The pharmacist is absolutely ruthlessly rude. I am a customer and they have my insurance information. As well as my medical information, address, phone number etc. I go in for my prescriptions not someone else's. I do not have a picture I.D. Because I have been mugged and it was taken along with my wallet. I present my health insurance card. State food stamp card ie.(SNAP) social security card etc. with tape glue still on my arms from the hospital. They refuse my prescriptions. I called 3 friends as apparently anyone with I.D. Can get my scripts. They refuse, a military I.D. Then a temporary state I.D. Then an expired state Drivers License. I'm most definitely never going to go to this or any other Walgreens ever again. I refuse to be treated as though I'm a vagrant or vagabond because I was robbed by a homeless person. This store is always surrounded by homeless people and obvious drug addicts. It's not safe. Poor lighting in the parking lot. People asking for money before you can get out of your car. As well as rude associates. I give them the lowest rating possible. This location should be closed for obvious negligent security and customer safety. read more

We have been traveling for about 3 months this winter. I had been trying to refill one of my husbands prescriptions where we were staying in Florida. That pharmacy kept on coming up with excuses for over a week. So, I knew we would be In Galveston, TX for at least 24 hours, so I called the pharmacy there at 308 Seawall Blvd. I talked to a gentleman by the name of Joe, who was trying to help me, but was going to need some time and promised to call me back. Just when I didn't think I would hear from him that day, he called me, apologized for taking so long but had been busy. (I totally understood ). He then said he could get my husband's prescription but from a different company. Sure enough, we arrived in town about 4:30 pm, 1st stop was Walgreens and they had his medicine! Very slow on filling prescriptions. Doctor sent prescription in Monday morning. Estimate was Tuesday at 2pm. Now, it's a 2:30pm estimate. Seriously. It's putting 30 tablets in a bottle. Find the store manager to be very disrespectful of senior citizens. Staff helpful I will say yet the manager projects a uncaring domination stance when questioned about store policies without me the customer being granted a voice....just cut off of any given conversation regarding the social impact of the ID policy. The worst pharmacy I have ever encountered in my entire life. Galveston does not have a 24 hour pharmacy which is one thing but to leave the emergency room around 2 am hoping for my meds to be filled as soon as they open it's now nearly 8pm the next day and my meds are still unfilled even though I have gotten multiple phone calls saying they were filled and ready for pick up. 30-45 minute wait time to pickup a prescription. I sadly have to block out times of the day to come try and get my medication. Some days, the wait can be around an hour to 1.5 hours. Avoid at all costs and go with Express Script. read more

This Walgreens is an easy and convenient stop when you are on the East Side of Galveston. Nothing too special about this Walgreens that sets it apart from others. Employees have been consistently helpful whenever I visit. If you do go, make sure you use your rewards card to build up points. read more

I have never been more offended in my life. I recently moved to Galveston from Houston. I went to this pharmacy to fill my ADD medication that I've been taking for almost 20 years now. My prescribing Doctor, who has been my doctor for the past 10 years, office is in Houston. When I went to go fill my prescription the pharmacist told me it will take us about a week for us to fill your prescription to verify that this is the medication that you actually take. And that I needed to start seeing a new doctor in Galveston because they don't understand why I have a doctor in Houston when I live in Galveston now and they don't know if I actually need this medication or if I'm selling it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Who do you think you are to tell me what doctor I should or should not see and how dare you accuse me of selling my medication. I've been using Walgreens pharmacy for the past 15 years, so there is a clear record of my medication, and just the audacity they had to try to tell me where I should seek medical treatment, and from who, and to accuse me of being a drug dealer is the most appalling offensive thing that has ever happened to me. Trust me, I wish I didn't need medication. I would love to be medication free, but that's not an option for me and how dare you make me feel ashamed and embarrassed for taking this medication and making me feel like I'm this drug addict trying to get her fix. I was visiting on a day date with my boyfriend and in such a hurry to get to our dinner reservation before sunset. Ran in to use the ladies room and left my wallet in the bathroom (cash in wallet). It wasn't until 2 hours later I realized it was missing . I called and was told I could not receive information over the phone regarding the lost wallet. It had to be God's will that the young cashier with the beautiful blonde wavy hair went to the bathroom right after me. Laura (Assistant Manager) had my wallet in the safe. I expected the $90 in cash to be gone, my great concern were my cards (which I paused). Both of these wonderful ladies Laura and ( I can't remember the sweet cashiers name), but they made my evening and surely went above and beyond !! read more

