Pretty wonderful evening overall! We went for my kids school fundraiser event and we had a pretty enjoyable time. I would wonder if there would be options for more dairy free and or vegan based products in the snack area, but otherwise I had a pretty enjoyable time. My kids have been here before and enjoyed it as well. It felt pretty easy to get around, and I brought my own skates, but they do offer rentals as well as supportive stands for those who need it. There's a snack shop in a gift shop, and also a toy and candy vending area. Classic little arcade looking space with a wonderful skating rink at the main attraction. Really enjoyed the music selection, and the artwork on the walls were great. read more

My kids love going to skate country! They especially love the races and four corners (if your corner wins you get a free drink!!). During the day its only $5 or $6 to get in. Skate rental is $5 i think. They also have snacks and food like pizza, nachos, hot dog, and chicken strips. Also, if your looking for a spot for a birthday, we've gone to some birthday parties there and its so much fun! read more

Had a very fun experience here! Service was friendly, but sometimes inattentive at the concession and socks to purchase counter. Had to find an employee to help. Lockers are available to store belongings for $2 an hour. Skate rental & entrance are very reasonable! Music was perfect & family friendly on this weekday late afternoon. Rink and bathrooms were clean and had a fun vibe! Will definitely be returning! read more

Let's just say it's been awhile since I've skated but as soon as I got here it felt like I had been time warped back into my childhood skate days . I went here for a group outting and we all had a blast . DJ was great ! The admission , lockers $1 , & food were all affordable pricing . Plenty of space for seating & they offer a separate beginners area . Parking was easy , no issues . Staff were friendly .I'm knocking a star for caution tape in multiple locations blocking certain areas . It's not a good look for any business. It's nothing that would keep me from coming back for another visit . We all enjoyed skate country . read more

We came here for 2000's themed Roll Bounce party Saturday night. It look 3 tried to get decent skates. I finally realized there was hair stuck in the wheel which was why I couldn't turn. For future reference I am a size 7. I wish they had alcohol for late night skates. I did see a fight on the rink at some point between 2 women. Very odd. They do have lockers to rent, $1 an hour. read more

We had the BEST time celebrating our daughter's 5th birthday party at Skate Country! There is something beyond special getting to celebrate birthdays with my children at the same place I got to celebrate my birthday as a kid. Would highly recommend for a birthday party or just a fun time! The one thing I would request for future parties is more time for party set up- 5 minutes isn't enough time and can be stressful when guest arrive at the same time you are setting up. read more

Wholesome Family Fun! Great music! Fun decor! I loved Skate Country when I was a kid and now my children are enjoying it. Most days cost about $11 for the admission and skate rental. Some morning sessions (school holidays, summer breaks) cost about $5 or $6, which is a great deal. They also rent the skating helper things for $5, which was a necessity for my beginners. The carpeted areas are nice to start on, then advance to the small beginners area, before venturing to the full rink. The sessions end with races and games. The snack bar has snacks starting at $1, as well as food such as pizza, nachos, etc. I hope this place stays around for years! read more

I went here with some friends for adult night on Tuesday 8p-10p. The rink is such a fun vibe and I absolutely love the bright aesthetic and artwork throughout the venue. The cost was $11 to skate and rent skates which is a great deal. We had an absolute blast!! There's a mini area in the corner for beginners to practice which I highly appreciated. The DJ played a lot of newer hip hop music which received mixed reviews from our friend group, but didn't stop the skating nonetheless. They have food and drinks as well but strangely no French fries. I would definitely go again! read more

There are some awesome murals on the walls of various musicians and the music is always great! There are adult nights sessions as well as kid sessions as well. Fun for any group! You can check out their session hours online beforehand! Cost for admission as well as renting skates. Very affordable! read more

Came here with my friends for their late skate night from 10:30PM - 12:30AM and we had so much fun! I used to roller skate here when I was younger and it's nice to see they have done some renovations since then. They have a small skating rink off to the side for beginner skaters! Most of my friends spent their time there, while my other friend and I were the only seasoned skaters and did laps in the main skating rink. They have staff on the main rink supervising everyone and coming to people's aid if they fall! They also offer food, drinks, and hold birthday celebrations! The establishment did have a strange smell when I first walk in, but I'll likely come here again if they have another event! read more

Unsafe after 7 pm. We arrived for a kids birthday party at 7. There were at least 2 uniformed sheriffs there which was a little odd. They do a bag check but strangely no other check for weapons. My son (11 years) was threatened by a group of much older boys and punched in the stomach. We do not feel this was a safe place to be during those hours at all. IF we go back, and that's a big IF, it would not be at night. read more

