This place has gone downhill badly and they have added scammers to their repertoire as well. The new gimmick is to start your oil change, then tell you they don't have the right oil for the car and it will be like $100 for the synthetic oil they have that will work for your car. See, they've already drained your oil and you can't really drive it away bone dry, so you're SOL and at their mercy now. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

When you move to a new area you take for granted all the routine tasks that you have to perform on an occasional bases. One of these tasks being getting an oil change. When the time came to take in my Saturn Ion for her needed upkeep, I decided to give this place a try after getting their flyer in the mail. If you've gone to one quick oil change place, then you've gone to them all. Standard pull your car into the garage, get out, and tell them what you want. This place has a waiting room, but it isn't marked, so I stood on a doormat by the door. This is usually against the rules due to insurance reasons, but nobody said anything to me. Standard process, they checked all my fluids during the change. They asked me if I wanted to have my brake fluid topped off and I said yes. After they completed the services, they vacuumed out my car. When I got the bill, it was a little higher than I was expecting. They charged me for a bottle of brake fluid. This is usually an included service at most places. It wasn't much, so I let it go since they did vacuum out my car and the service was quick. Paid the clerk and got into my car. What did I find there? Half a bottle of brake fluid. My feeling of getting hustled was gone. I will repeat. read more

I have went to Rantoul Express for several years and never had an issue until Saturday, Nov 23, 2019. I took my truck into Rantoul Express for an oil change. As driving home, about 5 mins after leaving the shop, I noticed they had messed up my tint on the window and had not told me. I went back to the location where the individual working the counter went back and asked the employee if indeed he had messed up the tint when taking off the old sticker and did not tell anyone. The employee stated yes. I kindly asked that they fix the tint on my window that the employee mistakenly and admittingly messed up. The individual working the counter stated they would talk to corporate. Corporate has declined to fix the issue their employee caused! I will no longer be taking my vehicles or work vehicles into this location as they have acknowledged their mistake but refuse to take responsibility and fix it! I will also be posting this review on several other sites and discourage individuals from going there. read more

I have always trusted the guys at the Rantoul Express Lube when taking my vehicles in for service. Just recently I received the recommended service of a transmission flush, and decided to do the transmission pan service at the same time. I'm very impressed with the service, and ever since I've had the transmission service my shifting has been more crisp and smooth. I will never take my vehicles anywhere else. I highly recommend anybody to take their vehicles to this location, and make sure to pick up a car wash token for the Rantoul Express Wash for a nice clean shine! read more

They should not have the word EXPRESS in their business name. This isn't even a matter of them going slow to get the job done correctly, it's about workers who need to actually move faster and stop standing around talking!! Went here for an oil change. The guy pulled my car out after I paid, I pulled off and felt something in the tire. I pulled into the gas station and saw a shiny bolt in my tire. After arguing with me (both the store manager and the general manager), the general manager agreed to pay for it to get repaired. He gave me his card and told me where to go and to bring back the receipt. I took it to get repaired and was informed that due to the placement of the bolt, it could not be repaired and the tire had to be replaced. I picked out the cheapest tire for my compact car, presented the bill, and the manager called me and told me he wouldn't pay for it. I informed him that he could call the place that replaced the tire and they could confirm for him that the tire could not be repaired. He refused. He was rude to me from beginning to end. My husband said not to count on it that he would stick to his word, and he was right. Terrible experience. read more

I wish I had the option to put zero stars. My husband brought his truck to this establishment for an oil change and a transmission flush. Instead of flushing the transmission the proper way they decided to save some time by cutting the transmission cooling line to flush it and installed a 3/8 inch hose with hose clamps to repair their little shortcut. We had no idea they did this until we were driving on the interstate and the transmission oil exploded everywhere because the hose they had installed fell apart. We were lucky my husband was able to gain control of the truck, it was raining at the time and the oil made the truck slide all over the road. We were then stranded for hours at a truck stop on a Sunday in the middle of nowhere. We eventually brought it to the shop for repair and it's going to cost us $600, plus the price we paid for the transmission flush from express lube, plus the $100 of oil we had to put back into the transmission after he realized what had happened while we were stranded, plus the two hours he missed at work going back and forth from the repair shop. We kindly informed express lube of what had happened and they refuse to help us, so now I will be informing rantoul chamber of commerce and better business bureau. Beware of this place!! read more
