You could get just that or use it as one (1!) of your sides for entrees. I had the catfish dinner and it was a lot of catfish. They were cut in strips and the cornmeal breading was just right. I also ordered the fried cabbage which was good, but after all the salad I didn't have much room for the entree. The food was very good and the porch sitting outside was nice. I'm glad to have found this place!

The "city" of Smithville isn't exactly a booming place to be... Mostly closed or old buildings - very small, and unless you're camping, I wouldn't stay in the immediate area. But once you get to the lake, it's amazing! The campgrounds are well kept and fairly large. The lake itself winds around, snake-like, with cove after cove to play in or soak up the sun in. You want privacy? You got it! You want wakes? You have that too! The fishing must be outstanding considering the many tournaments they have there. My husband and I live closer to two other lakes, but we drive just over an hour to come to this one. We can't say enough great things about it!

This marina is quite lovely, with the slips set up in a pattern to accommodate boats of various sizes. There is ample parking and a restaurant on site. I dug that there was signage and obvious lanes to navigate in and out of this marina. The person whose boat I was on spoke highly of this place and seemed pleased to store his boat here. That's all I got!

That's where I had my first Bushwacker! I thought the Marina was well laid out and felt very safe when getting on and off the boat. As far as boating on the Lake, the water was a little murky but I'm told it's because it's connected to the river. All in all it was a very fun day and if you have a boat and looking to dock it in Nashville, Blue Turtle Bay Marina is a great choice.

It used to be a clean and super friendly environment where the staff would always do their best to help you. Now you're lucky if you even get a hello. They don't keep the bathrooms cleaned and stocked. They don't pick up your trash and propane tanks anymore. They want us to take the trash to the dumpsters. Which doesn't sound like a big deal until you go to the dumpsters and they're completely full with the trash piling up on the ground. The employees will drive right by the trash on the ground and won't bother to pick it up. The staff did not properly clean the houseboat. When I took a white towel to wipe water off the floor, the towel was filthy! We ended up properly cleaning the houseboat by sweeping the floor, mopping and knocking down all the cobwebs. If you have arachnophobia do NOT rent a house boat! Does any of this give off "Resort" vibes??
