Rasa Spa is amazing. I've had 4 massages here with three different therapists (Abbie, Renee, and James). Each therapist had their own technique, but they were all very talented. I've also had a facial (Sarah) and waxing as well. The ambiance is incredible. When you arrive, you are given a key to your own locker, comfy spa sandals, and a luxurious robe. Regardless of what service you've scheduled, you have access to the showers (which are awesome), the dry sauna, and the Tranquility Room. The tranquility room is a large light filled space with windows overlooking the Cayuga inlet with lounges, blankets, reading material and tea. Be sure to allot extra time in your schedule to spend time lounging about in this space. It's very relaxing. Bring your own reading material because the only magazines they have are about spas and spa products. The staff that greet you at check-in/out are always very friendly. Stephanie (who rocks) even ordered Thai food for me and served it to me on a tray in the Tranquility Room! Five Star Service!!! Facial: All their products are organic. I got the 90 minute facial and it was AWESOME. My skin looked and felt great afterward and it included a foot, head & neck massage! Sarah is incredibly nice (check out her skin. The proof is in the pudding, as they say!) Massage: I would highly recommend Abbie: She's small but a little powerhouse! Rennee was great too. Waxing: not blown away by the waxing, but maybe it was an off day. The therapist said the air conditioning wasn't working in the room so none of the wax was setting. This resulted in multiple attempts which is never fun : ( In summary, I would love to live at Rasa. It's my go-to spot when I'm incredibly tense or need a reward! I brought my 2 sisters there as a birthday gift to them. The person at the front desk was very friendly & helpful. The facility was beautiful, comfortable and everyone was very professional. The 3 of us wanted to be in the same room to get foot massages together and although Rasa Spa doesn't normally put 3 people in the same room, they were happy to accommodate our request. The masseuses were talented, friendly and knowledgeable. Over all, the experience was beyond our expectations and we would all recommend Rasa Spa to anyone looking for an affordable, relaxing experience!!! read more

I have had two great experiences at RASA Spa and I am already looking forward to coming back when I visit Ithaca in the Spring. The atmosphere is very nice including the reception area with merchandise, the locker/shower facilities, the tranquility room and amenities. I would definitely recommend taking some extra time before and after your services to enjoy some of their amenities. The massage therapists were very professional and paid attention to my needs and special requests and offered some advise after the massage. Simply excellent, as always! Rasa is top of my list when I visit family in Ithaca. The spa is refreshingly unpretentious, sparkling clean facility but still comfortable, welcoming to all types of clients, professional and talented therapists/aestheticians. It's wonderful to cozy up with a blanket and cup of tea in the Tranquility Room before or after your service. This particular visit I enjoyed the Japan Red Flower Ritual - an amazing experience featuring a scrub, (shower interlude in the treatment room to rinse it off) and unique massage. Amazing smells abound! Katie was a pro - repeatedly adjusting the table heater to my preference, draping to keep me at ease, working on tight spots and melting away holiday stress. I like to go early and shower, sauna, lotion up, and then get some reading done in the lounge area, which is great. Have gone in for facials - and recommend the 'results driven facial' if you want to look glowy and refreshed. Haven't found an esthetician there who is aggressive enough with extractions, but that doesn't steer me away. Convenient location, great product line, and nice staff. read more

Well... I went there for my birthday on Valentine's Day earlier this year because my girlfriend had bought us a couples massage and we got there on time as scheduled and didn't end up getting In until 15 minutes after we got there since my gf had to fill out paper work. we ended up getting a 15 minute massage but paid for a 30 and when I asked to see the manager to sort it out and ask if we could just pay for the 15 minutes she said she couldn't do it and gave me all sorts of problems.. I had a terrible experience there for my birthday and they charged me for a half an hour when I only got a 15 minute massage and the manager there was very rude... I think maybe they should let people know to get there early if that's the case or maybe not charge people for the time they weren't getting a massage. In any case I'm not going back there. read more

