Took my mini-van in for a transmission filter and fluid change. Guy tried to sell me a…read more'transmission flush' to which I said absolutely not. Left it overnight and went picked it up the next day. It was outside so I took a look underneath and saw that the transmission pan and gasket was untouched- RED FLAG! So I went inside to pay and asked him how they can change the filter without removing the pan. The guy said they did a 'flush'. I just stood there in disbelief, waiting quietly for some other answer, nada. I said 'do you remember when I told you yesterday that I wanted the filter and fluid changed and not flushed'? It took a moment for it to sink in until he said yes. I left it another day, checked it again and just like that there's a new gasket on the pan. I went in to pay and chat. He said 'yah, the filter was dirty and he cleaned out the pan'. Well after another 150,000 miles of trouble free service I gave my beloved Plymoth mini van away to someone down on their luck that drove it another 60,000 miles before the body had rusted away. I'm sure the engine and transmission were transplanted and gave a little more life into another body. Someday we will meet again. Oh, and for Croteau's customers, be patient, polite and insist on a new filter and fluid.

I went to the garage that sold it to me and he very graciously bought it back from me. He had it looked at and it was the solenoid that needed replacing....$3600 less to do this work. I am very disappointed and will never recommend them to anyone. As a place that works only on transmissions I believe this is a huge error. They did get it in to look at in a timely manner.

Yea KZ, you know who I am. That little red car you butchered. When I picked it up it had a deep dent in the nose and deep scratches on the trunk. The car only weighs just over 2000 lbs. The parking lot is flat. You didn't need to push the car very hard to move it. Some asshole shoved the car into another car's trailer hitch. The dent is over 1/2" deep. You can see the roundness of the dent that clearly shows that it was smashed into a trailer hitch. Additionally, the same asshole dragged his finger's into the trunk paint. The car has a bumper moron. Why the hell did you need to drag your fingers down the trunk lid? I am convinced that this car was damaged on purpose. All that said I will never ever take a car there again. I recommend you find someone else to repair your car given my experience.
