On Saturday morning we noticed our tire was going flat and that there had been a nail in the tire. We traveled from Minneapolis the night before and this was not how we wanted our day to start. We went to a competitor first and was told there would be a two hour wait. I explained that I had an infant in the car, and two dogs. They were not able to help us out so we called around and found Tire Plus. They understood the urgency and got the van right into the shop. They patched the tire in less then 20 minutes. They were kind and appreciated our business even though they knew we had to get it done there. This business understands service and compassion. One of the tires on my wife's car was almost cracking and with great skills (you would think) i drove them to the auto place close to my work. The owner came out and he was like what is wrong with the tire, it looks ok. But then when i showed the bad tire he was like yeah this needs changed, unlike other places (Hirestone, MTB) he was not like yeah you need to change your tires, wheels, engine how about a new car..lol He then gave me a good deal for 3 tires (1 cracked tire and 2 which had almost no tread, 1 was replaced 6 months back), dropped me at work and pick me when it was done. He also made sure everything else was fine and gave a good price. He advised on what was practical and economical than just trying to make money. Small, trustworthy operation. My dad's been going here for maybe 10 years and I've followed suit. I live in Chicago so I don't go here for absolutely everything, but I'm in the area a lot for work and family so I go here for regular maintenance when I can. And I definitely turn to Tires Plus when I need anything more than an oil change. For example, I paid half of what I would've paid at a dealer to replace all 4 tires, and they stand behind their work so if something goes wrong with it, they fix it. Check the Tires Plus website for coupons, too. They usually have some deal going. They have fair prices and are knowledgeable but break things down for you. They don't pressure you into anything, and they don't exaggerate the importance of replacing this fluid or that doohickey. They tell it like it is, no BS. And Raj really makes an effort to remember repeat customers, which I appreciate. It's not always the fastest, and their magazine selection (like that of most auto-related places) is limited. Highlights, Sports Illustrated...yawn. It'd be great if whoever manages the whole property in that area would fix that freaking parking lot -- it's like an obstacle course. I have been going there for over 10 years. Mark is one of the mechanics and what I really like is they do not just tell you the issue they show you the issue. On my previous car I needed head gaskets replaced they showed me the issue but said this was something the dealer needed to do. I respected the fact that they knew this was a huge job and needed to be done else where turned out the dealer had my car for two weeks. The customer service is wonderful they are very honest and informative. I have NEVER had any issues with the work they have done on my cars over the years. I can honestly say I trust them 100% and I am glad they are trained to work on newer cars even foreign cars I now have a Mitsibishi and know I do not have to pay dealer prices for repairs because I have found a honest, inexpensive team of professionals. I went to Tires Plus Waukegan to get my tires changed exactly one week after having my oil changed at the dealership. They did a good job changing the tires which is why they got the two stars. While changing my tires, they told me my calipers, rotors, and brake pads on the front of my not even 3 year told car all needed to be replaced. When I had been at the dealership the week before, it went through a multipoint inspection where all of that was fine. Tires Plus gave me an estimate of over $600 for the replacing those things. I took my car back to the dealership to have them check and they gave me proof all of those things were fine. Tires Plus wanted me to get over $600 of work done that didn't need to be done. Long story short, I would make sure you get a second opinion on your car before just listening to what Tires Plus tells you it needs because they may try to replace things that don't actually need it. read more

Another update for this fantastic business - - had new calipers, rotors, pads installed on the front of my 11 year old Highlander. As per usual, the service was great, the pricing was fair PLUS on inspection, the technician discovered some loose hosing and caking related to my radiator. This was AFTER finishing the brake job - - so they addressed the issue, fixed the hosing, cleaned up the caking on the radiator at no additional charge. Scheduled an appointment via the mobile app. The 59 minute guarantee for tire replacement was very attractive but when I talked to the store to confirm the appointment the rep starts to prepare me for a long wait... When I inquired about the appointment guarantee he started to give me excuses and ended up telling me that since they are not corporate owned they do not have to honor it and expect me to wait all day because they did not want to get stuck with the tires. @tiresplus Why are they allowed to get business from the tire plus website of they are not required to honor the promise? Never heard of them before will never go back. I'm sitting at @WaukeganTireService now and they are great! read more

