    Vegan cupcakes

These vegan cupcakes saved the day. I was able to walk in and get chocolate and vanilla vegan cupcakes. The cake was moist, delicious and not too sweet. They were $3 each very affordable. I would recommend.

Happy with the custom decoration but not with the messy edges. Could have used straighter lines around the 1 shape.

I ordered a cupcake (pull-apart) cake for my niece's first birthday. I requested a modified version of something they had on their website and sent a photo of what I'd like the cake to resemble. They requested that I call and we discussed what I wanted. Friendly service and easy to place an order. I loved the way the design came out but the edges were very messy - I did expect the outer edges of the cupcakes to be covered entirely or at least be neatly finished. I ordered half chocolate and half vanilla. The vanilla cupcakes were good but the chocolate ones were not a hit. They lacked flavour, colour, and were maybe slightly undercooked, guests noticed a too-moist squishy texture while eating. I might order again but I'll avoid the chocolate.

20th birthday cake! Taste was amazing!!

This has to be the best spot in town for egg free birthday/wedding cakes. I discovered this spot randomly on google and tried it out. First we order my brothers birthday cake and then we continuously used this place for all birthday cakes. The cake was so tasty and the designs were fairly good. There are so many toppings to choose from. We could add strawberries and even pineapple. Since not everyone likes pineapple in the cake we were able to spilt the cake into two and have half with pineapple and half regular vanilla. Which worked out for us. I would recommend this place for all birthday cakes especially for egg free.

We wanted to do something that felt a bit more COVID-friendly for my sons's birthday, so we opted for cupcakes instead of cake. I hadn't planned much in advance, so I depended on buying whatever they had available. When I arrived they had: raspberry, lemon, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet and strawberry. We got all but strawberry and then brought it to the event. First, they looked terrific, but most importantly, the taste was great. The cake part of the cupcakes did their job, but icing is what defines and makes (or breaks) a good cupcake. If there was a downside, the icing is clearly such good quality and made from real cream as it started to melt as we had it outside (but shaded) for about 45 minutes before service. No fault on their end of course, and just speaks to the higher quality. They really nailed having it just sweet enough without being too sweet, and with all the intended flavours coming out and being the star. For example, the lemon was apparent and had to have been made with real lemon rather than entirely on an extract. I suspect the same about the raspberries - or at the very least they have a more natural mix for it as well. My wife said the red velvet was the best she'd ever had. We served about 10 people and everyone raved about them and many asked for the company info. You pay a little more than other places, but the value is worth it at the first bite. They also do other items such as macaroons, cookies and cakes. I'm not sure whether they have ready-made cakes as I didn't see any when I visited, but from their website they make some pretty gorgeous, IG-worthy ones. So probably order in advance for those.

The prices have gone up a bit, but definitely still very reasonable. Reminder that this is a cash only business. More than half the store space is devoted as a Portuguese goods grocery store, so the amount of baked goods is somewhat limited. But you know what, when the baked goods you do offer are selling at prices that would still be at a deal 20 years ago, you shoot up in ratings. Take a guess how much they charge for the fresh, jumbo-sized sugar donuts...50 cents! Think it's just cheap since it's a sugar donut? Well for the premium price of 75 cents you can get chocolate dipped, jelly-filled and others. Even apple turnovers and chocolate-filled croissants are just 75 cents too. There's a few other items and of course they're cranking out Portuguese buns like they're feeding the entire neighbourhood - which they might just be doing. And don't just think you're only getting inexpensive baked goods. Perhaps they may not be at the level of the highest "Boulangerie" downtown, but the quality is still fantastic. You are still getting quality alongside value. Honestly, the pricing doesn't even make sense, but bless all the staff and ownership of this place for doing what they do. Oh, and they're super-friendly too.

They also serve soups and sandwiches too, so you can pick up a meal here. There's nothing too hip or exceptional, but it delivers. They do offer a few deserts, but I don't believe I saw more elaborate items such as cakes. The deli counter seemed to have recognizable, middle-of-the-road brands such as Brandt and Pillars. I didn't pay attention to the pricing, but I just caught another review afterwards that said they sell cheaper than grocery stores. If that's the case, it may be worth coming here for that then. I picked up a marble rye, hot dog buns and cheese sticks, as well as a date square. All were perfectly fine, but nothing that jumped out at me - apart from the date square. If my review was on that alone, I would give it 5 stars. I don't care if people bug me and call me an old man, I love date squares and theirs is loaded with dates - easily twice as much as most others. For that reason, along with being close to work, I can see myself making regular stops here.

However, from what I got the pastries were defs A-OK. I came 30 minutes to close on a Wednesday and the two things I got were still in pretty good shape. The cake in the tiramisu is a little dense but the bottom sponge layer of cake is really moist. This is what made me enjoy it more. I wasn't too crazy about my first bite but eating more of the bottom layer made it better. The tarts were pretty friggin good in my opinion. I mean, I haven't had a ton of Portuguese tarts in my life, but I've had some. The custard in this was definitely bomb. Nice flavour. Nice texture. The pasty wasn't too hard or 'stale' tasting. It was a pretty darn good tart. Also, the custard was not overly burnt. I knew this place existed but never brought myself to actually explore it until my bf suggested it. Glad I did though! There aren't many bakeries that offer these kind of pastries in 'main Brampton'. I will return =)
