When I picked up the car and began driving it home, it immediately started running roughly and the check engine light began blinking -- indicating an active misfire. This serious issue did not exist when I originally brought the car in. I returned the vehicle the next business day. Rather than re-checking their work or considering that these symptoms appeared immediately after the fuel pump repair, the shop diagnosed a completely different issue (spark plugs) and charged me an additional $900. What was most frustrating was being told that these were "two separate problems," that the timing was "just a coincidence," and that it was reasonable to pay full price for both repairs -- even though the second issue only appeared after the first repair and was not caught during the initial diagnosis. While it was acknowledged that it was highly unlikely the spark plugs happened to fail on the exact same day as the fuel pump replacement, the shop refused to consider the possibility that something was missed or that something occurred during the repair. After posting a review, the owner publicly stated that he hoped to discuss the matter further and work toward a resolution. I followed up with a direct email, but more than two weeks passed without any response. Given the lack of follow-through, I have filed a formal complaint with the New York State DMV so that a neutral third party can review the situation and find a resolution. I am sharing this experience so future customers are aware -- not only of the repair outcome, but also of what happened afterward. I expected the shop to stand behind its work when new problems appeared immediately following a major repair. That did not happen here, and I cannot recommend this shop.

Kenta Bond, the owner of this shop is a man of high integrity. He also is a master of customer service. I call him a dinosaur because, even though he is a rather young person, he provides "old time" customer service. His pricing is extremely competitive - better than many - and he truly cares about his customers. The other day he stayed late to make sure my car repair was complete. It was not a simple repair. The car needed an axle. The parts supply house was very late getting him the needed part so Mr. Bond actually got in his car and went to the supply house and picked up the part himself. That pushed the repair completion time back. However, Mr. Bond stayed about an hour past usual closing time to get the job done for me. He does high quality work and is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Please help support this small local business. He needs the support far more than the big chain repair shops in the area and his price markups are far less than theirs!

About 2 weeks later the car developed an oil leak from the area of the crankshaft seal and or the timing cover as well as the front valve cover gasket, all of which he had to change. I paid James 900 dollars cash and I supplied the parts needed to do the job. Now after 2 weeks of text messages and 2 or 3 phone calls to my place of employment, James said he has not forgot about me. I have now taken the vehicle to another mechanic for the repairs. This review is not about Capital Tech itself but the mechanic. I am expecting these repairs to cost another 300 to 500 dollars on top of the almost 1600 parts and labor already spent. They told my nope. My tires were good. Another routine service. The dealer said I needed new brakes. Labarges agreed, but half as expensive. Most recently. My fan was making a weird noise so I thought they might cover the repair since I was at 40k miles, just outside the warranty of course. They also noticed my state inspection was overdue. Had to pay the dealer a $189 "diagnostic fee" to discover it was just acorns clogging a filter so I needed a need filter and of courses the acorns removed. $21 for state inspection which is failed because I didn't realize this, but I had two chipped taillights (my daughter is 17 and I'll leave it at that) so I'm $250 into the dealer and they tell me it's another $700+ to repair the taillights. So I stop at Labarges. They tell me to go to a junk yard or eBay and order a left inner and a right outer tail light and they'll pop them in for me. $155 on eBay brand new. And I happened to have a slow leak so they said that the sensor is starting to go, it he cleaned it up, but the aluminum sensors are garbage so they wanted me I'll likely need to replace them eventually. Charge to replace the headlights, cleanup sensor, and repair slow leak. $50 because it took them 30 minutes to do all that work. They charge you for the time they spend. A novel thought no? For anyone looking for a mechanic, why go anywhere else? They saved me over $1,000 on my most recent visits from what the dealer wanted to charge me.
