My favorites are bagged soups, turnovers, cinnamon rolls and pies. They also have a huge selection of party items such as plates, napkins and cutlery. You can call ahead and they will get it out of the warehouse and have it ready for you. This is also my go to place to buy Pasquales frozen pizza.

I'm glad to see they have added a bulk food section... however, they do not have the ability to tare glass containers so if you are trying to minimize waste and use reusables, you either have to bring bags that are lightweight or just have to use what they have there. I really wish they would figure out a way to accommodate this, as it's often hard to put spices/powdered goods into cloth bags. We do generally prefer Fareway for our beef and chicken... for whatever reason we've had some chewy chicken from HyVee. But HyVee has a much better selection when it comes to organic and "health" food than Fareway does. A random/funny note: One of our cashiers (college-aged) once had to ask us what a head of garlic was. She said she doesn't really eat vegetables so she doesn't know what they all are when they don't have stickers... ;) Oh, they always have the sweetest ladies cooking/giving out samples of food. It's always so good and they are very fun to chat with about cooking/food.

I found everything I came in for which shocked me. I originally thought I would have to order online. Huge selection of protein powder which included the Garden of Life brand which in my humble opinion is the best protein powder on the market. I was able to pickup Hawaiian spiralina and barley grass powder both hard to find locally. They also had some of the best prices on large bags of nutritional yeast. As for the produce, I thought it was a little pricey but good selection of organically grown items. In found a lot of great healthy snack options in the middle aisles such as kale chips, sea weed sheets and nuts. Their natural personal care products selection had a good variety to choose from as did the supplements section. This store reminded me of Sprouts Farmers Market only with a much smaller produce department. Customer service was awesome. They do have some boxes but best to bring your own bags.

I personally went to their "Health Foods" section which is designed differently than the rest of the store, which I appreciated, because I was looking for gluten free ingredients and knew exactly where to go. Not the biggest selection in the world compared to, let's say, a Whole Foods, but more than enough to pick up a few odds and ends.

I'm not used to shopping fareway because the other one in Cedar Falls isn't close to where I live or by anywhere I go. But I've become a frequent shopper since this location opened. Yes they may not have every flavor available of items that Hy-Vee might carry but the prices are generally more affordable and you don't have to walk a football field to shop. The staff is friendly and always offer assistance when they pass by. Lots of the day time staff is genuinely eager to help their customers. I like that this locations has 2 self check lines.
