My 17 year old and my 15 year old went to get their teeth cleaned and ended up getting a panoramic X-Ray for no clinical reason that was informed to us. When I asked their answer was that it is just routine practice, and if I go against their routine practice( not let them do what they want) I should go some place else; however, this unnecessary radiation exposure to my children and Bluffdale Dental routine practice should had been explained to us before it was done to my children and not after the fact. I also asked how often children gets panoramic x-ray the doctor said about every 5 years ( assistant said every 3 to 5 years) then I asked if they had requested dental records to see last time it was done since my children are new to them( their first visit) they said NO! this is so unacceptable! what if the other dentist got this done recently; Bluffdale dental did not care enough to know this information to protect my children against unnecessary radiation exposure which can be harmful to their health. Not a sincere apology or any effort to understand the client's point of view. I am devastated. As far as the visit went my children were very impressed with how well the staff treated them. read more

When I switched dental practices I asked the front desk person to schedule me with an older (more seasoned if you will) dentist . Someone who's had lots of experience basically. When I showed up to my appointment I was met by Dr. Proctor who was apparently a few years out of dental school. I had to laugh and I explained to him I asked for the seasoned dentist upfront due to my fear of all things dentistry and wished us both luck. He was AWESOME! His personality is hilarious. He would joke when I needed a joke. Made me feel comfortable from minute one. We are many appointments, fillings and crowns in and he is still my all time favorite dentist and I've had many in my nearly sixty years. My permanent crown today went on so perfectly I was in and out in no time . Thank you Taylor for assisting ,you were great too. I'm so happy I just had to leave a review! I think the best thing I could tell you though, is that when I first met with Dr. Babcock, he looked over my old fillings and when another doctor had told me they all needed to be replaced immediately he recognized the life they still had. He stretched the life of the fillings out multiple years before replacing 2-3 of the sum 10 fillings the other dentist had insisted be replaced immediately. We've been going to Bluffdale Dental do 10 years and we love Dr. Babcock and his staff. His new office is lovely and spacious. I recently went to his office to have old silver fillings replaced with composite. It was a seamless experience. I've not had fillings done since I was a child and back then it was such a traumatizing thing. But not with Dr. Babcock. He worked quickly, made sure I was in no pain and explained the different outcomes that may happen when we started the procedure. I always feel like Dr. Babcock is honest in his dealings with my husband and I, not trying to just put more money in his pocket. I feel he truly cares. Can't recommend enough! read more

First, please don't make snide remarks about the curve in my back, Dr Jolly. When I tell you I can't lay flat, and you tell me, "It must make it hard to drive a truck." Thanks, A-hole. My medical conditions are not your playground of amusement and conversation. Second, when I tell you I have new insurance, please ask for it when I call 5 days early. Next, tell me what it's going to cost before you put me in the seat. I told you I didn't want to have anything done until we knew what the insurance covered. Also, don't make me sign for procedures that I don't want done. You didn't schedule a cleaning, I'm not signing a document showing what I owe when I don't want the treatment. Won't be going there again. Then, on the way out, they tried to charge me for doing nothing. They literally did next to nothing other than visually look at my tooth. Less than 10 min was spent. Great Place to go! Dr. Dave was suggested to me by his brother Doug. I had just moved to Utah and had suffered through a year long very bad experience with another local dentist. Dr. Dave not only fixed the damage but he replaced a substandard bridge at no cost. He said that I deserved a warrantee even if he didn't perform the original work. I had never heard of this and I'm pretty sure this isn't normal. That's the kind of dentist he is. He later performed a lot more work on my teeth, including 4 implants and multiple crowns. I can't imagine a more competent & caring professional who is also concerned about cost, than Dr. Babcock and his whole organization. They are just the best. read more

