This pharmacy closes between 1:30 and 2:00 for lunch. I'm not really sure why they can't rotate staff and stay open, but that's neither here nor there. I was in line to pick up a prescription at 1:10. For whatever reason, the person in front of me did not get taken care of in that 20 minute period. When the adjacent lane opened I pulled in with 2 minutes to spare, called for assistance and nobody answered. I can understand not taking care of somebody if they pulled up during lunch but I basically waited there for almost a half an hour and now need to come back. Very poor customer service. read more

The pharmacy is unacceptable. Twice in a row, they've sent me home without part of my prescription order (the antibiotics we've been prescribed to treat our young ones). This most recent time, I knew to ask "how many am I being sent home with?" 1. Out of 3. Asked them to check again, "oh yessir, they're here". They just simply miss them. Time & time again. I waited at the drive-thru window to pick up a prescription. After 25 minutes I was told there was no prescription there for me. After I got I home I looked at mychart to find the prescription had been ordered 4 days before. I got Walgreens on the phone to find that, even though I had previously gotten this same medication from them, they didn't fill the prescription because my insurance did not covered it. This is the worst pharmacy on Earth! And Walgreens is the worst pharmacy chain. I will never shop here again. read more

We went to this Walgreens to pick up supplies while in Galveston. The store itself is typical of every other Walgreens in America. Since it is located near the beach, it was stocked with beach items, as well as the traditional Walgreens items. The beach items included boogie boards, goggles, ear plugs, etc. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful with one exception. I needed to use the bathroom, but when I entered there was a Walgreens employee sitting on the floor working on the toilet. We perused the store for about 15 minutes and I tried again. Nope. He was still sitting on the floor, but this time the toilet looked repaired. I have no idea what he was doing, but since he was blocking the toilet, I figured it was off limits. read more

The pharmacy tech Lexi in the window is completely incompetent and should not be working in a pharmacy or in the customer service industry. She also told us that they never received the prescription when in fact they did. I would give this location 0 stars if I could. Sat in the waiting area for over 2 hours and when they finally called us to the window the informed us that they lost a prescription that I needed and are unable to find it. The pharmacist could not locate them even though he said he found them at first. The other pharmacy tech showed very unhygienic traits and was eating and doing her make up in an area that they fill prescriptions. 0/10 DO NOT EVER YOU THIS LOCATION FOR YOUR PHARMACY!!! read more

Pharmacy sucks. Told my daughters pediatrician if he could write a prescription for Tylenol since I was doing poorly on bill and couldn't buy the meds one after her shots. So I go there through the drive thru and I tell her my daughters name and she said well this is just a shelf medicine you should come inside and just pay fo it, I said no. Her pediatrician prescribed this for her so I wouldn't have to pay. It's cover by Medicare. She kept saying " I don't have time to go over there and grab it we have a long line I suggest you come in and paying for it."" "It's just a shelf medicine I don't Even in now why is prescribed." The pharmacy is awful. There have been problems with every single prescription and refill for an entire year. Takes days to fill anything. Can't get a person on the phone or an honest answer about what is taking so long. I never leave reviews but had to say something. Do yourself a favor go elsewhere. read more

Everytime I get prescription refilled it is such an ordeal. Saturday called in3 prescription. Blood pressure medicine. Tuesday and it was finally filled. After 4 phone calls today, ended up going over there after work. One was filled, they said the other one had to be delivered, but all of a sudden they had found 90 pills. But lost the original one that was filled. The people that work here are not responsible enough to handle our medication. read more

What happens more times that not are long wait lines at this location for the pharmacy. Upon reaching the counter (in-store) or window (drive-up), one can see they do not appear to be short staffed so if a script is "ready for pick up", I do not understand why so incredibly slow. The drive-up, on more than one occasion, I have sat upwards of 30 minutes. IF the customers pull up with many questions &/or attempt to pick up without knowledge of their script being ready, Walgreens should designate one of the two drive up lanes for this and one for actual "ready to pick up" orders so the rest of us can simply pull up, pay, receive our order & go. Or - maybe tell the complicated orders/customers to come in side, return later, or something/anything - there has to be a better way! read more

