I dropped in for lunch and ordered a Mexican food plate. The food was delicious, and the salsa and chips were very good. I will be back.

This is as close to authentic, fresh and made from scratch Mexican food and American food you can get. It was nice surprise to go there for lunch with my family and friend after Thanksgiving. I went with the Carne Gusada plate and it was money! I couldn't wait until the next morning so I could grab a huge Bacon, egg & bean breakfast burrito. The burger my son and friend got are made from scratch and look like 1/2lb patties with fresh cut fires! You can not beat this price and the friendly staff. Don't get into a rush here it does take some time to get the food but it is well worth the wait. Oh and the salsa has just the right amount of heat. My family and I will be back next time we visit. Be sure and stop by if you're visiting, hunting, fishing or just passing through you "won't be DISAPPOINTED". read more

While traveling my husband and I had lunch at this little quaint Mexican Restaurant in Sterling City, TX. The food was made fresh, each plate. I cannot tell you how good it was. Went and had no issues during dine in, food was good, waitress was nice, but 4 days afterwards saw that my card was ran multiple times. Contacted the establishment multiple times and the employees kept telling me it was an issue the owner would have to take care of. Finally after the 5th call, they told me the time that the owner would be there the following week. Called during that time and was finally able to talk to the owner Anna and she told me that she only charged my card once and that if she gave me my money back she would just be out the money she refunded me and she wouldn't do it. I stated well I dont know how you would be "out" any money if the money was taken out of my account and sent to ur business for 2 seperate transactions (1 was the amount plus tip and the other for the total without tip)... Even after offering to show her my bank account showing the double charge... So now I'm sitting on hold with the bank on hold (for the last 30 minutes) trying to get them to resolve it, when she could have easily not wasted my time and hers and done the right thing, especially if I have proof and offered to show it... very disappointing, especially for a small town business that I was trying to support versus just stopping by the DQ, not knowing what kind or quality of food we would get... read more

This was my worst restaurant meal in years. My friend and I went yesterday for brunch. The service was really slow. We waited about 15 minutes for menus alone. We both ordered Migas Mexicanos and waited and waited. When the food came out it had no flavor at all. The eggs had onions, peppers, tomatoes and corn tortillas. No cheese on top as the menu stated. When the waitress brought our food I said I thought it came with cheese and she said "No, it doesn't". (Later I looked at the menu again and it definitely said with cheese.) How could it have onions/tomatoes/jalepenos and still have no flavor? The re-fried beans were fresh out of a can and again had NO flavor at all...not even salty! The (home fries) potatoes on the side were apparently baked as they were soft and then tossed in lots of oil but they were not the slightest bit browned and they were barely warm. What's up with that?? When I gave my order I requested to have corn tortillas on the side instead of flour. I let the server know that I was allergic to wheat and asked to have mine separated from the flour tortillas that my friend was getting. She said, "no problem". When our food did finally come out (an hour after we arrived), the waitress tells me that the cook couldn't separate the the corn tortillas from the flour as "they didn't have enough tortilla holders"... REALLY?? At this point there was only one other tortilla holder in the dining room, it was on an empty table that had not been cleaned. Umm, you're a Mexican Food restaurant. You only have two tortilla holders? The best part was that they had put a paper liner in the bottom of the holder. Could they not have separated them with paper or foil? When we went to pay our tab (neither one of us ate our food) the cashier never asked us how our food was or anything. I can imagine no one who works their wants to ask that question! I politely told her our food was not good and she gave a small shrug and told us the total. We paid and left. So disappointing as this restaurant used to have really good food. I guess this is what happens in small towns where restaurants have no competition at all. :-( Since I had to give it at least one star to rate, I did. Stopped at Rangels while in Robert Lee to visit family. Four of us sat down for lunch on October 19, 2016. It's a small, simple restaurant that only had two other diners when we visited. Decent selection of Mexican food and good portions. Food tasted ok, not amazing. I had the steak, chicken and shrimp tortillas. Waitress was very friendly and courteous. We left with take home containers. Unfortunately, 24 hrs later, myself and another of our party got sick. We experienced severe food poisoning. Unable to eat, barely able to drink water with a fever. It's been about 24 of severe illness and it's finally beginning to break. Once I finally began severely vomiting, I felt a lot better after. Myself and the other food poisoned diner only had one other meal somewhere else and no one we were with, got sick. I asked some locals and they said they've heard of others getting food poisoning there. read more
