So now gross gunk all over. Inside they have several check it's and are not afraid to open up more if it's busy. I've never had to wait long in line. Mostly I get gas, my car washed and buy milk and maybe some donuts. They always try to get me to start a milk card but you have to buy 10 gallons or 20 half gallons before you get $1 off a gallon. At least give me a free gallon if I've purchased that many. I'm too likely to lose my punch card before I buy that many. The cashiers are mostly friendly but some are dry, bored and just use the scripted lines they are trained to say. Would it kill someone to smile?

What can I say about this place?…read more I used to get pretty anxious about car issues until something went wrong and I went to Jim. Now, I feel like someone has my back and I know I don't have to worry. This guy is the real deal. Jim goes above and beyond the call of good customer service. We're talking about a business owner out there working hard, late, with his staff to ensure you are taken care of. Someone who takes the time to talk to you about all of your options, and will absolutely not pressure you into expensive sales or work you do not need. We've gone to him many times now and he always remembers us. This is a guy who really seems to love what he does, and is great with people. Nobody likes having to have their car worked on. It sucks. But if you're looking for someone to make it as painless as possible, and treat you right, Jim and his staff are who you want to visit!

There's a Kum & Go that's pretty creepy all the way up the street, but aside from that, you have to get off of San Marten to get any gas. As I'm someone who comes to the mall pretty often, I was glad to see this new gas station pop up. This gas station is also equipped with a car wash station. It's a very new building with a ton of gas pumps to match. However, despite just opening less than a month ago, three of the gas pumps were out of order. I had to actually wait in a line to get gas during the middle of a day on Thursday - which is something that has never happened to me. On the bright side, I guess it means that Waterloo really could have used this gas station. For those that don't want to worry about turning directly into, or out of, the gas station onto busy San Marten, Kwik-Star's parking lot directly connects to the Super Target parking lot, so you'll be able to get out in an indirect way that goes directly to a stoplight for an easier time getting back onto San Marten. Overall, it's definitely an awesome place for a gas station, and it's clear that it's new and clean. I was surprised to find that things were out of order already, and I was surprised to see quite so many people. Maybe people wouldn't have been waiting in line if all of the pumps were up - who knows? Either way, I'll be back.

They always have a vast selection of fresh doughnuts, bakery items, hot dogs, soup, and all of the beverages you could imagine. This gas station is right by my apartment so I find myself going here multiple times a day usually. Every time I go in I am greeted right away and the service is tremendous. The gas priced are some of the cheapest in the area too. They accept bottle and can redemptions for recycling, which is convenient. Overall, everything a good gas station experience should be!

Then hear videos being played in the stall. I asked the employee, "are you just sitting there watching videos?" He smugly replied, "yeah, I am" and turns up the volume. I go to a manager to complain, and I can't get him to even acknowledge my presence. I tried to tell him about the employee sitting in the bathroom just watching videos. He ignores me. No comment. Nothing. Straight out ignores me as if I was not there. When I go up the counter to make my purchases, he's behind the counter and won't make eye contact. On any other day, I would have nothing but praise for this store. I don't know the manager who ignored me, nor do I know the employee that was having his movie break. I don't know who, if anyone, was in charge. As a customer, I feel very disrespected by this treatment. I'm, however, so pleased that employees watching videos in the bathroom have a higher priority than customers. In any case, when a customer comes up to an employee, (let alone a manager) and has a complaint, be professional at least and have the common decency to not ignore the customer. I had come to expect more from Kwik Star.

When I went inside I was greeted by the clerk at the register. The place smelled of delicious coffee. They also have a Caribou coffee attached to the station that is accessible from outside or through the station. I went and used the restroom before I walked around the store. They were very clean and very nicely tiled. I also really like that they offered both paper towels and the blow dryer for drying your hands. For a gas station bathroom it definitely deserves five stars. I wasn't going to get anything but the aroma of coffee made me want to cappuccino. They had 18 flavors of cappuccino. I had a very hard time deciding which one to go with. They all look so delicious. They also have several slushy machines several flavors of fountain pop and coffee. They carried the normal gas station fare such as beer sodas and candy. They had fresh items probably brought over from the hy vee grocery store such as sandwiches wraps and salads. They also had stuff like pizza by the slice and roller dogs. The whole gas station was very spacious and clean. Other hy vee gas stations I've been to in the past are small and cramped. This one definitely competes with the quality of a kwik star gas station. I just may have to go out of my way more often to get gas and cappuccinos.

I had a slice of their cinnamon coffee cake (warmed up, of course), and it was SO GOOD! (Worth every penny!) Well, in looking at the storefront you can see from the pumps to the restrooms, things get progressively worse, as far as deterioration. There are some major repairs needed & an overall lack of cleanliness. The restroom is one toilet, one semi-attached sink, no toilet tissue holder of any kind, no paper towel dispenser or dryer. No surface gave off safe to touch vibes. I feel like I'd have been better off not washing my hands, luckily, with Covid, everyone seems to have their own sanitizer. There are holes in the walls. Sticky splatter covers the restroom floor. Someone added a note to the wall recommending they clean the room. While a good cleaning is certainly in order, they could also use $50 of patch & paint, plus some essentials - like dispensers for the tissue & paper towels... as tempting as the assortment of restroom napkins may be, it's not becoming in a business bathroom. That aside, on entry & exit, staff were friendly. Gas pricing was reasonable. No covid precautions observed.