The only downside of this place is that it is the ONLY option in Tucson that I know of. The kids have fun we went a lot in the summer time but haven't been able to go since because of the distance. One time we drove 40 min there only to find them being closed but not because of the business there was a road closure right in front of the building I'm sure they didn't have a choice. I wish they would have an Instagram that posted updates or answer their phones because I called before we left to make sure. When you're driving from the north side it's a gamble so I always call ahead to check hours when I'm traveling this far. I have seen the birthday parties there and those look fun too. I like the area for beginners so my youngest can have time to practice. It's definitely a fun activity for all ages! We will go back (: read more

Went here last week and as a Tucson native, was reminded of all the fun memories I had here as a child. This place has been here forever and I love that it still dons the same fun vibes and nostalgic layout! There's some newer additions like time-based lockers that you can access via panels on the end of them, as well as fun artwork on the floor as you make your rounds. Skate Country has a smaller practice rink, in case you need a bit more courage before you get in the floor, and it also has skate rental for only $5. I do wish they had inline skates for rental as well, but the ones they have work fine. They also have a snack bar, that does seem to offer less than I remember way back when, but still offers your general snack foods with the exception of fries which I was really surprised about lol. However they do have pizza, pretzels, chicken tenders, churros, nachos, soda, pickles, small variety of candy, and I think just 2 types of chips- regular lays and takis for some reason. They have adult skate night twice a week which is brilliant from 8-10 and judging from their website, they seem to have themed adult nights as well which look fun! I be back sometime, maybe for one of the themed nights! read more

Love the staff and the rink, but repetitive playlists need work. There are genres besides hip-hop and the same dozen pop songs.

We love love love Skate Country!! Ended up purchasing the summer pass and some wonderful skates from their ProShop. An incredibly affordable and healthy activity, especially when it's hot during the summer months. The staff are kind and helpful; apart from the snack bar. We've had some funny run ins with the snack bar employees being pretty checked out and unhelpful. Such a stark contrast to everyone else that works there. Worth getting the pizza and soda special! Also, the chicken sandwich meal is actually really tasty and priced right. Tucson wouldn't be the same without Skate Country! So grateful it's here and has rekindled my love of skating and my daughters new passion. Always a great group of people, all ages. read more

We went there for my daughter's 12 birthday yesterday (didn't have a party) just took her and a couple of her cousins to the 3-5 session and the girls were having fun, however every 20 mins or so skating time was interrupted to play a game, which was a bit annoying for those who prefer to just skate and not participate. It is cool that they do games and interact with guests but they played 3 to 4 games during the session and those who prefer not to play are forced to sit out which is a bummer. Also, my older son and his girlfriend surprised my daughter and showed up to bring her a gift and skate/hangout with her and whoever the blond lady conducting the games and running the music booth was had some type of problem with my son, she kept giving him the death stare and at one point even raised her arms/ hands as ppl do to gesture "what" during a confrontation. My son was next to me with his gf when this happened and had done nothing, the only thing he did was do the same hand/arm gesture back at her when she did to him. I asked my son what was happening and he was as confused as I was by the whole thing. He ignored her and didn't let her bother him and focused on what he was there for (his little sister) and whatever her problem was seemed to go away but something worth mentioning as it was extremely out of place, we were both taken back by the whole thing. read more

Such a great rink, I just wish I lived closer so I could go more often! It's usually pretty busy but not packed to the point where it feels too chaotic. Heck, I just threw myself a 40th birthday party, and my roller derby friends all approve! - Floor guards do a great job of keeping everybody safe - Skate floor is in good condition, if a bit slippery (painted concrete, you may want stickier wheels if you're a newbie) - Beginner area is good for practicing when you're just starting out - Gear lockers take debit cards, but it's generally pretty safe to leave your stuff on a table - Birthday packages are a really good deal, you get tables, soda, birthday shout-out, and a staff member to help out - Adult night on Thursdays has a fantastic groove read more

I have been here once with my daughter and we haD a blast. She was four and they offered this little walker roller things she could hold onto so that she wouldn't fall. The place was empty when we went which was a Tuesday during the day. For little kids I recommend bringing your own skates. I had rented her a pair and also had some fisher price ones in my purse for her and I ended up having to put the fisher price ones on her because the rentals were just too hard for her to use. read more

A great place to hangout with friends or a cute date night with your boo!! They have rental skates available for $4. You purchase a session to skate, which are in 2-hour slots. And it's honestly really worth it! The staff is nice and friendly. Everyone there is there to have fun. Whether they are beginners or pro-skaters! I went during the public skating session and it was very enjoyable. My fiancé and I fell a few times but that's part of it! The jams they played varied by genres and were all great. The food there is cheap and not bad either. They can do a bit better in maintaining cleanliness but it's understandable as groups of people are in and out of the skating/sitting area all day. I'm just super appreciative that they're up and operating during this COVID-19 time. Masks are required upon entering. PS. They also have different events on certain days of the week... such as Adult Night (18+), Family Night, and Dollar Night! Check out online for their monthly calendar. read more

