The pizza here is delicious and fresh. I loved reading that they are a Roman inspired pizzeria. My favorite slice of the two we got was the pesto chicken. The single slices are large and they cut them in two. I chose the supreme and it was also very tasty. They heat up the slice after you order it. We got the gelato combo and I thought it was the perfect meal. Hubby got cherry and dark chocolate gelato and I got the lemon and vanilla. Both were so tasty. The vanilla was divine. At first glance I didn't know what to expect for this new location next to the target on Wilson. I had walked by the big glass windows a number of times, but it did not stand out. I'm so glad I stepped in, the pizza was wonderful. While pre-made, it was cooked to our order and brought right to the table. Mortadella Focaccia has a great flavor but for the price has very little substance. All of the burrata and pistachio was in the middle of a single layer of mortadella between two huge pieces of focaccia. The bread is crispy outside and soft inside. Ravenna Pizza is not your typical pizza place. Its pizzas entail thin crusts, square shapes, and unique toppings. You cannot go wrong with any topping but our favorite was the Prosciutto and Arugula. However, the squares slices feel smaller in serving size compared to your typical pizza slices so we went for another order. I should always take the advice of gelato makers. If the gelato isn't covered, it's not real gelato. Ravenna's gelato is graining and doesn't have that normal texture of simple gelato. This pizza is DELICIOUS! service was very nice. 2 slices for 8.00 or so. well worth it. Ate one there and asked them to not heat up the other so I could take it home and heat it up slowly in a skillet. Both slices were crispy and fluffy and chewy. Joined a group of women at this relatively new pizza spot for a weekend lunch & I was pleased. It was a comfortable atmosphere where the music doesn't play too loud so we could hear each other talk & laugh! pizza is delicious, customer service is great, but they really need to install an automated door opener (like the Target store on the other side of the same building). The entrance door is large, heavy, and only opens outward, so you have to pull it very hard. The elderly, people with disabilities, or injuries have a hard time pulling it open. I saw this place with the light-up sign so that caught my attention so we decided to go there. We ended up getting 3 slices which were around $7 a piece. I would say they were solid roman style pizzas and that might be the only place around where you can get that by the slice. I would say out of the roman porchetta, prosciutto e argula, and the amatriciana 2.0, the prosciutto one was the best. We also got the pistacchio and ricotta slice of cake, which was amazing but it was $10 so that is hard to justify for a slice. They also have a bar with happy hour but I did not see anything on the menu talking about that. This might also be the only place in Arlington to get a lot of options of gelato so I would definitely go back for that. read more

Returned today for pizza...delicious! We tried the Amatriciana, the Margherita and the mushroomm with truffle oil. I'm not a pizza fan...too heavy and filling. But this Roman pizza crust is so light, crunchy and chewy at the same time. The toppings are all fresh and beautifully prepared. The location is somewhat of a parking challenge...we'd love to have one closer to falls church....but that doesn't dissuade us...this is the way pizza should taste.... A welcome addition to the neighborhood. Many different options to choose from. I chose the Margherita. The crust was good; thick in some parts, thin in others. I'd describe the crust as a cross between Sicilian (square) pizza and foccacia. It could have used a little more sauce as it was dry from sitting in the case. Two strikes against them though. They used regular block mozzarella instead of fresh mozzarella. That caught me by surprise since Margherita is always made with fresh mozzarella. Second, the pizza was hardly warm. They need to heat it for a longer period of time. I suggest telling them you want it extra hot. A+ for presentation though. I would go back and give them another chance. And ask for it extra hot! Also, be prepared for some sticker shock. Slices are about $7. read more

New pizza place in Rosslyn! The restaurant looked very new and sleek when we walked in and were immediately greeted by welcoming staff. You can pick however many slices you want or get a whole pie. We got a few slices and initially you pick your slice then they cut each slice in two so it's easier to eat. These are square slices, not triangles! We got the crystal city 2.0, a pepperoni pizza with hot honey on it and the beef lovers slice. All were pretty good and we were super full after.
