This brewery was lively on a Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed a flight of strong beers that included Snowburn (wheatwine, 12.2% ABV), Bavarian Bolts (Munichwine, 10.9% ABV), Dark Falcon (black barleywine, 10.4% ABV), and God Father (quadrupel and barleywine blend, 17.5% ABV). All were outstanding, but God Father stole the show! The bartender was friendly and attentive. The seating at the bar is conducive to chatting with the cheerful patrons. read more

River North Brewery - Denver - Beer selection on April 18, 2026 - Breweries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I visited the original River North facility many years ago, apparently it's no longer there but now they have two new locations. This location was much bigger than the original with lots of seating at the bar and in the bar area and there was another room with seating as well. About a dozen beers on tap and we tried four of them. The guy behind the bar was great and we enjoyed our visit. read more

Hands down one of THE best places we visited in Denver; definitely the top brewery. We tried everything that was on the menu - our favorite was Father Time. Still upset that we forgot to grab a few bottles to take home but that just gives us an excuse to revisit! The taproom is spacious with outdoor seating and even an event space. We were invited back for their chili cook-off and it was one of our most memorable experiences of the trip. The team did an excellent job organizing it and they host other events as well. Speaking of, staff was awesome - service was above & beyond. Needless to say, I highly recommend this spot, especially that Father Time. read more

I have always wanted to visit River North Brewing. They specialize in Barrel Aged Stouts, one of my favorites, but also have some other solid offerings. Founded in 2012 by Matt and Jessica Hess. A small operation in Denver, Colorado that has been collecting awards left and right. I pulled a chair up and got myself a flight. Festbier (2024): A Festbier style Oktoberfest beer that really hit the spot. Nice and drinkable with good balance. Double Barrel Aged Shadowman: A Barrel Aged Imperial Stout that was first aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels and then in Colorado Single Malt Barrels. Big, bold, and bodacious as a double barrel aged stout should be. Plenty of barrel character! Whiskey Barrel Aged Quandary: A Belgian Quadrupel that was aged in Whiskey Barrels. Well balanced with nice caramel and molasses notes. Pumpkin Spice Bucket of Bolts A Barleywine with adjuncts of Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Vanilla, and Cloves. An award winning beer for good reason - PSL in the perfect vessel, Barleywine. _____ read more

To us, this was an okay place as the selection of the beers is/was quite small and two of the beers we tasted were not extraordinary. Service was okay-ish. The two workers upfront were not very welcoming or friendly although they seemed to be that way to others especially those who sat at the bar. What we liked about the place were... 1) the location. It's located in north RiNo only several block from the 38th & Blake RTD station. It's away from the major businesses where you can enjoy a quiet atmosphere especially you sit outside in the patio (although the sound-proofing inside is not great inside. There was a customer at the bar who was conversing with one of the workers and he (customer) was quite loud when he laughed. Although we sat all the way to the left of the building his loud laughter echoed through the room where my bf and I couldn't hear each other from time to time.) 2) the spaciousness of the brewery. The inside is simple and plain. Whereas some might think that they could use more decors to "color" the interior, I like the way it is. They have a backroom which you go through to get to the bathroom which leads to the patio area (the patio area is also accessible from the main bar area so you can walk around the entire place by going to both directions; it's efficiently designed in my opinion.) When we were here yesterday (March 9, 2025), the weather was absolutely beautiful (in mid 60's). There was a food truck (some Latin American cuisine) right (on 34th) outside (not sure if it's always that vendor or they switch it up.) You got to have good food that pairs well with what you're drinking, right? Well, at this time, 3 stars is a fair rating I can give to this place. Like I said, we weren't impressed and yet it's also not a bad place either. read more

Stopped in for a quick beer to use the Hop Pass for a BOGO deal. My husband got the Mountain Haze and I got the barrel-aged Father Time. We enjoyed our beers and it was cool to see their wide selection of barrel-aged brews. It's definitely more of a no fuss, no frills kind of place. Would come back to try more of their barrel-aged beers. read more

What a great taproom! There's a lot of space/seats around the bar, as well as various tables around the main room. Then there's a whole secondary room with tables/plenty of space. All the current beers that are on tap are on the screen to the left of the bar. Our bartender was great - we throughly enjoyed our beers (peach and a barrel aged), and picked up quite a few bottles to go! We will absolutely be back! read more

We did a walking tour of the city so we were kinda tired at the end of the evening. We decided to check out this brewery as our car was parked very close to this place. Nice ambiance and service staff were good too. They have a food truck with Mexican food as an option if you're hungry. I just ordered American lager. They have some board games and other bar games to play with friends and family. Nice seating area and pretty comfortable too. read more

This is my new favorite Colorado brewery. Absolutely killer stouts. Not just standard barrel aged stuff; truly unique strong stouts with complex flavors and huge variety. Any fans of Oskar blues, Avery, the bruery (California) would be wise to scope this place out. Bonus: there is a rad climbing gym a block away read more

