Stopped by this YMCA with a friend who lifts once a week there on a weekday mid morning . There was a group of children outside under shade playing a fun game , a summer program maybe ? Greeted on entry everyone must sign in , join , belong , or call for details . There was free ? coffee in lobby ! Saw several exercise areas big weight room , a cardio machine separate room , a small exercise ball workout room , & a large dance , aerobics , yoga , mirrored room with comfortable real wood gym type flooring . Two younger women practicing a dance routine enthusiastically there . We " hit the weight room then practiced some stretching , , & friend did a comfortably sharing this big room . I'm told they have a pool but did not see it . Plenty of parking , some nearby under solar panels . ( nearby city of Tucson glass recycling bins #fyi ) Multiple ymca's and ywca around Tucson . As for the cons, the sauna is sometimes out of order. It's been off and on all summer. Also, I will say that some of the older people at this place don't understand gym etiquette and will swipe your equipment before you're done if you turn your back for a second. The trainers are somewhat distracting as well. Some are good and know what they're doing, but they're unreasonably loud when speaking with their clients. Others are quiet and polite but don't offer great training; one guy had his older, frail client ripping down half reps on the lat pull down machine like he was 14 years old and trying to impress his friends. Overall, a good experience with a few hang ups.

As a parent, the most important thing is trust, and we have real trust in the teachers and leaders. The care is high-quality, thoughtful, robust, and flexible, which matters so much for working families and families with different needs. I also deeply appreciate the J's broader commitment to inclusion, especially its programming for individuals with disabilities and families who benefit from extra support. That is one of the things that makes the J feel like more than a gym, preschool, camp, or community center. It is a place that works hard to create belonging. The facilities are excellent and very well maintained. The campus is especially fun in the summer, with the pool, splash pad, camp programming, sports fields, tennis courts, fitness center, classrooms, art spaces, and community gathering areas all working together. It feels like a true community campus where people of all ages can learn, play, connect, and feel welcome. No organization is perfect, but I have a lot of confidence in the people leading the J and in the direction of the community. Hard to find customer service anymore, and he went out of his way to help me, without any other motivation to sell me more. I have never had an issue doing business here, and they are knowledgeable and honest!

Lots of parking, lots of tennis/pickleball courts, pools, exercise, kids area and even a beauty salon! Very cool local country club vibes but still family run. My mom mentioned they're doing renovations here and there and it's looking great so far. The pool was lovely and it's salt water which is nice. We had a post pool lunch in the restaurant. Fast and friendly service and we both enjoyed our sandwiches. I saw that they do live music and bbq's on Friday nights which sounded fun. Overall very impressed with this lil slice of paradise.

Update March 2026:…read more Back on this side of town and I discovered they have done a complete renovation end to end and they converted the basket ball court dedicated to lift racks. It's the most professional change over i've ever seen. All new equipment and iron plates and floors. I'm going back tomorrow to see what i missed. They are re tiling the pool this month. i can t imagine the expense but i appreciate it.
