Unfortunately, after literally years of requesting completion, my project was left unfinished. The ductless a/c and heating units work but the outside covers are not placed over plastic tubing hanging off the walls. It looks ridiculous. This is shameful work. Despite several requests for replacement of some damaged parts, I've received no response. Because he started well, I paid in full too soon. BIG MISTAKE. LONG POST but PLEASE READ: First off I do not know how this company has such high ratings but let me tell you my experience with them. I used Rapid for a new central AC install a few months back. Someone I know actually recommended them and the reviews seemed good, so what could go wrong right?. As I have 3 small children and the weather was getting hot I needed to act sooner than later. Rapid got back to me and was able to start work soon. Price seemed reasonable so I went ahead and gave them the job. The day of the install a guy named Malik and another fellow came. They worked pretty much all day to finish the job. Once they were done they told me the job was complete and to enjoy the AC. I took their word for it as I don't know anything about HVAC installation. BUT since that day, things took a turn for the worst! A week after the initial job I noticed water marks on my bathroom ceiling. I knew it had to be the AC because my unit is located on my 2nd floor attic. I called them up and Malik showed up the next day to take a look. He immediately told me he knew "what was wrong" and began to "fix it". He told me the drain was turned the wrong way and now its fixed. Ok, so basically he didn't do the job right the first time. Fine, all good. He left. I ended up fixing the ceiling up myself. Another week goes by and I notice that one of my upstair bedrooms wasn't cooling much. I went into the attic area where they installed and noticed a rip in one of the duct work. It wasn't like that before until they had been up there installing the unit. It had to have happened from them either laying on it or stepping on it. So I called Malik up, he came by a few days later and taped up the ripped area of the duct. Another week or two goes by and I again notice water marks on my living room ceiling this time. And for some reason the AC installation did not come to mind, as they were here multiple times since the first leak. I called my plumber to come and check to see if it was leak from the upstairs bathroom. The day he came to check, part of the ceiling collapsed onto the floor dropping sheet rock and water onto my living room floor. THANK GOD my kids were not home at the time. Immediately we both go upstairs and he confirms that it was in fact coming from the AC unit. I immediately call Corey (the owner) infuriated to tell him what his company has done to my house and to come right away. He comes with one of the initial workers that was at my house. He blamed a clogged drain for the problem, while there was never any issue of leaks or clogs prior to them coming to my house. They never put a drip pain under the unit which is standard. Even if there was a "clogged drain" that is something they should have addressed and fixed the first day they were here, which they didn't do! From then it was a lot of back and forth with me and Corey. He came a couple days later with a drip pain and did some plumbing work. Ok, I assume all is good now what about my ceiling? He never came through on his word to get that repaired for me. I was sitting with a hole in my ceiling for over a week. He never sent anyone to fix it. Mind you, I DID NOT CAUSE MY CEILING TO COLLAPSE. The poor "work" of his guys caused that to happen. Malik was here to check the first leak, how come he didn't look around to see if there were any other issues or leaks? It's called unprofessional-ism and poor craftsmanship! In the end I paid money out of my own pocket to have my ceiling repaired. Because of them my children were exposed to potentially harmful odors, dust and particles from the open ceiling! I ABSOLUTELY REGRET using this company! PLEASE USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK! I do NOT want what happened to me and my family to happen to anyone else. As a final result, yes the AC is working fine and my family is not sweating to death. Corey ultimately fixed the problems, wish it was him who came to install in the first place. But it should have been installed right the FIRST time and not the FOURTH time! Goodluck! read more

Our AC went out in the middle of the heat wave last week. My husband was calling around for last minute ac repair and everyone was booked for a few weeks out. He called Rapid and we were expecting to wait at least a few days before they can come by but to our surprise, they said they could come in 30-45 minutes (New Hyde Park) since they were in the area. They came in 25 minutes, diagnosed the problem which turned out to be a blown transformer to which they already had the part on hand to replace it with. Everything took a little less than an hour. After they swapped out the transformer, he went outside to inspect the condenser and did a refrigerant test. Not only were the prices fair, the two people that helped us, Corey and Malik, were very courteous, professional and thorough with their work. Corey is fantastic! He was the only person who was able to solve my parents' heating problem. My parents had a new boiler installed last year but one of the zones never got heat. The original installer couldn't figure out the problem and refused to take responsibility. They had several other HVAC guys come to fix the problem, but none of them could figure out the problem or solution. These were all recommendations through word of mouth. I finally took over and found Corey b/c of all his rave reviews from various sites. Corey came the same day (on a Saturday) and immediately figured out the problem in 15 mins and fixed it w/in an hour. Next time Corey would be the first person we would call and save us all the headache and trouble dealing w/ other incompetent HVAC guys. read more

I used Rapid Heating and Cooling to install a water boiler that was leaking. Corey did a fantastic job at a really competitive price. Then I gave him a much bigger job, outfitting my home with ductless Air Conditioning. He installed a quality brand with a great warranty in every room in the house. He brought in a professional crew who did the entire job in one day. I've been using the units for three months with no problems. Everything looks great. The units are very energy efficient and do an outstanding job cooling the house. My electric bill went up very little. I couldn't be happier with his work. I highly recommend his business. read more

After I attempted to install a smart thermostat, my gas boiler stopped working. Carey and his team came to my home, performed a through diagnostic review and determined that one of the two transformers was not necessary to operate my boiler. They were able to eliminate the faulty transformer and correct the wiring. They had my furnace functioning within 20 minutes of their visit. Carey and team were attentive and professional. Cory and his guys are TERRIFIC. Had a whole-house humidifier installed and a new hot water heater. Cory was always on time and unbelievably courteous. The prices were very fair, considering the amount of communication that they had with me. Rapid followed up with me a month later and came back out to adjust and enhance the system.
