Woohoo another night at parallel 45 brewing!! Let's see what the bar tender recommends tonight!

Parallel 45 Brewing is one of our favorite spots for a casual drink. On hot summer days they open up the garage doors creating such a welcoming neighborhood vibe. They always have new stuff rotating on tap as well as the fan favorites! This time around we filled up our growler to take some of our favorite beers camping with us! If it's your first time or you don't know what you want, the bartenders are great at making recommendations and you can sample whatever you'd like! For a bite to eat, there's a Mexican food truck on the property. Their menu doesn't look very vegetarian friendly but if you ask they can make things vegetarian to order!

    Grab a slice, IPA!

So love this place, surviving and thriving this crazy year. Owned and operated by the folks from Cascade Brewing. Plus the hidden gem of the place a food truck serving bomb ass Poke and hurricane chicken Lonnys Lunch Wagon. Back to the regularly scheduled review of P45. The beer is great and the vibe is s chill. And when the weather is right, you wont find a better industrial beer garden around.

    Flight of 6 for $13.

Great outdoor space to get to the front door. The view was meh with a huge construction project across the street and an old broken down house. Once inside, you see the brew equipment right there in the space with the brewer doing his thing. Love it! Lots of variety of beers including their own seltzers. Flight of 6 beers ($13) so we could compare and contrast. Fun and informative description on the beers; I like it when they mention what hops they use. Fish tacos from the Mexican food truck were some of the best I've had: hot, crispy, fresh, avocado.

We have stopped in at least once a week if not more depending on weather we walk (2 to 3 miles) from home.

Walked in expecting a normal dinner, immediately realized we had made a tactical error in the best way possible. The place was packed, loud, and had that kind of energy you can't really fake. Solid 10/10 on vibes if you're in the mood for it (and even if you're not, you adjust quickly). Despite being clearly short staffed, the service was impressively good. Not "everything is perfectly on time" good, but "everyone is working hard, communicating, and actually cares" good. They were very upfront and apologetic about the delays, which honestly went a long way. Food came out a bit slower than usual (again, not surprising given the circumstances), but overall I'd put it at a strong 8/10. Nothing overhyped, just well-executed and worth ordering again. I had the classic lager and it was meh. This is very subjective I realize but I'd rate it a 4 or 5/10. All things considered, it could have easily been a frustrating experience walking in on one of the busiest nights of the year, but it wasn't. Credit to the staff for keeping things running and keeping the tone positive. I'd come back, ideally on a slightly less festive evening, but also kind of glad I saw it at full capacity.

I saw a post on our town's community page from the restaurant asking for patron's to come in and…read moreenjoy their food and that they'd recently only had 2 customers come in. With 4.6 stars/reviews, we were excited to try it out and support a local businesses, so we gathered up our family and headed there for dinner. There were 6 in our party (3 adults, 3 kids). Unfortunately, our experience was one for the books, and not in a good way. Let's get straight to it. SERVICE: Both the person who answered the phone and the person who greeted us when we walked in were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, they told us that it was their last day and that they were moving to Portland, so she was training a new person. The new person who took our order didn't know much about the menu items, but since we knew that she was in training, we asked for help and she got someone who could answer our questions about gluten free options and pasta sauce options. We waited a a good 15 minutes or so for ginger ale and 2 cokes. We waited easily over 50 minutes for our food. MENU: The menu is very limited, meaning there are not many options to choose from. They didn't have any juice or any "kids menu" items to choose from. Limited appetizers. FOOD: Probably the worst food I've ever had at a sit down restaurant in Monmouth/Independence. We ordered few things to eat family style since it was our first time and we wanted to try a few items. Every pasta dish was undercooked and flavorless. Every single thing we ordered tasted either old, microwaved or way too salty. Nothing looked or tasted fresh BESIDES the salad, which took longer to get than the actual food. I only gave one star for the nice person who greeted us and kept checking on us throughout the long wait. Otherwise, I'd give zero stars. It was a hefty price to pay for really BAD food. It was so bad that we went to get something else for dinner after we left there. I'm not sure if we went on an off day, or if we ordered some items that aren't usually made, but I was surprised by the quality of food, especially with such good ratings. Will not be returning.

We walked in, there were only two other parties dining there on a Wednesday evening, our party of five were seated right away and provided with water and menus. On this evening the menu was slanted towards Louisiana cuisine and we took advantage as we rarely have the opportunity to enjoy cajun cuisine. The Great: Lots of great local brews and wines. My wife enjoyed a wine flight all featuring wines made in the area. I enjoyed a couple local brews that were excellent. I ordered the Jambalaya while the wife went with a Charcuterie Plate, both dishes were solid. Finished off dinner with an order of beignets for a sweet ending. The Good: Service was solid, food did take a while as they only had one person in the kitchen preparing the food. We took the opportunity to relax after a long day of travel and enjoy our libations. The Okay: Some of the items featured on the online menu was not available but our little group all found suitable menu replacements with no complaints. Overall: Great spot, fun decor, nice staff, and convenient location to our AirBnb made this a great first night in town!
