Thanks Dillion for actually explaining & helping w/ beer & food ideas

Dropped into Ratio Beerworks during a brewery hopping day with local and out-of-town friends. The location is great, right in the heart of RiNo, and the beer itself is solid (the Carrot & Elderflower IPA was outstanding). Unfortunately, the service from one bartender was so bad it almost ruined the entire stop. Here's what happened: we sat at the bar, it wasn't even busy, and one of our friends asked if they did flights. The bartender with the navy shirt covered in stars and lightning bolts sighs loudly, acts like it's a huge inconvenience, and reluctantly says, "I guess I'll do it for you." My friend felt so bad she even apologized for asking--which is insane, since flights are standard at most breweries. From there, he basically checked out. Instead of engaging with us, talking about the beers, or doing his actual job, he spent the night scrolling on his phone and chatting with a group of his buddies at the other end of the bar. On a Friday night. In a customer-facing job. If you're that miserable, don't clock in--you're the face of the brewery when you're behind the bar. The only reason this review isn't a flat 2 stars is because of Dillon. He stepped up big time: came over to ask how we liked our flight, helped us choose pints, and even recommended the taco truck outside (which we loved). Thanks to him, we stayed, ordered a bunch of beer, and still tipped 28%. Dillon is exactly who you want representing your brewery--professional, personable, and attentive. The other guy? A total embarrassment. Lazy, rude, glued to his phone, and only pretended to care once he saw us spending money. If someone like that worked at my brewery or restaurant, I'd cut them immediately. Customers notice, and it drags down the whole experience. Bottom line: Ratio makes excellent beer and is worth visiting, but your night depends entirely on who's behind the bar. If Dillon is working, you'll have a great time. If it's the other guy, brace yourself for terrible service from someone who clearly doesn't want to be there. Great beer, one terrible employee. If you see the bartender glued to his phone with stars & lightning bolts on his shirt, don't expect service--just wait for Dillon. Ratio: your beer deserves better representation. Dillon is exactly who you want as the face of your brewery. The other guy? Lazy, unprofessional, and flat-out disrespectful. If he worked at my place, he wouldn't have a job.

I said I liked cider and this is the drink that the bartender recommended. My friend and I parentheses (photographed) described it as sweet and a beer more than a cider. Very nice service and LOVED the outdoor area. All I wanted was some rocks under a wood table, and they delivered!

Second time in here and it is just as good as I remember. Definitely some great beers, and one of my favorites, King of Carrot Flowers, which is a carrot saizon! As today is opening day of the Rockies at Coors Field they are launching and releasing a Mexican-Style Lager called Cityscapes, which has a great flavor! No food in here regarding service for food but you can bring in any food in the area. There is indoor and outdoor seating, it is very cozy with the heat that they'll have going but it won't be overly hot! Come check it out as this is one of the greater Denver Breweries!

They had some interesting styles on tap when I was there --who knew carrot flowers would taste so good when brewed into beer? I liked the space a lot except that it was cold when we got there and the garage doors were wide open. Overall, it was a decent stop on our mini brew hop through Five Points.

We love this brewery - was the place that my partner and I had our first date. The king of carrot flowers is my favorite and they have tons of outdoor seating which is great for the summer. They always have food trucks parked outside if you get hungry too. Only down side is they don't have many non beer options but not an issue for me!

Cool brewery with lots of indoor and outdoor space to hang out. Try the king of Carrots, you won't regret it.

This place is great! The bartenders were great, so nice & helpful! We're from LA & the bartenders were so welcoming & had so many great recommendations! Great vibes & great beer! If we ever come back to Colorado we'll definitely be back!!

Good spot to hang out and enjoy a beer or two in the RiNo. The Hold Steady scotch ale is still my go-to beer here. We each enjoyed two while relaxing and watching the world go by.

Ambiance: very spacious brewery, outdoor spaces both in front of the establishment and in the backyard, there is also an old fashioned Photo Booth Service: very fast and patient with questions and requests, provided helpful suggestion Drink: variety choices for beer, and flights available per requests No Shade - *** czech-style pilsner, average Photobooth - *** lemon blonde ale, fruity taste Handwritten - *** belgian wit, light Dear You - **** citra french saison, crisp taste, recommend King of Carrot Flowers - ***** carrot elderflower saison, the most special one, highly recommend Antidote - *** west coast ipa, ordinary Sparks Fly - **** juicy ipa, refreshing, recommend Price: standard draft beer prices, which costs about $20~$30 per person

Very spacious brewery with lots of seating. Beer selection is kind of small but the carrot beer was tasty.

Went here for the first time during GABF. We were excited to try the place. The beer was AMAZING. We ordered the Fresh Hopped Antidote and the Hold Steady. They both were delicious, although the Hold Steady (scotch ale) was not completely true to form. The bartender accidentally poured a King of Carrot Flowers and said it was ours on the house. This beer had just won a gold medal at GABF. I can see why! It was not a style I usually try, but so glad I did. It was to die for. Totally worth a visit!

You can throw a rock and hit a brewery in Denver.... but Ratio is a MUST visit now that we have been here! We came back twice in 3 days. Yes, it was that great. Super cute space indoor and out. Outdoor seating with misting units were CLUTCH on a super hot day. The staff was very kind and the beers were amazing. Stand outs were the Carrot Elderflower Sour and the Lemon Blonde. Just go. You're welcome.

    Robert N.

Stopped in for a beer when they were very busy, but since they have a good amount of space both indoor and outdoors that wasn't an issue. They also were slinging the beers very quickly so the wait wasn't too bad either. They were very heavy on IPAs so, if you aren't an IPA fan your options might be limited. They didn't have any sours that I saw, but did have a saison and a Kolsch, as well as a Pilsner. My only complaint was the volume of the music was unreasonably loud. It was loud to the point of having to yell at our own table of four just to converse. We asked them to turn it down but they didn't. Unfortunately it drove us out after one beer since we couldn't talk to each other. TL:DR - good beer, fair price, LOUD
