Daisy taking a friend out for Taco Tuesday.

Immediately a new favorite. Being able to take dogs inside and it being air conditioned is amazing. Visited for Taco Tuesday on a hot day and the inside is absolutely comfortable. The service is quick and friendly. We ordered food from the taco truck, they have a great combo Taco Tuesday deal. Happy we finally tried this spot.

Ok so definitely come Tuesday night for tacos. $10, 3 tacos, beer AND a churro. this place is rad. Great service and the tacos are . Cold beers

I didn't assume much from this place, as it doesn't look like much from the outside, you would think just another brewery in an industrial plaza... but don't judge a book by its cover. The inside of this place is cool a few tables on the one side with the bar and a huge area on the other side with a new bar (it wasn't ready when we were there but it looked like it was close) more seating and an outdoor patio area with a taco food truck. It's decorated inside like a mechanics garage, lots of pictures of airplanes and helicopters, trucks, etc.. the flight boards are cool and definitely hand made (see picture). We tried a flight of beer and a bunch of different styles. The beer was good and the guy pouring the beers was great. Cool place with great service, good beer in a big open airy spot!

Great taproom and beer at Ratchet Brewery!

Ratchet Brewery was yet another brewery Steve and I went to on a recent trip that we made to Salem, Oregon. Salem seemed to have a cluster of new breweries that opened prior to our visit so we got to try a whole bunch of them. As the name implies Ratchet is kind of a car themed type brewery. The taproom is a lot of fun and there are rooms that you can go into to sit back and relax. The taproom wasn't too terribly busy when we went here and that was nice. Steve got a really good coffee stout here and I got a awesome Pale Ale. We would have tried more but since we were indeed on one of our brewery tours we had to drink small since we were planning to fit in a couple more for the evening. The staff here are really nice and cheerfully answers any questions that you may have. Really a nice place and one of my favorite taprooms that we went to when we visited Salem.

Excellent beer all around. Long Ryed IPA won me over when they first opened. If you're a hop head, try their Deuce Coupe IPA. Check out their Vintage Bike Meet-Up the second Tuesday of every month starting in April.

Small, intimate but up and coming brewery. Parking is an issue but not enough to bypass. Friendly folks.

Their ciders are great, I tried the Viking Cherry Cider and loved it so much I bought a six pack to take home, at $18 for 6 it was still absolutely well worth it. For food my coworker got the Fish and Chips, deep fried in beef tallow for those who avoid seed oils, and said it was excellent. I had a caesar salad and fries to go with my cider and it was a lovely meal. This will absolutely be one of our go-to spots when in Salem from now on.

The inside atmosphere is sports bar fabulous plenty of seating for groups or couples. We shared a juicy hazy IPA and an order of scotch eggs while sitting on the patio, which is shaded and comfortable with both picnic tables and bar-top seating. I was thrilled to find that the scotch eggs were not only delicious but also authentically prepared. The yolk was soft and slightly runny, and the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. This establishment is a true hidden gem. While the food prices are a little steep, the quality definitely makes it worthwhile. We will be back!

We finished our drives and no one came over to check on us. We had to walk up to the bar to order and even after that it took another 15 mins for beers. Food is a whole other story. The burger was ok but never had I waited so long at a brew pun for burger. Honestly, not even at a higher end restaurant have I waited so long for a burger. My kid, who waited over 40 mins for a cheeseburger, and said something to the server, was actually told to go cry in front of the chef cause "that might hurry things along". Pretty absurd customer service. I understand having a large party slam the kitchen but that's no excuse for inattentive service, rudeness or slow beers (at a brewpub much less- doesn't take long to pour a beer). I had high hopes after reading reviews but I'm very disappointed. I do not recommend and will not return after this.

She was so kind to our dog and made us feel so comfortable. We went with her beer suggestions and then she gave us a taste of the Mamba- their flagship beer- we loved it. Ambiance is 5/5 - the inside dining room and bar area are rustic & would feel very cabin-comfortable in the winter. The dog-friendly outside patio is surrounded by creekside foliage and the breeze that comes through the shaded seating area has a natural cooling effect during this hot summer day. The vibe is very relaxed and casual. Food is 5/5 - Happy Hour goes from 3-5:30 and they offer great value for food items on the HH menu. I had the pulled pork sando with side salad during HH and we split a spicy chicken sando with fries as well. The portions are generous and both items were good quality and fresh from the bun to the coleslaw on the pulled pork- everything was so good! The blueberry heffy & the Mamba ard delightful on warm days. We will definitely recommend Gilgamesh Brewing and look forward to returning to the area.

On this particular Saturday night, the wife & I strolled in around 7:45 pm. We inquired to the person behind the counter - "What time do you folks close?" He replied - " Around 8:00ish, but please feel free to take as long as you like." ...What a welcoming felling... While we were enjoying our pint of Slice of Heaven (IPA) and Yugot Serbed Porter, the gentlemen behind the counter, started to bring in the outdoor furniture and heaters inside. Another two groups of customers arrive in the meantime and the gentlemen responded with the same friendly and courteous response he gave us. As far as food is concerned, this establishment doesn't have any food in-house. There are two food carts on premises, one is of Mexican cuisine and the other is Hawaiian Comfort Foods. You're also able to bring in your own food as well as order for delivery from several menus on the counter, such as pizza from Yeasty Beasty. This is our second time we have visited this Independence Brewery and we will definitely be back soon. The excellent customer service provided blends in well with the small town charm of Independence Oregon.