Waited in line from 7pm - 8:30 for prescriptions that were called in at 9:30am. When I got to the pharmacy drive through, I was told one was ready and they were still working on the second. They made me get out of line and drive back around knowing they closed at 9pm. They asked me to come back the next day!!!! My daughter needed both medications for her illness that night. This is one of the consistently slowest pharmacies I've ever been to. They are very busy due to proximity to UTMB and the employees appear to move as quickly as they can, they just seem to be chronically understaffed. For example I just timed them this time. Only two cars in front of me. From the time I pulled up until the time I was able to drive off, it took 23 minutes. So on average, it takes them longer than 7-8 minutes per customer, albeit they have walk up customers as well. And this was at around 7:30pm, it is so much worse at busy times like lunch and around 5! They need to get more employees! read more

Considering that this is only a few more block away from the office than Arlan's, I think I'll be heading here more often. I was pleasantly surprised to see a much cleaner and well stocked store than Arlan's. It looked like it was just a smidge cheaper, too. The real kicker is that the employees were all friendly! What are the chances of that? On the down side, the parking lot was not fantastic and many of the spots have a 30 minute limit on them. Which is just strange. For a this kind of store. I'd expect that from a dry cleaners, not some psuedo-grocery store. Their food selection isn't huge, but you can find the essentials here. It just felt so much less shady than the Arlan's a few blocks away and that is a pretty big selling point. read more

I I really do love this Walgreens! The people there are always so nice! Everything is very simple and handy! Sometimes on the rare occasion when I can't find some thing the nice employees their help me generously by helping me find what I need! They are always making very nice conversations long or short depending on how much time you have! They always try to make your experience the best they can without making it look fake! The best thing I can think of is obviously the employees! The store itself is also extremely amazing there's only one thing of all the items there that I've ever had trouble with! And that is a certain type of deodorant I like but not every store is perfect, at least not that I can tell, I do very much love the store and very very strongly do recommend you go visit it!!!! read more

This Walgreens has the worst pharmacy service! I went in to pick up an order at 135 pm that was placed at 1030 am but the pharmacist told she couldn't help me because they were closing for lunch. I asked, does everyone go at the same time she said yes. I returned to an angry group of people in line arguing with reps because their order was not ready and from the conversation it had been a couple of days that people have been waiting for orders to be filled. I walked up and asked for my order, and it was not ready. I had to return after 3 pm to pick up meds. I needed some Gatorade which they had a special if you bought two, four packs you got a better price. They were out of Gatorade and drink coolers were ALL boarded up. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I would give zero stars if possible! DO NOT go to this store! They are rude, lazy, unprofessional, and do not respect their customers medical privacy. They violate HIPAA laws (my own personal information was divulged to others and I have overheard the pharmacy staff speak of other people's confidential information in front of me and other customers). The staff all need at least one class on how to be professional and treat their customers politely. They make fun of their customers behind their backs. Prescriptions are not filled when promised and they have no problem telling you to come back another day, regardless of how sick you are and that they said your prescriptions would be ready at a certain time. And the Pharmacist could use an English lesson, especially if he has to deal with English speaking customers. I could go into greater detail, but I think this is enough for this site. Just trust me, take your business elsewhere where you (the customer) will be valued. Don't give THIS store your money! You will get much better treatment at ANY other store...trust me. read more
