I don't want to come off as hateful but I hope someone else can benefit from hearing my experience…read more My car got rear ended in June. A few days after the accident, I went on a search for the best place to fix my car. My dealership highly recommended Maynord to fix my car so I didn't think twice. There also aren't too many other body shops I know of around Cookeville. I went in to get my car estimated and order parts. I was told then the parts were on back order but it shouldn't be more than a month. So a month passes and I give them a call asking where my part is, they tell me it's still on bach order but they have ordered it. I give it another month, and now they respond with "the person on your case is out for the day, I'll leave her a note and she will call you back." I give it a few days and still no call back. I call back a few weeks later and get told them same thing. So again, I wait. Now it is September and I finally call tell them that I would really appreciate an answer today. So someone does research and figures out the part hasn't even been ordered, but "it can be here in a week". Long story short, after 5 months my car is finally fixed. They are very friendly in person and on the phone but the organization and timeliness of this was very disappointing. I will not be going back in the future if I ever need my car repaired again.

Our church Dads get together at the Campground and Cabins once a year for a Father Daughter…read moreweekend. I enjoy staying at the cabins which are next to the campground. The marina and cabins are managed and owned by different group then the campground. The Thorntons have owned and managed the marina and cabins for several years now and they are as nice and thoughtful as they come. When we have stayed they have gone the extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Great people to work with. This year, I made a reservation and Tom helped me pick the right cabin for my daughter and I. They also gave us a military discount!!! Then after making the reservation, I discovered that we could only stay a day and had to cancel. There is a $25 cancellation fee by the credit card fee. Not only did Tom go ahead and cancel the reservation without a hassle, he offered to call the credit card company and see if he could get the fee waived. When the credit card company said no.....he went above and beyond to split the fee with us. He felt bad about the fee and paid $15 of it himself, and only charged us $10. Can you believe that? That kind of heart and desire to bless people is rare and a beautiful thing. I ask for anyone looking to enjoy a beautiful campground to seriously think about bringing your business to Tom and his family.
