They do good work, they charge a lot, fairly quick. open ALL THE TIME. great in a pinch.

Get tire patched there, bought tires from them and they were quick about the service and if they were busy, I had just the wheel so they could call me when finished. I like the prepping they do to the rim so that the next morning, the tire is not flat the rim was rusty or gummed up and let all the air out. Never have had to return for a redo. read more

I had a low tire at about 7:00 on a Wednesday evening. I called Jim Lynn. Very nice, young man on the phone said. They could get it in. I drove immediately to the station, he said. He had one in front of me. That was no problem. I went and ate supper. When I came back, he showed me exactly what was wrong. Might be a problem down the road, but fixed. It was very nice. Couldn't have asked for better service. I would highly rate Jim Lynn. I always have. When Jim owned it, it was great. It's continued to be great. And young man named Nathan that took care of me last night was exceptional. read more

What can I say about this place? I used to get pretty anxious about car issues until something went wrong and I went to Jim. Now, I feel like someone has my back and I know I don't have to worry. This guy is the real deal. Jim goes above and beyond the call of good customer service. We're talking about a business owner out there working hard, late, with his staff to ensure you are taken care of. Someone who takes the time to talk to you about all of your options, and will absolutely not pressure you into expensive sales or work you do not need. We've gone to him many times now and he always remembers us. This is a guy who really seems to love what he does, and is great with people. Nobody likes having to have their car worked on. It sucks. But if you're looking for someone to make it as painless as possible, and treat you right, Jim and his staff are who you want to visit! read more

I live out of town but my mother in law lives in waterloo. I have used Jim Lind 2x now. Both around weekends since that's when we visit usually. The first was a Sunday when they got a tire fixed for us and got us home by Monday. The other was a Friday and our car wouldn't start. Every shop and dealership we called couldn't get us even looked at til Tuesday or Thursday the following week. Jim Lind got us towed that day, and diagnosed Saturday and fixed within the day. Took my car in to get fixed and paid about $300 and after one day it literally felt like nothing was fixed at all. Was told my brakes would be over $1000 to replace and also left with a random fuel leak? The sign outside for gas has said $2.29 for like 5 years it's never changed and right now gas prices are only like 2.14 a gallon but when I stopped there for gas their prices were over $3 a gallon??? I was all for supporting a local business but after my experience and leaving with even more issues with my car I honestly think it's a scam, they price gouge and are just greedy for money! read more

We are from out of town. Needed a tire fixed on a Sunday morning. Made several stops before finding Jim Lind Service. They were professional, had good customer service and got our tire fixed right away. Keep them in mind next time you have car issues. read more

Bait and switch shop... You will pay more than a dealership. Didn't even write up an estimate just quoted a price which was $1000 over the average repair price. I've heard he will get a part for a repair and then charge you up to 3x the retail price of the part. read more

Don't go to this station!! Ok, so a wounded veteran pulls up to their pumps marked with a handicap symbol and "full service" in big bold letters. He says all he needs is air in a tire. He tells the guy that he's handicapped and he can't do it himself. With this snide look on his face the guy tells him that it's a $20 minimum purchase for him to help. Are you kidding me?! $20 to help a handicapped person put air in their tire? Companies like this will do a few things a year to give this image that they care about their community and they'll claim its a "full service" station. But how they actually treat the individual person shows how much they truly care about their community. Jim Lind only cares to the point that they can make money off of you. I wont be going to their station ever again and I dont recommend any veterans go there either. Theres no human sympathy at this business, or even common decency for that matter. I received outstanding service from Jim Lind Service in Waterloo, IA. I was about halfway to my destination on Friday, March 29 when my driver's side front wheel started to act really weird. I had to pull off the road in fear that the wheel was actually going to fall off. The exit that I was able to make it to did not have anything around, no businesses, nothing. I called AAA and they sent a tow truck out. The tow driver said we'd be heading to Waterloo, IA and that AAA wanted him to take me to "So and So Service Station" but he was going to take me to Jim Lind because they're the best. I was a little hesitant because I had no clue about the area. We pulled up to the station at about 8:30PM and Jim Lind himself met us. He knew that I was a ways from home and also from where I was heading so he offered me a free loaner car until they could fix my vehicle. The service was outstanding from the very first minute that I stepped on property. He sent me on my way with the free loaner and fixed my vehicle on Easter. 4 days later I picked up my repaired vehicle. They even washed it! There is no doubt that the next time I drive through the area, I'm stopping there to fill up and get a car wash. Thank you very much Jim Lind and crew. You run a top notch organization. read more

Bait and switch place with outrageous prices for car repairs and unethical business practices. Jim will quote you a low hourly labor rate to start with but the final bill will have a completely different hourly labor rate that is about 250% higher that what was initially quoted. The "initial quoted hourly rate" will be lower than other shops to get you in the door but the final rate will be substantially higher than even factory dealerships. When asked, Jim Lind said his hourly labor rate "starts from" the low rate quoted but final hourly rate can be different "based upon the work" - never heard such a ridiculous statement insulting the intelligence of a customer - how can hourly labor rate be different based upon whims when initial hourly rate quoted to customer was far lower - if anything more extensive tasks can have more total hours consumed but the hourly rate should be consistent - that is what labor rate means. My job was not complicated and used exactly the number of hours initially estimated but to fleece the customer - Jim decided to use a rate several times higher than what he initially quoted to pad the invoice. I did not want to create a scene and paid and quickly left the business vowing never to go back again. AVOID if you don't want to be fleeced by a shady shop owner with highly questionable business practices! read more
