I came to town from California in an emergency to be with my elderly father who was in Shannon ICU the week before Christmas. I didn't know your town, I drove around looking for Mexican food that could compare to California, until I found this hidden gem. First and foremost the customer service is something I've never experienced in my 42 years of life. As soon as you walked through the door, Brian, greeted me and from that second made me feel like long lost family. Very welcoming. It was a Sunday morning and he asked where I was from, I explained from where and why I was in town. Brian genuinely listened and he offered his prayers. You don't get this kind of service anywhere in California. It's true,Texas, people are so much nicer and hospitality really is something to be admired. I went to pay and Brian stunned me, when he wouldn't take my money and told me that I had bigger things to worry about than paying for my breakfast. After listening to me vent and pray for me and wouldn't take my money. This man really is a good human being. I'm telling you, shocked doesn't explain the feeling at that moment. I watched him interact with other customers and he was the same way being personable. Now the food could have been terrible and I would have still gave a good review just on customer service LOL, but seriously the Menudo was amazing, the broth , patas , homney, tripe and all. I'm a white guy and I come from a Hispanic community in Cali, I know ethnic. This is legit. It is very hard to find really good Menudo, but San Angelo it's right here. A local family restaurant which is in the very capable hands of the current owner. I enjoy the delicious breakfast served at this location and love to eat inside. The most foul meat was in the burritos that gave my husband and I the worst acidic reflux we have ever had that woke us out of our sleep. I should of known when I took the first bite out of the barbacoa burrito and it was pure lard. I didn't even attempt to try the egg and potato after my husband said the eggs had a slimy texture. Came in on Saturday with a small group of friends. We each got something different and we all really enjoyed our dishes. I got the Pollo Tacos Maria which came out hot and in a short amount of time. The chicken was diced, I was expecting shredded but it was flavored very well and was cooked nicely. There was a hefty amount of chicken as well as all the veggies on top. The onions seemed to have been slightly sautéed which was tasty. It came with sour cream and salsa. I ate the whole plate and was full for hours! I'm looking forward to my next visit. This is a small pot of of gold in the San Angelo food circle. It looks just like a little food joint nothing crazy, small food place. But once you get inside it really comes to life with family fun as customer care. I was welcomed right away. The person helping me had his daughter (?) who appeared to be 2-3 yrs old hugging and kissing his cheek. He was being and amazing dad she was definitely a daddy's little girl he and he able to run a restaurant while giving her quality time. I knew this would be a good place, it made feel at home. I thought I ordered 2 chicken tacos but what came out was like a burrito with just meat. I may have ordered wrong or that is what their tacos are. I did get onions and limes with jalapeño on the side, I thought was for the menudo, most likely it is my not knowing. I have had menudo broth and from a can. This authentic menudo had an amazing flavor from the first to last spoonful. The hominy and trips was tender and it felt great when I was done with my small bowl of menudo which was a good sized portion. Complimentary chips and salsa menudo and 2 chicken fajita tacos and a drink for $16.99 a great deal. I will be back and I recommend you stop for some great authentic Mexican food. Great little find in San Angelo while searching for "pancakes and burritos" on my Yelp app. We had breakfast burritos (SEC, BEC and Bacon & Potato) and all were good, but maybe a little dull when it comes to flavor. That's okay, because their salsa poured all over it saved the day- I could drink that stuff! Daughter had enchilada plate and said it was very good. I'm sad no one in our party actually ended up getting the pancakes because they looked fluffy and delicious when the food cart wheeled by. Cutest little girls over by the register must be staff children were being so well behaved and a super kind man working there seemed to know everyone and smiled constantly letting you know he loves his job. Delicious, authentic Mexican food in San Angelo! The staff here is absolutely wonderful and made me feel right at home. I ordered menudo and was told it was the best in the city. I could definitely see why! As soon as I sat down after placing my order, a waitress came and told me she would have chips out soon.She came back quickly with the most delicious and fresh chips and salsa I have ever had. When my menudo came it had little containers of chopped onions and green peppers and a lime. The menudo was very flavorful and rich down to the last spoonful. The tortillas that came along with it were fresh and warm. This was my first time trying menudo and I fell in love! All the staff here were incredibly friendly and constantly checked on me. They even used my name which was nice. This place well deserves all 5 stars! read more

I got home early from work and wife was craving Fuzzys for Mother's Day. we ordered online and it said it would be ready at 4:27. I left the house and got there right at 4:30. I told them my name and they looked confused. I said i had an online order. the lady behind the counter said oh looks like the online order never went through. even tho it charged my card and gave me a time to pick up the food. they said it was going to be another 20-25 min before my order was ready. I've got 3 kids at home and we are all hungry. they could tell I was a little angry and some guy behind the food counter talked loudly and said in a aggressive tone " if he don't wana wait he can just leave " we made eye contact when he said that and he walked away. i don't have time to wait around all day hence take out! so it's now 4:52 and still no sign of my food! We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast with a regular named Ricky who knew the owners fairly well. Got a steak fajita salad and the thing was far away from the typical fajita salad. The steak had a weird taste, it tasted more like cow's liver than steak itself. The salad seemed not too fresh, the leaves from the lettuce were getting very soft. My husband had a taco plate with Al Pastor meat, and that meat was far from being the authentic al pastor. First time we've been here and it was great. The guacamole was AMAZING which is always hard to find. The salsa was great too, spicy like we like it.