One of the best IPA's in the city, my husband said. He got a flight and all of the beers were pretty solid but he loved the Colorado IPA the best. The atmosphere is really chill and there are some comfortable couches and games available for folks to play. We would for sure return to try some different beers. read more

Such good service and good drink selection. I had to take a meeting and the bar tender was nice enough to turn down the music in the room we were in so I could attend on zoom. They don't really serve food but they had a taco truck today which was great . read more

River North's darks are phenomenal. It's really their specialty. This location of theirs has a decent sized patio with a big garage door that opens to it. They always have some funky beers as well. The vibe is more chill than the rest of Rino and the outdoor tables are all picnic tables so I don't love that but appreciate the size of the space. read more

The beer is enough of a reason to seek this brewery out, but the beertender we had is a rock star. Jessica was extremely knowledgeable about their beers and is clearly a craft beer enthusiast. The selection of barrel aged and strong ales is unbelievable. River North is a must stop if you're in Denver. read more

River North has been around a while..they were one of the first breweries I got hooked on when I moved to Denver 8 years ago. It is great to see them back in their original neighborhood!! The new taproom is great! Right by the 38th and Blake RTD station. They have a small pilot brew-system here (the main brewing facility is a few miles to the north). I am a huge fan of their barrel program..they do some amazing and unique beers. Their normal tap beers are also very tasty! The taproom has a front area with garage doors and a nice dog friendly patio. There is usually a food truck by the patio as well. They also have an additional seating area in the back that can be used for private events as well. The bar-top is a really cool upcycled wood and the general aesthetics are very nice and relaxing as well. The service at River North has always been amazing. The new location is no exception. Even during happy hour on opening week the service was friendly and quick! read more

I love this brewery! I am a big fan of dark beer, especially imperial stouts, which can be hard to find and if you do, there is usually only one option. River North specializes in creative dark beers that give me a goth/heavy metal vibe - which I love! My only complaint is the random country music playlist that is a real vibe killer. You'd expect guns and roses or white zombie to be playing, or maybe that's just my dream. Other than that please check this place out! read more

Bartender w the pretty blue eyes on Saturday around 530pm was EXCELLENT. This place was busy af and he let you know when you were next, made small talk when he could, helped us find our next stop (we wanted to watch Ohio state play). read more

Good variety of beers, comfortable space and friendly staff. Not as crazy as some of the spots in the midst of RINO which I appreciate. Would definitely go back here to try some different beers. There was a taco truck when we were there but didn't try it so looks like having beer and dinner there is sometimes an option too. read more

Loved it! The bartender was fantastic & very knowledgeable. He works Sundays only, but has been in the industry 15 years and explained to us & answered any questions we had. The dragonfly gose was amazing! read more

Cute place, yummy beer and decent service. More than I tend to expect these days. Would go back.

(both locations) Excellent beers. One of my favorite breweries in Denver. On point with flavors, especially stouts and barrel aged beers. You can't go wrong with any beer here, in my opinion. They also have a great atmosphere! great patio for dogs (non-covid). read more

I went to River North brewery with my coworkers the other day. They had a good selection of beers and they weren't too expensive. I got the Hello Darkness IPA because while I don't love IPA's, I do love dark beers. This was a beer I will definitely get again, but not sure I if I could have several at a time. They have a few beers that are above 10% which is fun. Ive heard they usually have a food truck, which is nice. Unfortunately it wasn't there when I went and would've been nice. Would be great to have had the option for more snacks than their popcorn. Overall, this was a good spot and I will be back given I work in the neighborhood. read more

It's a beautiful day in Denver! And I am 100% not ready for winter. My favorite part of summer here? The patios!!! And the alcohol served on them . Case in point, River North Brewery became an instant favorite this summer. It's the perfect spot to people watch, chill out and hang with your peeps AND fur babies. There's usually a food truck right outside and the beer? It's SO GOOD! I am not a huge beer person but I tell you, on this particular day, you wouldn't have known that - I was almost glass for glass with my babe (annnd may have needed a water and snack by the time we left ). The staff are super friendly and overall, it's just a cool spot not overrun with some of the normal RiNo crowds. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely be a regular. Cheers! read more

So I decided to go back and give them a second chance and I have to say that I'm glad I did. Their beers are quite solid and they have a really nice tap room. It's a bit off the beaten path in RiNo but it's worth stopping by if you're into craft beers. Try the Barrel Aged Quad! It was absolutely delicious. ------------------- Tried to go at 2pm on a Sunday and the place was completely closed with no notice that they wouldn't be open. read more

First, the beer is delicious. My favorite is the Mountain Haze, but I enjoy the IPA and was turned on to the Fifteener double IPA on my visit, which I will continue to enjoy again and again...not heavy or cloying, and it has just the right amount of bitterness. The new taproom is great, and I like the way the bar is configured (with different angles) so it encourages cross-conversation among patrons. And if you don't have tvs to distract patrons who don't want to talk, the music better be great...and thanks to Zach, it was. I'll be back, again and again. read more
