I'm not sure when Twin City changed, but they no longer have the policy that forced people to buy a minimum 40 minutes worth of dryer time. This was my previous concern, but it is no longer an issue. I'm really disappointed because my first experience here was excellent. The employee who helped me…read morewas incredibly kind, patient, and helpful, and the laundromat is clean enough that I was willing to overlook the unusually late 7 a.m. opening time. Today was the complete opposite. There are signs asking customers not to abuse cash back because the business incurs debit card fees--essentially asking customers to be considerate of the business's costs. Yet when I asked for one small plastic bag like the ones used for wash-and-fold, I was rudely told I would need to purchase a full-size laundry bag instead. I understand that a business is under no obligation to give me a bag. That isn't really the point. This laundromat's wash-and-fold operation also regularly occupies a significant portion of the folding area, and customers share that space and work around it. I don't mind doing that. But if a business is going to explicitly ask its customers for consideration, I think it's reasonable to expect a little consideration in return. It wasn't the bag that bothered me. It was the dismissive attitude and the inconsistency between asking customers for consideration while showing very little in return.

This place is better than others for sure, namely Allen Street laundry. I live right by Allen…read moreStreet and won't go to that one because it is shady as hell. Like I've seen drug deals go down there. But 20th Street Laundry is better because it is cleaner, works better, and is more accessible. It still seems like it may be a questionable part of town, but it's fine. There is a convenience store and a thai restaurant next door so I will often grab a thai tea and some salad rolls while I wait, which is nice. There are no bathrooms or laundry carts though, so go potty before you leave the house.

We ordered a prom dress to fit and it came very wrinkled. We took it to Downtown Cleaners in…read moreperfect condition. We looked over the dress very good before we took it in. Our only mistake was to not look over every inch before we left. We got the dress to the office and saw right in front on the bottom were two dirt marks and what looks like small holes and puckers where it was melted or burnt. We tried to call but they were rude so we took the dress over there. They were ever ruder when we got there saying we did the damage after we left the store maybe shutting it in the door. If that were the case the plastic bag would have holes too and it's in perfect condition plus we KNOW it wasn't shut in the door, we were VERY careful with the dress. They ruined this dress and won't face up to it! Instead they were rude, yelled at us, told us to never come back (no problems there!!!!) and after much arguing gave us the money back we paid for the cleaning but that doesn't change the fact that now in two days we either have to find another dress or she has to wear one with holes in it. We are sure they knew about it. We were quoted $35 but for some reason only charged us $23?? Hmmm makes you wonder.

In 6 years of going here intermittently (I live a long way away), the owner and his daughter have always been courteous, kind, and helpful. They've removed challenging stains, done beautiful press work on formal gowns and ceremonial robes, and always apply the heaviest starch that the color of dress shirt permits (my husband's preference). It so disappoints me that people give negative reviews because they don't want to wear masks. I very much appreciate Orchid's diligence in keeping the space safe for everyone, and open to provide services (they could easily close if staff fell ill). Definitely the best in Longview/Kelso!

This was a few months ago but the reviews saying they lost money and nobody to contact is not accurate. the guy who works there I assume is the owner has his cell phone number right there to call if you have any issues. It's always reasonably clean and they actually have dryers for a quarter believe it or not which is crazy this day and age. granted it's only 8 minutes per quarter but it get really hot unlike some of the newer models ( garbage ones with 31 different sensors on them) which I have at home. The water saving kinda washer without an agitator which doesn't work worth a crap for actual dirty clothes. I guess for business casual stuff you wore to the office, sure but gym clothes or blue collar work clothes it ain't cutting it. I need something more than spinning it around and changing a little water out.
