I worked in Galveston for 2 years and went to this store all the time, it was literally down the road from my work. Heck, I think it's the only one on the island! I've always been greeted as I entered, and as I've been checking out my items the cashiers have always been friendly. The store is obviously beach-heavy when it comes to their merchandise, and whenever I've been in the store it's been clean, the shelves have been maintained, and I've had a good experience. The manager seems to make it a point to have a clean store. I have NOT dealt with this pharmacy or photo counter l so I cannot review those services. Overall, this is a decent Walgreens to visit.

The souvenir aisles are overflowing with cheap, tacky beach trinkets clearly designed for tourists who wander in wearing everything from swimsuits to... significantly less. It's part of the atmosphere whether you want it or not. Employees are generally unfriendly and look like they'd rather be anywhere else, which feels about right for a Walmart in peak season. You're not coming here for hospitality; you're coming because you need something, and they probably have it. The parking lot, though -- that's where the real entertainment is. Lines, arrows, stop signs... none of it matters. It's a full‑scale, no‑rules demolition derby of minivans, rental cars, and golf carts, all piloted by people who seem to believe traffic laws are more of a suggestion than a system. Getting from your car to the store and back feels like you've been dropped into some chaotic obstacle course where survival depends on equal parts luck and reflexes.

A few weeks ago I had a 40-minute wait experience with Walgreens followed by a short "We don't…read morecover you. Call this number." conversation regarding my prescription pick-up. So I turned to the internet to find a new provider for my medication. Samuel provided great customer service to include calling my insurance provider himself to make sure that I was covered under my insurance. That was awesome. Then last week I went to pick up my prescription and the order, while correct in terms of being a generic version of my medication, wasn't exactly what I use and myself and the pharmacist did not want to alter anything since even slight changes in meds can be difficult on the body. So the pharmacist (I believe his name is Dr. Nguyen) went out of his way to find my exact medication, check to make sure it was covered, and then ordered it to be picked up two days later. Thank you for providing great customer and healthcare service!

The pharmacy tech did not tell me that when I asked her, and it wasn't posted on the plastic pop-up sitting on the counter of the pharmacy. Follow up to this review.
