Check before you hike as it's not a great hike if there's no falls. 5. Take the tram to the end and hike up and over to Hutch's Pool. Take the tram down. For the adventurous types. The tram is worth doing if you aren't going to hike up. You'll learn a lot from the headphone lecture. This is a must-see if you are visiting Tucson.

They said there is no entry fee right now. Unfortunately the surrounding area of the pool isn't great. They don't have an area to lay out (like grass) or chairs. There is one small bench in the shade. You should definitely bring your own folding chair. There is no snack bar. I didn't see any lockers.

Since we went during Easter weekend, they had hidden eggs around and our kids found one each and redeemed them for prizes- how cool, right? It was a decent size space with plenty of stuff for the kids to do. We have an 8 and 4 year old and both were able to play around and had a great time. The space was clean also, which is nice because you walk around in socks as a spectator and a participant. The virtual jumping game was something I haven't seen at other indoor parks. I've seen virtual games but not like this where they had an image of the jumper on the screen, it was really cool. I could definitely see having a birthday party there because it accommodates plenty and they have decent food.

I never had…read moreheard of it before, but one of my friends said it is a self guided tour that you can take downtown of all the historical landmarks to learn more about the history and the beginnings of Tucson. Starting at 196 Court St., one can follow the Turquoise trail for a 2 1/2 mile loop through downtown Tucson that features some of the original historical landmarks of the city as well as historical monuments. It is clearly marked by a painted turquoise stripe that runs along the sidewalk. It begins at the Presidio Museum, located at the northeast corner of the original Presidio San Agustin del Tucson which dates back to 1775. Also, there are self-guided walking brochures available at the Presidio Museum - 196 N. Court Ave.; Tucson Visitors Center - 115 N. Church Ave; Hotel Congress - 311 Congress St. or the Marriott Hotel - 151 E. Broadway Blvd. Even though I grew up in the city, I would walk it again and again as I feel I could never learn enough about the history and roots of this city.

Also, basically nothing is allowed in the cave. They had lockers that takes quarters but as far as I saw, no machine, you have to exchange with cash soooo prepare ahead. Leaving things in the car felt some what okay but not my favorite. I would appreciate if they had more security. They say they are not government funded so everything comes from public support. This was such a cool experience. You can tell the amount of work and detail they've put into the cave and preserving it. Truly different than other caves I've been to. There are two different parts of the cave you can choose from. If you can't do both my preference was the big room tour. I felt there was more to it, more things to see. Also, (sorry parents) perhaps the age limit made it more enjoyable too. Our tour guide Charles was INCREDIBLE. We did both tours back to back 0945 big room tour and 12 rotunda. Timing was perfect. Enough time to use the restroom and eat a snack. We brought our snacks, their cafe was closed. It would be an enjoyable experience to eat a packed lunch outside not sure if it's 100% allowed. Beginning of April was a GORGEOUS day. There's a McDonald about 12 min away. The big room tour is a man made/marked out, well paved easy walk/route. If you're worried about endurance or handiaccesible, it seems very accessible. The rotunda seemed a bit more incline but still well paved. You can wear white shoes and you wouldn't get dirty lol. I don't recommend open toes shoes/sandals because the Floor is very moist/wet. BOOK AHEAD. At least 2 weeks ahead to get the slots you want. If you're by yourself then a lot easier. It sells out quickly Restrooms were very clean and plentiful. As you wait for your tour guide before taking the tram to the cave there are another set of restrooms so that's appreciated. They want you to get there 30 min before. There really wasn't anything much to do ahead, it's just a simple check in. They have a mini museum that's nice to look around. You can get some good pictures outside prior or after the tour. Are both caves a must see, my bf says yes. I'm in between. If I would go back I would choose the big room tour again but that also has limited time opening due to the bats. As an AZ local or visiting this is a very enjoyable spot

You see structures that are a million years old. You see rock layers millions of years old. Everything about this experience forced me to reflect on my place in the universe. To expand on the bad, it was my first time bringing guest to this location and boy was it a nightmare. To be clear, I am aware that there are policies on how things are done especially for the guest situation. My issue wasn't with the process itself but with the staff and how they handled it. I had brought family who came to visit me and we were excited to get a pump in. I had to fill out a form and whatever else was necessary the day I brought them in. There was a lady at the front desk being trained and it's completely normal to not know how everything is done right away. She was being trained by another lady on the side. I wrote down all of the necessary information to get them in. It wasn't till two days after that I went in trying to bring only one of them in. We interacted with a lady, whom I didn't catch her name. She came off sarcastic, argumentative, and rude. We had pointed out the name on the screen that I had filled out on the initial application. My guest pointed it out first and she sarcastically pointed out the year and said "See that year? You're not that age, so it's not you." My email was clearly attached to the guest account. And I mentioned to her that a new person was working the day I brought my guest in and hadn't entered the information correctly. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. So it obviously wasn't our fault and was clearly on their part, she demanded that we redo everything and include even more information than before. I have no issue doing what's needed to be done but her bad attitude made me walk out with my guest. She clearly didn't care. She just slammed the paper back to its stack and said "ok." No attempt to reconcile or apologize for their mistakes. I go to that gym nearly every day and never had an issue with staff until her. She treated us like fools and acted as if we were trying to enter a top secret facility. I get taking your job seriously and doing an effective job, but doing it with a bad attitude and lack of respect for the customers and guests who go there is another thing. If any of you are looking for a place to take your mind off things or better yourselves, consider this recreation center. It's a great place but I implore you to watch out for that lady and bringing any guest in. She is the reason I gave it less than 5 stars. The other kind staff and good things are the reason I didn't give it 1 star. Now I know not to bring in any guest with me, which is unfortunate because having friends/family come with you is always enlightening. A big thumbs down to the lady at the front desk. Do better.

Or if you prefer, you can walk/run/bike along the wild side on the packed sand next to the paved trail weaving your way through the mesa verde trees and mesquite. Bring your dogs too, they'll also enjoy it. Most of the year, the river bed is dry and filled with scrub brush common in the Sonoran desert, but occasionally in the spring when the snow melts in the mountains, or during the summer monsoon season, the river will completely fill and the water will rage. Some have even been known to try riding a raft when the water reaches the banks. (FYI, don't do this! It isn't safe.) There are several city parks like Brandi Fenton where you can park and start your journey. Best to look at maps online to find the closest entry point and parking location convenient to you; as the park does cross over a lot of streets. In the distance, you will be able to enjoy the view of Mt. Lemmon and the rest of the Santa Catalina mountain range as it turns different hues of pink, red, orange, brown depending on the time of day you come. Sunrise in the summer months and sunset in the winter are great times to go in order to stay comfortable temperature wise. The trail was an almost daily staple in our lives when we lived here and walked the dogs along the trail or cycled and ran with friends. Even returning, while driving through town, we couldn't help but stop and take a stroll down memory lane by revisiting this lovely gem in Tucson.
