They are SO on the ball with appointment reminders and scheduling, and I appreciate how seamlessly they handle my insurance and whatnot. The office is super clean and honestly kind of has a spa-vibe to it. I always feel weirdly relaxed when I'm in there haha. Plus the staff, hygienists and assistants are beyond friendly and make you feel like you're at home. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Christensen. I've heard horror stories of dentists recommending unnecessary treatments only to collect more money from patients. I can tell that Doc is honest and straightforward. After all of my checkups he explains how my teeth are looking and I usually leave feeling like I'm an expert brusher and flosser because of the way he praises the standard things I do. He's a pro at what he does--I had a chipped tooth after a visit to Mexico last year; I mentioned it to him and he fit me into his schedule incredibly fast. Then he fixed it better than new... I literally could not and still cannot believe it! I told him he's a wizard. The entire corner was gone but it's as if that never happened. So impressive! I've also needed a couple of root canals over the years and I'm equally impressed by his ability to make shots and the rest of the procedure painless. He is so good at what he does! Very knowledgeable, too! Point is, Dr. Christensen is honest and reliable. His top priority is that his patients receive *excellent* care and that they leave satisfied. I know that he would bend over backwards to make his patients happy because he's done that for me on several occasions! I am SO happy with my dental care and want to share the good news with anyone who might be looking for a solid dentist. Look no further... this is it!

They created a denture, and then we ended up having to have them fix an old deture (that they didn't even make by the way) because the new denture is unusable. They told us that it was because of the shape of my husband's mouth that he was having so many problems and they refused to take accountability for making a denture that we paid over $2000 for and cannot use. The whole point of seeking out an expert to do a specialized job is that you have to have a certain level of trust that your investment will at least be usable. Beyond disappointing!

Finally, though, with the end of the year approaching, and the possibility of losing my FSA funds looming, I sucked it up and started to research other options. Matching up (hopefully) decent dentists with those who accept your insurance is such a fun way to spend an afternoon...Ha! Focus was my first choice, they were accepting new patients, and while the wait was about a month out, they offered to put me on their cancellation list, and I ended up getting in within less than a week! They are located in a large brick office building off 7th East. The whole back is parking, and customer access is through the doors on the east or west sides of the building (the others are employee only). The interior is nicely decorated, reminding me a bit of the medical offices I patronized out East (side note, when I got my wisdom teeth out, I woke up in a library. A LIBRARY!). Focus is upstairs on the right, and their office space is lovely: All warm colors and welcoming. There are big 'ol cushy couches in the waiting room, plus a saltwater aquarium with two way viewing à la Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet. Every employee is so sweet and charming, and not in a fake way. They genuinely seem to enjoy working here and helping patients. Focus has a lot of small touches that I really appreciate: as soon as I sat down for my cleaning I was offered (quality, all natural) lip balm, the view from some of the rooms looks straight across the city to the mountains, TVs are placed 'just so' in the ceiling for easy, comfortable viewing. They even offer cosmetic services for wrinkles and aging! I saw Dr. Van Alfen, and he was so quick and as painless as is possible with my filling. He is pleasant and kind, and though I still don't look forward to dentist visits, I certainly don't dread them as formerly.

Dr. Van Alfen is knowledgeable, friendly and kind. I always enjoy my interactions with the care staff. I would rate 0 stars for the office experience. If a pleasant office and billing experience is important to you, then this is not the practice for you. This is hard for me write, because I have been a patient for many years, I am exploring changing to a new dental practice to visit based on several recent interactions. I no longer have confidence in their billing department, from several perspectives, such as accuracy and advocacy.

Dr. Goring, and team have literally saved my teeth and my life…read more I started coming here a year ago when I had suffered, severe mouth trauma at the hands of another practice and was in excruciating pain. Dr. Goring, without hesitation not only agreed to help me, he has continued to go above, and beyond for me to make sure that I was always taken care of and that he did the very best job possible. His kindness and professionalism have been so important in my healing journey and have really helped turn a traumatic situation for me into something positive. My case has not been an easy one and he continued to support me thru-out. His attention to detail and perfectionism has been so appreciated to me. He is thoughtful and respectful and makes me feel comfortable as I have now had anxiety about dental work from my previous experience. Bobbi and Marilyn both have always been incredibly good to me as well. They are punctual and kind and just honestly some of the best human beings I have come across. Normally when my teeth feel like this it involves a root canal and a crown and about $4,000. I was dreading that possibility. Dr Larsen knew what to do. Part of an old crown had broken away leaving my nerve exposed. He filled in the missing part with a white filling material. He was like a Master Painter as he worked to make it blend in. Tonight I'm back to chewing ice and drinking cold drinks. My Cost with insurance was a 10th of what I was expecting. What I know is Dr Larsen is a kind and experienced Dentist. He has seen it all. He was just what I needed so now I have a new Dentist I can trust again. You have no idea what a relief this is to me.
