It was an emotional moment for me but these hackers saved my life, they were able to pull back all my transactions in a couple of hours without upfront payment and I got the exact amount I lost. I called this company and Proven Data Recovery today, and both phone numbers sent me to the same receptionist who just answers with "data recovery". When I called Proven, she hung up after I started talking (it's possible that the call was disconnected, but my guess is that she recognized me from calling this company). She asked for my name, phone number, email address, and type of drive to set up a case, and said that someone would get in touch. She was clear that they don't do data recovery locally -- the drive is sent out. Ultimately, even though their website mentions "NYC" 23 times, this place felt like a "shell" for a reseller or other non-local data recovery service.

Threw it into a ziploc bag with some silica gel packets and brought it to Eddy when I got home. He let me know right away that it was a 50/50 shot for anything involving water damage, especially with saltwater - but I figured it was worth a shot. 24 hours later, he had successfully removed any corrosion internally he found and replaced the screen - and now my phone works good as new. Perfect outcome!

I dont think I have ever had a worse experience with a small business than I had here. I first came…read morehere on a Friday afternoon to see if they could fix a screen issue I was having with my phone. The person behind the counter (the owner) said that he could order a screen today and have it done by tomorrow, around 1:30pm. I asked him how he knew it would be done by 1:30 tomorrow if the parts still had to be delivered and he answered that it was a regular delivery service so he knew how they worked. I left my phone with him and told him to just email me when he was done so I could pick it up tomorrow afternoon. The next day he emails me one sentence saying that the parts would not be delivered until Monday. At this point, I'm annoyed I wasted a day when I specifically inquired about the delivery times, and could have gone somewhere else to get this taken care of, on Friday. I went back to the store to just pick up my phone so I could find a quicker solution. When I arrive he has my phone in front of him, taken apart. I told him I couldnt wait until Monday so I just wanted my phone back. He tells me that there's no other place that can get it faster anyway (lie), I tell him it doesn't matter, because I already wasted a day after he had lied about the timeframe and now I just wanted my broken phone back. He then asks me if I want him to put the separate parts of my phone in a bag, and I told him I wanted my phone back the way I handed it to him yesterday. He tells me this is *impossible* because he already took off the screen and it has *shattered* and it *is in the garbage*. I'm already annoyed by the fact that he lied about the service he was promising, and now he had created a brand new problem. I'm not sure if he thought this move would make me just throw my hands up and be like oh, okay, well I guess I'll stick with you, and just happily wait an additional two days for a screen replacement?! He then (finally) offered to source the parts locally for *more money* - but only after what started to become an unnecessarily hostile exchange where he reminded me I was "lucky" he was trying to help me at all due to my "attitude." ...my attitude being complete shock that he took it upon himself to further destroy my phone? I explained that while I came here with one problem (a screen that didn't work) he had created this new problem for me, and was refusing to admit that he did the wrong thing. I told him i just wanted what was left of my phone in a bag and that I regretted ever trying to support his business, to which he responded with "that's fine, I dont need your support, I have plenty of support."  I'm really not sure how places like this stay open and I told him that, also pointed out his complete lack of customer service skills to which he said "i dont give a shit about customer servicing you." He then called me immature and selfish for not wanting to wait the additional two days and still pay the originally quoted price.  Save yourself the stress and avoid this place when it comes to important electronics. I ended up going to The Fix in Queens Center Mall after leaving here with my parts in a bag; they were professional and fast and didn't even insult me!