Needing something to do to beat the heat. Haven't skated in 40 years so challenge on. Funny that they had just painted the half wall lining entrance to rink so everyone had lime green palms as you touch wall getting in and out of rink . Music was less than ideal , area tired cosmetically but had fun time . read more

Went for their trunk or treat tonight which was free trick or treating and skating. It was really well run, with a decent number of cars and good giveaways. The rink is very well run, with a great dj/emcee who played games and kept it running. Even crowded, it was manageable. They offer frames for little kids plus a separate practice rink which is nice for young kids. And of course the snack bar is a visit to my youth - slurpees, licorice and popcorn. My only complaint is about the other guests. I was very surprised by the amount of cussing I heard from the adults. Some serious profanity was going on. Also, some of the tween kids who obviously go there a lot aren't very safe in how they skate, and no parents (or staff) reigned them in. Cant wait to go when it's not a free night, and I'm assuming will be a little crowded. read more

I love skating at Skate Country! There are lots of regulars, and also lots of new skaters, and it's fun to meet new people, or you can just do your own thing. You can request songs and specials. Some Helpful Tips: - Some sessions have games like 4 corner dice, and if you don't want to participate, you don't skate So, a great time to take a stretch, snack, or potty break. - Some sessions have tiny skaters, so be sure to be aware of your surroundings. - No outside food is allowed, but the snack bar has lots of fun items! (And if you win the 4 corner dice game, you get a drink from the snack bar). - There's a smaller rink for practicing, or you can get a SkateMate to help your balance. But, if you put your hands on your thighs, bend your knees, step forward with one foot, push off the back foot, and then continue, you'll be skating in no time! (The trick is to not lean back... and if you fall, "fall small" so your fingers don't get skated over). - Many of the skate guards (employees who are in the Music Box or on the skating floor), and some of the veteran skaters are willing to provide tips to skating! Go get your skate on! Support this local business! read more

All the positive things people are saying about Skate Country are totally true. I recently went there with my daughter for a birthday party and we both had a blast. The place was clean and well taken care of. They don't have 1/2 sizes so we had to try on a few pairs, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. This was my daughter's first time roller skating so I spent the $5 to get a "skate buddy." Basically a walker on wheels so she wouldn't perpetually be falling. Love that they have a beginners area off to the side to help you get the feel for being on skates. We went from the beginners area to me pushing her to eventually her using the skate buddy to skate on her own. Super proud of how she didn't give up. There was pizza, soda and popcorn served. They were all decent and tasty. Our group also ordered the cotton candy towers and those were crazy. So much sugar coursing through all those little kids. There were at least 5 birthday parties that afternoon and each kids got a brief interview from the dj and got a song dedicated to them. There were a few group games, age based races and a cha cha/ dance time to wrap up the time. This would be a great place to stay cool during the summer and was surprisingly fun as an adult. Definitely recommend checking this place out!!! read more

Although we had a fairly good time, this place is kind of a disaster. Sick kids everywhere, surfaces covered in food scraps, and countless staff members with attitude. Seems like the "refs" out on the rink are constantly on a power trip. They refuse to let anyone stop for even a moment along any of the rails, either to rest or chat with a friend. The super extended break in the middle of the skate to have races was kind of bogus too... read more

I love love love this place. I particularly love Adult night. This place is just clean fun and it's an amazing workout. On any normal night it can get extremely busy which kind of takes away from the fun when you yourself do not have kids. Personally I wouldn't recommend the food it's really not that exciting but for something easy it will do the trick. I have been coming here for years as a child and recently started coming again in the past months. My only real recommendation is have one more adults only skate in the month. Like the last Monday of the month. read more

They sold me a pair for damaged roller skates then told me there's is nothing they could do. Like I'm a skate expert. My family loves going to skate country. We try to go once a week if possible it's great exercise and we have a lot of fun together.

Was here about a month ago with my kiddo. They have updated the murals to include current pop-stars, while holding onto some older stars too for the old farts among us. It's loud and crazy and not much different from the roller rink of my youth. Did a nice job of managing an injury that occurred (hey- it's skating- accidents happen). Will probably keep coming until my kids decide it's uncool. read more

Unsafe environment. As it is, the place is packed, more reason to follow COVID guidelines. Face masks are selectively enforced. All you gotta do is say that you have asthma, and you can skate the whole session long without your mask on. Affordable and fun as always! Adult night is Thursday. Very friendly staff and patrons, awesome music, a good time!

It's been 31 years since I entered this building, sheesh I belong in a museum, and this place has not changed a bit. I think it's the same carpet but not run down. Everything was the same. How did they do this? Color me perplex. I have decided this qualifies Skate Country as a Tucson institution. The prices at the snack bar are low. Sunday night is family night $12.00 admission for family of 6. There was a decent crowd. Enough to be interesting, but not overly crowded. The MC did a nice job. So get out there and skate a crazy trio. It was a nice transportation back in time, next stop 70's disco. read more