I was easily able to set up an appointment for a massage, just a day ahead of time, online, exploring times, locations, and well- described therapists. Email confirmation and intake form made my arrival even easier, and kept my focus on a relaxed experience. I had a massage with Valerie Potter who was excellent. I came here to get my eyebrows waxed and I was pretty disappointed. The aesthetician wore latex gloves, which was new to me for an eyebrow waxing. And hey, I'm all for preventing the spread of blood-borne pathogens, but the gloves were just really awkward and uncomfortable to me. They felt really strange on my face and it seemed like she was having a difficult time maneuvering with them on. After she was done I took a look in the mirror and had to ask her to even my eyebrows out. She had left some stray hairs on one brow. I guess I'm still on the hunt for a decent eye brow wax in Ithaca! read more

The massage was typical, it wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was decent. My therapist was great (Renee). The tranquility room would have been nice, except the 4 chatty ladies in there made it far from tranquil. I can normally handle a bit of noise (I've lived in college dorms for the past 4 years), but these ladies were talking about how rich and awesome they were, and how they just must get together at some dinner place. I have been to Rasa 3 times (once for a leg wax, and twice for eyebrow waxes). They use high quality products, and the environment is pleasing. The cucumbers in the drinking water is a nice touch. There is a relaxation/reading room with a big window with a nice view. Both eyebrow waxes were just okay. The person waxing my brows did not do so with much artistry, and seemed nervous and tentative. She wanted me to hold a card up to my brows in front of a mirror at various angles to show her exactly where I wanted hair removed. If I I wanted to have to make such determinations to that degree of detail I would do my own waxing. read more

Experienced massage therapists and a peaceful tranquility room Rasa spa has everything you need from facial treatments to Swedish or sports massage. They also provide a decent facility for relaxation with a couple showers and a sauna and plenty of lockers. The staff is courteous and if you find the right therapist for your needs everything is good. The only downside is the price, which is a bit expensive. An hour for a massage is the best to work out your stretched muscles and that comes to around a $100-10 with the tip. read more

I recently treated myself to a massage at Rasa Spa, and it was a very pleasant, relaxing experience...until I returned to my locker and discovered that someone had stolen all my cash from my wallet (but luckily nothing else). I know I had locked it, though the locks can be a little finicky, so who knows whether the mechanism took properly. I immediately reported the theft to the police as well as to the staff, who offered apologies but nothing else. The spa's owner said she would discuss the situation with the full staff and get in touch with me personally over the next few days. I never heard back. I don't believe I will return to Rasa, given this lack of follow-up. Please make sure you keep your valuables in a safe place or leave them at home. read more

Don't let all the bells and whistles fool you. Sure it's great to be greeted with sandals and a robe and to be brought into a "tranquility" room but the facial that I received was less than par. I have tried many places and have received lots of facials and this is by far the worst. When I leave a facial I want my skin to feel clean and to glow...I left with my skin feeling and looking the exact same. To make it worst, the massage portion of the facal was nothing more than tapping my skin...yes, tapping. Rasa has a beautiful facility and should receive 1 star for that and that alone. read more

My massage which I communicated clearly to my therapist was suppose to be relaxing, was awkward and physically "weird?" and left me unable to do normal activities for 2 weeks now. She had a really great understanding of acupressure points and was able to really help relieve a lot of pain/tension I've been having in my neck/shoulders. Rasa is a lovely oasis of calm in the midst of a hectic life. As soon as you enter the changing room, complete with sauna, you can feel the stress start to shed. Lounging in the resting area all wrapped up in a robe, sipping tea, and watching the boats paddle in the inlet outside is soothing by itself, particularly on a subzero winter day. Add a massage (I've never had a bad one there) or a facial, and you leave feeling relaxed and fortified. It's a fun place to come with friends, but it's a quiet environment, not really suited for giggles or raucous groups. There is even a small room for meditation off of the lounge. read more

I used Rasa Spa for a private yoga session. A lovely staffer there, Abigail, coordinated with me in advance to set up the perfect session for me and a small group. It was very well-priced and the payment procedure so so smooth and easy. I can't wait to head back to Ithaca and use this spa and instructor again. My instructor Sarah Worden was in-cre-di-ble. She clearly taylored the session to our level of experience. She was so kind and warm and engaging. She lead the yoga lesson so seamlessly and beautifully. We all truly enjoyed every moment and were so restored and rejuvinated! It made me want to do yoga more regularly. This was such a memorable and fantastic experience.
