Rasa Spa is my go-to place in Ithaca when I need time to unwind, relax and be surrounded by soothing sounds and people. I have gone there for massages and yoga over the past 6 years. My experience there has always been positive and I have walked away feeling rejuvenated and very stress-free. I usually opt for sport massages and was very pleased with the results from working with a therapist before and after my first marathon. During my training and recovery the massages were hugely beneficial. I have worked with several different massage therapists there and although each one of them has been a bit different in their techniques, they also each took the time to listen to me and to respect my thoughts on what I felt my body needed. Each person I have worked with has also made it a point to suggest ways to stretch or relieve pain on various body parts as a way of continuing to take care of myself. I appreciate all that Rasa has to offer and suggest taking the time before and after your appointment to enjoy the tranquility room and the sauna, to speak with the helpful staff, and to take time in the meditation room. I've always had great massage work at Rasa Spa, but my massage with Wendy Day this past Monday was extraordinary. She was absolutely amazing. She found pockets of tensions in my shoulders that I didn't know I had until they'd been released. It was the most fantastic deep-pressure I've ever had in a massage. It was literally transportive- I completely forgot where I was at times. There were moments when I had no idea what on earth she was doing, but it felt GOOOOOD. And I'm usually not much of a fan of work on my lower legs, but my poor, overworked calves feel brand-new after Wendy worked on them. Wow! Wonderful fabulous experience. From the moment I stepped into this spaceI felt nurtured and cared for. I had one of the best facials I've ever had (Stacy) and my massage (Jim) was second to none. I am a massage therapist and had hundreds of them and Jim was up there with the best. So intuitive. The spa itself is an absolute treasure. Beautifully appointed, each space with it's own theme and the colour scheme is gorgeous. The tranquility room is just that, with lovely view overlooking Cayuga inlet and as I was there in the spring a view so lush and green. Magic. I loved being able to freely use the facilities, sauna, showers, tranquility room without feeling rushed. So I was able to indulge both before and after my treatments. The environment at this spa is wonderful, with multiple amenities you can use while you wait for your session and after to continue your body's healing. It is nestled in the corner of the city up against the water and it's naturally relaxing. I went to see Katherine for my 90 minute appointment at the very end of the day. She was kind and understanding of every issue I presented to her, and she genuinely listened which is something you don't see very often. I have a high-stress, laborious job that I have carried (quite literally) on my back and shoulders. Katherine asked a series of relevant questions and was able to target these areas, providing me with relief I haven't had in almost a year. while small, this elegant and intimate day-spa is a welcome retreat from the hectic buzz of daily life. yes, even in tinytown, we all need a respite from the madness of constant and instant electronic communication, and rasa spa is an ideal place to find that little moment of peace. the ambiance is quiet and peaceful, whether in the lovely tranquility room, the massage rooms, or in the beautifully-lit locker room. i always find the space to take that much needed and awaited deep breath. the staff is attentive without being solicitous(they'll even bring you lunch...). the excellent massage therapists are professional without being removed. i highly recommend this small but nonetheless wonderful little day spa. it is one of the many gems to be found in ithaca. read more

I received a massage from Avi yesterday at Rasa Spa. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. I was greeted warmly when I arrived and then went to the Tranquility Room to wait for my massage. Plan to come early and stay late to allow yourself the benefit of relaxing before and after the actual massage. It adds a lot to the experience to not have to rush in or out. The sauna, showers, meditation room and the tranquility room all make the massage have a deeper impact on the body and soul. I cannot say enough good things about Rasa Spa. I LOVED every appointment I have ever had. The energy work was sensational, the massages are nothing short of phenomenal , and my facials and waxing were amazing, as well. Dexter, one of the massage therapist who is actually an instructor at the massage school, is 100% professional, knowledgeable, and is by far the most amazing massage therapist I have ever encountered. Beyond being aesthetically beautiful with panoramic views, the classroom has every imaginable accommodation a continuing education instructor could desire. The service there was fantastic. Sweet and relaxing rooms, a choice of music in the background... I've been there many times, and had different massage therapists each time, and different services and I've loved them all. It's fantastic when you're staying at La Tourelle and you can get the full experience. I love the lounge area, nice tea selection, fireplace or waterfall, your choice! You can sauna before or after. Just returned to Rasa since their re-opening and I was so happy to be back! The receptionist was very welcoming and gracious, offering me tea and water upon my arrival. As always the reception area and treatment room were immaculate. Rasa is following the protocols for keeping everyone safe in this new era and I felt completely comfortable there. I always have a beautiful experience at Rasa. The common area is very tastefully decorated and calming. The complimentary robes and refreshments make for a cozy feeling. I have been seeing the same massage therapist there for some time now and she has an incredible and innate ability to heal my aching muscles! I love Rasa. Service has always been great. The atmosphere is very relaxing- especially the Tranquility Room that you can hang out in if you arrive a little early to your appointments. I can only really speak for the waxing here, but all of the waxers I've gone to here have done a good job. Sarah is especially skilled at achieving the look you want for your brows.
