I was very satisfied with how fast they fixed it, and the price for all the labor to replace it. They're very professional, and will call you with updates about services they're doing to your car. I've been taking vehicles to Joe for 12 years now, and I suppose that is sufficient testimonial in itself. In that time, my family has owned 7 different vehicles, made by Chrysler, Chevrolet, and Toyota, and Joe has yet to tell me there was something he couldn't do. He has also never come even close to the prices everyone else is charging. Recently, my wife was quoted in excess of $500 for brakes and rotors by another shop. Joe's price: $350. He also noticed that my inspection was overdue, so he did that as well, bringing the grand total to around $375. He will make the phone call to you and honestly tell you that something is going to need doing soon. He'll tell you that you don't need it right now, but he can do it now if you want him to, and let you make the decision. No fairy stories about the horrible state your vehicle is in, and that you need $1000 of repairs every time you go in there for an oil change. At one point, my oldest son was chomping at the bit to buy a car, and we took it to Joe on the test drive. He crawled all over it for about 20 minutes, and told me that it wasn't a good buy. He didn't charge me a penny for looking at it, and I didn't buy it. He could have made a fortune keeping that car running, and he told me not to buy it. He makes suggestions, gives you options and will try his hardest to help you keep your repairs within your budget. A rare gem, and I would recommend him highly to anyone.

They itemized all sorts of small charges on the bill for things like lube that would be normally be included with the shop labor rates. So it's labor plus a bunch of little charges that eventually add up plus the parts. My recommendation would be to specifically ask if they need to install the "premium" parts or if there is a good quality substitute for the extra expensive premium parts. They installed all premium parts without asking or anything (smart on their part, I don't blame them) so at the end it was much more pricey than expected. I am definitely satisfied with the quality of the work, but it cost me a pretty penny. If money wasn't an issue for me at all, this shop would definitely be my go to for everything from routine to big problems. What I can say is that when you have no idea what's wrong with your car and it's making awful noises, they can quickly pinpoint the issue and get you back on the road in no time. So if a higher price point isn't an issue, and the priority is to fix the issue and fix it RIGHT, Whalen is definitely a great choice.