Their prices are competitive but what really stood out was their service. I try to avoid random auto places because I hate the dance they inevitably do with you trying to upsell you on all kinds of nonsense most of which you don't need. I purchased my own tires elsewhere and brought them in for installation and I figured an alignment would be a good idea at the same time. After requesting the alignment and them getting my car on the rack and checking it out they told me that my alignment looked good and, in the end, saved me an additional $80-$90. Will never go back again. This is my story. I recently moved to the area and took my Lexus is to their shop since they were close to my work. That was during last summer. I asked them to install a set of all-season tires and new front breaks. A week after the brakes were installed they start having problems. I took it back again and they did them again only to have the same problem again so I took the car to the dealer and that's what they wrote " wrong parts were installed and incorrectly" I took the paperwork to them and complained so they refunded my money. I thought I was done but then winter came and my all-wheel drive car starts sliding all over the place. I did some investigation and found out that they installed a discontinued summer tires on my car "Fire stone Fire hawk indie 500". If you think this is ok then go and use them. Note: When I called to complain the rep denied that they were summer tires so I read him what firestone said about the tires being summer tires not intended for snow driving so he immediately said it has been past 30 days cannot do anything for you. read more

It ok so far- we'll see. Friendly staff. I got a coupon off the website for a $20 oil change so I'm trying them out. I'm new to the area so I was hoping they had my records from the Denver Tires-Plus. Turns out they can't access my automotive records because my previous location was a corporate store and this is a franchise location. At least they honor coupons but they dont do appointments like the othere stores. First come first serve only.The store looks nice from the outside hut is tucked off right off the main road so you have to go by the McDonalds to get back there. Once in front of the building, the parking is a little iffy since there are few U-Hauls scattered. Also a few cars that look like they have been sitting awhile without service. I was first in at 8 am and the waiting area was unswept from the day before. No coffee was made and a dirty burned coffee pot at sat empty. Would have been nice to enjoy a fresh pot off coffee. The waiting area had 2 basic tables with 4 chairs each which is good for card game but not very comfortable for a long wait. Here I am looking across the table at the same Saturday morning goofballs trying to get to the same goal - to get out of here! So the places isn't overly cozy or appealing. I've been to worse places. I just hope they do car service! This is a long rambling review but what the hell else am I supposed to do while waiting for an oil change! read more

I have been going to this tires plus location for about 7 years and my mother has been going there for even longer. The two men operating this place are the most friendly and honest shop owners I've dealt with in all of my driving years. Their mechanics are very good and they will take you into the shop area to show and explain to you what's going on with your car before working on it. There were times when I thought something might be wrong with my car only to take it there and be told that everything was fine when they could have easily told me otherwise and charged me hundreds of dollars for unnecessary work. Onetime my mom showed up right as they closed with a flat tire. The owner was on his way out after locking up for the day. He took the time to remove my mom's flat tire and put her spare tire on for her to get her through until she could come back the next day to get it fixed, at no cost. I would recommend to anyone living in the area to go to this Tires Plus location if they want good, honest, reliable, and affordable care for their cars. read more

Visited this place in Dec 2010 for a car engine issue and was extremely disappointed. They charged an amount (think it was $100+) for a diagnosis and recommended that a few parts be changed, which costed me about $500 more. As I found out later, the problem was a transmission issue and that was certainly not diagnosed by the tests these guys ran. All in all it was $600 wasted in replacing a part that did not need replacement in the first place. If you don't know what the problem is, state that upfront rather wasting customer time and money. I have used these guys for years. Literally. I have never had a bad experience with them. All three of our family vehicles have been in for servicing and they have been nothing but professional. They even let us know that a dealer was putting in the incorrect parts in my daughters car (repeated engine problem every couple of months). After they put in the correct parts - at a cost that was LESS than the dealership - we've had no more engine problems and it's been over a year now.
