The guys at Autofix were great. I had a problem with the exhaust on my 2004 TSX. They repaired the problem at a very fair price. I pretty much paid the going rate for labor (from what i understand, the parts needed were minimal). What I appreciate was the customer service. They gave me an explanation as to the problem with my car, and also gave two options to remedy the problem. Bottom line is my car is running whisper quiet again. Had an apt at 8am for rotor and brake replacement on just rear axle on a pickup truck, a quick standard job that takes under 2 hours, I just didn't have time to do it myself. I waited there 1 hour and truck was still not pulled into a bay. There were 4 mechanics doing nothing with all bays full of cars not being worked on. I told the useless clerk give me my keys I'm going else where. An easy $300 sale lost along with a customer that's never going back. Poor management and worthless service if the place cannot even handle a basic brake job with a scheduled appointment. Toyota dealer did it in 1.5 hours for $200. Avoid this place, not worth the hassle. read more

I could not give a better Yelp review on any auto shop, store, restaurant... you name it. I'd drive out of my way, even with a malfunctioning car to see these guys. Why? Because this place takes the cake, cuts it up, and serves it to you, that's why. I have had the same car for over ten years, and the more I come here, the more I trust them. Yes, I can recall over half the employees by name, but other than getting to know them on a personal level I've obviously come to trust them and their work. They not only repair my car for great prices, but they've helped me be more knowledgable about cars, "jimmied" my car when funds were low on my end, makes sure I understand the issue and all options before I make a decision on a repair, they've given me special pricing that I would NOT have found anywhere in the state of Illinois, and above all, they will be honest and not rip you off... which equals a much nicer version of myself. So, it goes without saying that these guys will be patient and courteous on top of fixing your car. But seriously, I can't stress enough that they will never rip you off. I've never been cheated out of money in the ten+ years I've been coming here. And trust me when I say they would have done so, because most auto shops will do it the very first chance they get. I currently live in Michigan but last month I traveled to Chicago to look at a number of different used vehicles that I had found online. After finding what I thought was the perfect car and having my car-savvy boyfriend look it over, I took it to AutoFix for a vehicle inspection before I paid for it and took it back home to Michigan. First of all, this company made me a priority and did everything they could to get the vehicle in the shop within my time restraints- which they did. They were extremely friendly and very accommodating. What really impressed me, however, was the technician (Steve) that we worked with and the time he spent with us and my potential vehicle. He took about 45 minutes to an hour looking the vehicle over then called me personally to explain every detail. Not only that, but he actually took another half hour with me showing me exactly what he was talking about. Steve was more thorough and knowledgeable about vehicles then most mechanics I've come across, and my boyfriend agreed. In addition to all of the great customer service, they have amazing coupons! Google them. When I went in they were charging $30.00 for a vehicle inspection, but they also have coupons for free inspections as well. I wish this business was located where I live. We had some nasty weather a couple weeks ago, sloppy snow and ice. I was on my way to work and my low tire light went on and was beeping. Was driving by Auto Fix and pulled in. They right away pulled me in an empty bay, checked and filled my tires. They even replaced the cap on one that was missing. NO CHARGE! And I was on my way. Fantastic service. Do not come here alone as a women, just do not come here at all. You will be treated as if you don't know anything. I came here to fix my alignment, I left with a window not working. I came back 10.mins later to have the Manager tell me it just coincidentally happens and tried to slap me with a $500 bill for the computer inside the door panel. I called the police to come to the shop since he wanted to become Irrate with me and blame me. My car was fine, I just needed a alignment. I found out the manager told the police while I was getting a report done, that there was already something wrong with my window! A piece of mu bumper underneath came undone with all the snow. Thought is was my brake pads so headed over to get it fixed. Not only did they fix the bumper issue, they also filled my tires and cleaned my windows all for no charge! Needless to say, this is now where I will get all of my car issues taken care of. I was in a bind on a Sunday and was looking for a decent repair shop that was open. Which isn't many on Sunday. I stopped at another shop and they stated that I needed over 1000 worth of repairs, and it wouldn't be able to get done today. Auto fix was down the street so I took a chance. I am glad I did and will be a lifelong customer. The mechanic Victor told me what was needed and told me other things that weren't necessary at the time. This day could have gone a lot worse. It all started with coming in because of a tire leak. The tire got really low a couple days ago and after filling it, it was back to being almost flat. I called a handful of places in the area for a quote of a tire patch, before settling here. This place was $10 less than competition, Yay! After arriving, I was greeted with, "How can we help you today." They were going to look when repairing the hole if I shredded the sidewall of the tire. They rolled it into the shop to swap out for the spare. When my spare was put on the car, a leak started near the air stem. They took care of the stem repair free and any labor cost to throw on the spare, as there was a good chance I might have to buy a new tire from the damage. So as the spare was being removed to fix the leak, the wheel stems and lugs snapped off. Great just great, can things get any worse. Instead, the workers and I were joking about how something so simple has turned from bad to worse. The stems and lugs were rusty and I don't blame the tech. By this time the older gentleman was getting ready to go home and offered to drive me home as I wait for repairs. The address he knew about was in mount prospect as I live with the gf in palatine. Yet, he still offered as it would be on his way home. The whole experience was "can life throw anything more at me?" This all happened with closing time two hours away. Worried I was going to be without a car and two shifts coming up later in the night. They quickly got the parts from another store and repaired everything while I was at home. To top it off, they threw in a coupon for $10. So in total, I just paid for a tire patch and the labor and parts for the stems that broke from my neglect. This is a great place to have work done on your car and get your oil changed. The staff is very kind, super knowledgeable, and VERY HONEST. I have been there two times times for what I thought was going to be possibly a major expense and on both trips I did not pay a dime. I would give them zero stars if I can. My brother brought my car in because of a flat tire. The worker told him that he needed a new tire because it was shredded and beyond repair so I went through the hassle of ordering a new set of tires online (not through them). In the meantime, I used my spare tire. Before I was able to install the new tires, I brought my car to my dealer for another issue and what do you know, my tire is an easy patch-up job. I've been taking my van there for years, and when you find a honest service manager then keep going back. Pete's staff are top-notch mechanics who will diagnose your vehicle's problems and provide you with an honest and correct assessment of the issues and fix them right! They have never over inflated the work that needed to be done with me. Pete always gave me a full report, advised me of the cost and the work was done quickly with no "surprises" tacked onto the bill. First time I went there they accidentally popped by tire while fixing my car. They replaced it but since it was new and the other 3 were pretty worn, the car drove a little funny. So, I ended up getting 3 new tires. Decided to try them again and they used a junkyard part instead of new, it also did not work and then they claimed that was not even the real problem....I just shook my head and walked out...don't like arguing with scum.
