My wife's 2018 VW Passat was burning about 5qts of oil every thousand miles, and only warm air blew on the driver's side of her vehicle. The entire time we have owned this car, it has only been serviced at VW dealerships. When she got her last oil change at VW, I asked about the high oil consumption, and the answer I received was that the car just does that now. It's old, so it will burn more oil. If VW is telling me this, I could not help but accept this as fact. With the weather turning cold, I brought her car to somewhere closer to home to address the heating issue. I selected Mundelein Tire and Service via Yelp based on the reviews and proximity. I explained the problems and dropped the car off at 8 a.m. I dealt with Steve, who was very personable, professional, and an excellent communicator. When I picked up my vehicle at 4 p.m. the same day, I spoke with Steve and talked to the mechanic who worked on my car. I was treated with a show and tell of the parts removed from my car and immediately felt I brought my vehicle to the right place. The excessive oil consumption issue was addressed by replacing a faulty PCV valve/oil separator. My spark plugs were also coated in oil due to the faulty PCV valve. The passenger side temperature control actuator that directs the airflow on the passenger side was completely seized. When I received my car, I was shocked by the immediate difference in how it drove. We had been driving with diminished power for so long that we had just gotten used to the lack of acceleration. The day before I brought the vehicle in, I had added 5 quarts of oil. Instead of charging me for an oil change, Steve suggested I just change the oil filter. Overall, my car is driving like new again, and the cabin is nice and toasty inside. I received a greatly appreciated discount on the labor due to my military service. I have found where I will bring my vehicle for all my repairs and maintenance needs. Thank you again to Steve and the team; you've earned my appreciation and business for the foreseeable future.

I needed to get an oil change and the prices are decent here while the service is pretty good so I knew I wouldn't go anywhere else. While changing my oil, Dan and the tech, Nikolai, were able to find some other issues including my brakes, egr valve gasket and camshaft plug. They were honest with me regarding what they found and gave me a decent price without tryin to run me up which I appreciated. Overall, they did a great job with my car and they didn't try to push unnecessary work to be done on my car. I will continue to use them and I would highly recommend everyone else to as well. I should of known better. When i got home they mounted one of the tires over a sticker. Clear as day you can see the sticker just hanging there between the rim and tire. When i took it back i was greeted like I was a karen who has high standards. Like there's a sticker stuck between the tire and rim. I told the guy it might leak, he kept saying it wont leak. Im not saving its leaking im saying it might leak at the very least thats shitty work. I see all the employees gathering around shaking their head like im unreasonable. Bringing my car back cause they mounted my rim over a tire that might leak and would make it unsafe unreasonable? No apologies for the inconvenience either. They just tried to make it seem like I was just being to picky. Also i would like to mention the sticker wasnt on the tire when I brought it (I brought my own tires) the sticker came from the shop. They also wanted me to pay to redo the tire. Does that make any sense. They didnt install my tire correctly the 1st time, I had to waste time coming back up there, was greeted unprofessionally when their the one that messed up, never got an apology, now I have to pay to redo it? Not sure how they run this business but this is unacceptable and I use to work in the car industry. I would of never written this review if they would of just fix the issue at hand without the attitude. I understand mistakes happens but its how you deal with it thats gets you repeat customers.
