Me and Mr Vice! & some kid.

I'm not a big sports fan. I can't sit round watching other people play and have fun. That's why the TRD is great for me. Lots of fun people and excitement. You feel like you're right there on the oval Jammin', Blockin' & Pivotin'. That's Pivoting not Pirouetting. I just learned those terms last night when I got the rule sheet handed out at the door by one of The VICE SQUAD members. One of the cool things is you get to hang with the athletes. They're selling t-shirts and checking ID's for beer. After every session they go around the oval and spectators hold their hands out to be touched by the Olympians. There's also Mascots to get pics with too. If you're a big sports fan you'll like this because the teams are just as disciplined and dedicated as our championship softball team. There was a large crowd but since it's such a large space it wasn't crowded. I saw some people I hadn't seen in a long time. In addition, if you're new to town this is a good way to meet fun people. There's lots of light unlike at some clubs. So, just in case you meet Mr/Ms Right, you don't have to worry about the next time you see him/her thinking; "great now I have to become a vampire cuz I can't take Mr/Ms Right out in the daytime." OK, enough with the sports and social Derby. Lets get to the food! Last night there were 2 of the best food trucks of Tucson. Just so you know, Tucson has about twenty #1 food trucks. So, the name doesn't matter. Just know you'll always have good food whenever you go to the Derby. In conclusion, I may need to take another look at football, maybe I'll like it. NOT!!! These women play on concrete! NOT grass or AstroTurf, cuz they're TOUGH!

A great Hockey team in a clean arena…read more The Arena is staffed by friendly staff, well stocked concessions, and condiments for your eating pleasure. The bathrooms are attended by polite staff who keep the area clean and orderly. Tucson PD are always there, giving a sense of safety in a public setting. The PA works just fine however the DJ's screech into the amplified sound system. It is nearly impossible to understand what being said to the point the ushers use ear plugs because of the noise from the PA. Some ushers have complained about the sound and nothing is done. What a shame, making paying customers have an uncomfortable visit.

NEAT HOCKEY TEAM w/ LOYAL SUPPORT for Arizona Hockey and the fallen AZ Coyotes. I enjoyed visiting…read morethe Tucson Roadrunners as they had a fun, family-friendly environment! The seats were comfy (albeit tight when it came to leg room and spacing) and the team staff seemed excited. Rowdy was a fun host with a pleasant vibe and Dusty (the Roadrunner mascot) was hilarious. I visited to support my Gulls as they took on Tucson so I wasn't the most popular dude in the arena but I was still enjoying myself. I got seats in Row D behind the visitors section and had a blast. I saw a diverse group of folks and families. I'm hoping Tucson does more to represent and celebrate this wonderful community! Right now, the themes and celebrations are a little weak/non-existent. Tickets are a bit pricey, it seemed like the higher seats inside Tucson arena would be a better bargain as they had more leg room! I managed to get a deal close to the ice, so I decided to sit in a tight space so I can be closer to my team. There's plenty of concessions and specialty items for hockey fans (tacos, burgers, donuts, acai bowls). Concessions were surprisingly not that bad, taste and price were satisfactory! The Tucson Roadrunners have a smaller fan base, but if they reach out to the diverse community around them and fix their stereo system , they'll be solid!