I frequent all Walgreens stores mainly because regardless of service I can normally find what I'm looking for there. This store however has always provided me with good, friendly service. I worked in Galveston for 2 years and went to this store all the time, it was literally down the road from my work. Heck, I think it's the only one on the island! I've always been greeted as I entered, and as I've been checking out my items the cashiers have always been friendly. The store is obviously beach-heavy when it comes to their merchandise, and whenever I've been in the store it's been clean, the shelves have been maintained, and I've had a good experience. The manager seems to make it a point to have a clean store. I have NOT dealt with this pharmacy or photo counter l so I cannot review those services. Overall, this is a decent Walgreens to visit. read more

Don't waste your time trying to get a Covid-19 Booster here. I made an appointment and filled out their 2 page questionnaire in advance and printed it out. I got there on time and a family that was a walked up got in front of me. I waited 25 minutes and they never acknowledged I was there. I was pressed for time and had to leave. read more

I have that super fancy app on my phone that allows me to send pics straight from my phone to Walgreens for them to get printed. It was so easy and literally all I had to do was go pick them up. Everyone is usually really nice as well. There are two Redbox's at this location and it's conveniently located on 61st Street when you get into Galveston. I had 3 kids, Including a teething 15 month old who had a fever, in the car with me and I went to CVS first to see if the staff in the drive thru would let me buy Motrin from them and they told me I had to come inside. So I went to Walgreens and tried the same thing. They were kind enough to do it for me. Saved so much hassle of bringing kids into there! This was our first stop upon arriving in Galveston to get some supplies: soda, snacks, etc. While this is a typical Walgreen's they do have beach items. We found everything we needed and had more than one employee ask us if we needed help as we wandered aimlessly seeing what we needed. We used the restroom while we were there and I was surprised how clean it was. There is another "drug store" nearby and this one has the best selection. read more

Don't try to call the pharmacy if you need something, because I was on hold for 45 minutes yesterday with supposedly 1 person before me and never spoke to a soul. When I called today, there were 3 people in front of me, so naturally I felt it might be more beneficial to drive over to the 61st location. When I got there, there were 4 people in front of me and 2 people sitting down. I felt discouraged and walked to the front to pay for a couple of other items. When I got to the front, I asked to speak to the manager. A nice young man called the manager to photo where she was supposed to meet me. Now if she was busy than someone should have told me that. But instead I waited for her and then decided to pay for what my sister needed and left. The nice young man told me at that point that she was busy in the pharmacy. I told him that I would never be back and if I were you, go to a different Walgreens and pray to God that you get some decent customer service in Galveston. read more

This is the WORST experience EVER- my insulin script was filled incorrectly from a call in order- I called my dr to get issue addressed and the pharmacy wouldn't answer phone when doctor was trying to address issue- I literally had to stand at consult line for over an hour with the doctor on phone to try and get this resolved- please go across the street to CVS or to the other Walgreens on the SeaWall - There is just no excuse- I plan on calling the corporate office- they can't possibly think this level of service is acceptable! read more

When you show up an hour and a half after it is suppose to be ready and the super rude lady gets your name, then proceeds to tell you they need more time and that you need to come back later, end of story, exact words. I like Walgreen's and have used them for years for my prescriptions. Moved to the west end of Galveston and transferred my prescriptions here but I am considering moving to another pharmacy due to the poor service I have received so far. They are very slow on filling prescriptions and just discovered they shortchanged me on one by about 8 pills. Should I have to count my pills before I leave the store? Do NOT get your pictures developed here! The majority of mine came out dark, blurry and just all-around terrible!!!!! I had multiple orders so it wasn't a matter of perhaps it being just an accident with that batch! But to continue, especially don't take film! The film cameras I took in were completely fine, never damaged in anyway, well the pictures were completely ruined after being developed and I was told well maybe they were taken in bad lighting and that's why they came out that way! Every single one of the pictures were taken during the day and every single one came out ridiculously dark to the point where they couldn't even hope to be used! Worst service ever! Long line in drive through and instead and horrible voice jail when I phoned in (on hold almost30 mins). They gave me the run around for about a week about a prescription (nausea med) that my doctor had phoned in first saying they had faxed the doctor and the insurance company wanted the Doctor to phone back to approve the med. I confirmed that they didn't fax him and then they finally told me that they didn't have the prescription after all. A waste of my time and my doctor's staff time. I next asked the doctor to phone it in to CVS across the street and within hours it was efficiently filled. They even gave me a discount when Medicare wouldn't offset the cost. read more
