Pur & Simple is such a cute breakfast spot. This location was honestly super bustling when I went…read more I've been to this one and the Heartland location before, and both are really nicely done. They have beautiful decorations and such a nice open concept. I love how the natural light flows through the restaurant, it makes everything feel bright and lively. The decor is really pretty, lots of green touches, and just overall really good energy inside. The food was yummy. We tried the breakfast poutine and the fried chicken eggs benedict, which were both unique and different from your typical breakfast options. Everything tasted fresh and good quality. The only thing I'd say is the portions felt a bit small, it wasn't the most filling meal especially for the price. Still really tasty though, just not super heavy. Service was nice and the staff were kind, but it was very slow and not super attentive. It was packed in there, which probably explains it, but it did make the experience feel a little drawn out. Overall though, it's a really cute spot with good vibes and solid food. Definitely a nice place to go for a fun breakfast or brunch.

The food was all tasty and more filling than I expected. The waitress was very nice too, just a bit slow, but it could just be that's the vibe in Canada; I'm used to the waitresses coming by more often in America. Overall, a great time with delicious food. I would definitely recommend!

As a preface, I'd like to say that I value taste extremely high compared to service or ambiance,…read moreand I weigh price highly as well. Overall, The Alley has a lot going for it. Drinks are amazing and locations are well placed and spaced which makes it easy for me to access as a consumer. Ambiance and service are nothing special, but I could not care less. The alley constantly comes out with new flavors and options for me try, but this is where the problem strikes. They constantly create drinks which appeal to niche demographics and so I regularly do not enjoy the new flavors. The Alley plays heavier to tea enjoyers and less to people like me who hate tea but enjoy fruit smoothies and toppings. I love the ube taro/puff brown sugar bubble tea in particular, because I cannot figure out whether it has tea in it or not. There are a lot of options, so I am sure I can do some searching for a better flavor, but I would say they do not have a lot of drinks that appeal to a wide demographic. The rewards program also sucks, might as well not exist, and so when I talk about pricing, I will not consider the rewards program (12 drinks for 1 free). The drinks are worth the price ($8.5 for a large), but it is on the expensive side of most bubble tea stores. For example, Coco has offers and deals on good drinks to bring the cost down to 2 drinks for $10. The point I am trying to make is that The Alley is premium in flavor and cost which encourages me to go to other locations for an alternative simply because I want to buy food alongside a drink and stay within my budget. Worth going too once in a month or to satisfy a craving, overall great place.

The drinks are fantastic! Genuinely my favourite place to get drinks and I'm CONSTANTLY craving it…read more My favourite is the crunchy strawberry milk tea. Cozy space and lots of seats, but I always have to wait forever for my drink. There were at least multiple times where I had to wait like 20+ mins for a drink since there was only one worker. I can't really blame them because it can get busy at times, but waiting like 30 mins for a tiny little drink is insane. I swear the service used to be much faster so it might have just been the days I chose to go. They have a great bathroom, though. I was shocked at how nice it was.

The location isn't great as it's tucked away in a pretty empty plaza. Even the ambiance upon entering doesn't give off the impression that the coffee will be THAT good but I'm here to tell you it is! I got the Iced Spanish Latte which was sweet and creamy and the espresso was so balanced and didn't get lost in the condensed milk. We also tried a Pourover and I like that you can choose any beans they offer! We went with the Loco Series Lychee Pop and it was outstanding. I'm a big fan of lychee and rose, both flavors are very palpable and even the aroma/color of the pourover were proof that it would be good. We ended up buying a bag of the whole beans. They're some of the best beans I've ever had. The barista is not only hilarious but definitely knows what he's doing!

Great Vibe, Disappointing Espresso (from an ex-Barista)…read moreStepped into this spot looking to grab some genuinely good coffee. As an ex-barista, I'm fussy--I hate spending money and not getting a quality product. Unfortunately, the coffee was a swing and a miss. I ordered one iced latte and one hot latte. In both drinks, the espresso was burnt. I actually watched the barista pulling the shots, and I could tell immediately. To make matters worse, the hot drink was barely a latte; it was essentially a cappuccino based on the absurd amount of foam on top. Plus, the milk itself was ruined. There's a certain temperature and texture for steaming milk, and this was clearly burnt milk that had been frothed way too aggressively. Aesthetically, the café is lovely--it's cute and a great spot to work from home. My recommendation? Skip the espresso drinks. Maybe try the matcha or a pastry instead. I definitely won't be back for the coffee.