0 stars would be more accurate. I should have listened to my intuition after the first time I set foot in this office for a cleaning. The facade of professionalism and niceties at this office should not be overlooked! I made an emergency appointment with Dr. Jolly for what I know to be pain associated with needing a root canal. He looked at my X-rays and told me I had pulpitis but there was nothing he could see that needed any treatment and blamed it on my Invisalign and told me to go see my ortho. Went to see my ortho the same day, who was confused why my dentist would send me to him with nerve pain in my mouth. Called back Dr Jolly and asked if he could do a different type of x ray to see if there was anything he had missed. He told me there was no other type of x ray that would tell him anything different and I should try and wait it out a few weeks for it to go away. I was unable to eat, drink or sleep already by this point. I did some research on pulpitis (which is very serious and honestly scared me he cared so little) and decided to get a second opinion from a friend's dentist. I was finally heard by a dentist who within seconds determined I had 2 abscesses above my canine and incisor and did an immediate drainage of abscess and root canal. This dentist was shocked I was told to go home and wait it out and told me if I had waited much longer I would have likely needed extractions (I'm a young healthy female). I wish I was listened to and not mansplained to by dr jolly. We are all human which means none of us know everything. If I tell you something is wrong and doesn't seem right please don't take it as an insult but as a way to help me figure out what's going on. Your knowledge is absolutely more vast than mine on dentistry (obviously) but my intuition is nothing to EVER be discounted. read more

For several reasons it has taken me entirely too long to get back to having regular dental care. That being said, I was very nervous and just knew my visit would be full of bad news. Not one person made me feel bad about it being so long between cleanings. The front desk staff were all very friendly. The dental assistant was super sweet. The hygienist was a delight even when I told him I was super scared. He put me at ease like it was second nature to him. The doctor took the time to actually talk to me and made sure I was comfortable and informed of all that was going on. I was even comfortable asking about getting options for straightening my teeth as an adult. Every aspect of my visit was gentle. This is the first time I'm not dreading my next visit. All aspects of my visit were excellent. Setting up appointments was an ease. Upon arriving other than filing our initial patient paperwork I didn't spend any time in the waiting room, I was quickly taken back and never spent time waiting. All hygienists, technicians and the dentist were very friendly. They even played with my 2 year old daughter while I was having x-rays taken. The facility is up to date and is located in a convientient part of town for my family. Equipment used was high quality (the chairs even had massage mechanisms). This review makes me so sad to write because I have had nothing but great experiences for me for the last 4 years and my husband for the last year but I am very upset about the experience I recently had. I received a root canal from Dr Stringham who was very friendly and answered my many questions throughout... however the girl assisting him was extremely pushy and as my procedure took longer kept pushing the Dr to "finish up" with me and move on. She continually reminded him of all the OTHER patients waiting while his hand was in my mouth. I understand appointments and making people wait but I was there and numb and being worked on and she told him probably 17 times that other patients were waiting. I was extremely upset. I've had my temporary crown for 2 days.. have not eaten anything crunchy or chewy and it just fell off... I'm certain it was her negligence and attempting to rush me out that led it to not stay on correctly as I've had 2 root canals before and never had this problem. Thankfully Dr Babcock has been assisting me this weekend in setting up a fix for it or this would be a 1 star review. read more

Before I became a regular patient with Dr. Babcock, I was seeing another local dentist for about 6 years. Since I started going here, the very professional and extremely nice staff have saved my teeth from my previous provider's rather shoddy work. I was never a big fan of the dentist as most people aren't. I've changed that tune since I really started to take care of my teeth. Now, I view the dentist as important as my physician or any other health provider. The office is always so friendly and the amenities are world class. Massaging exam chairs, TV above with netflix accompanied by modern methods and equipment. I am always satisfied when I visit. The location right next to my parents house is very nice as well. I can't recommend Dr. Babcock enough. If you value your teeth and oral health, then please pay him a visit. read more

I had thought I had a great relationship with Dr Babcock and his staff. I started out without a plan. My mouth has a lot of post radiation cancer issues. Weak teeth, broken teeth, teeth needing filling, root canals some crowns. Lots of work to be done. I don't know medical or dental terms but it seemed to need a lot of work I felt he thought I had an endless supply of money. I would have to pay each visit. A crown would come in yet break as he was putting it on. He felt bad yet charged me again. He pulled an old crown that couldn't be fixed. He made a flipper for me to wear in public. Just a fake tooth. It broke as he put it in. Felt bad but I paid again. Several different yet similar issues. I now have a mouth full of pulled teeth and failing crowns. I gave Dr Babcock just about all of my life savings. Just around $11,000. Living on SS that is just about a years income. Maybe that's not a lot in dental terms but I got nothing for my money. I was very hurt reading the ladies review of all the wonderful free work she received. All of Dr Babcock's work has failed. It's been about 3 years I did expect a little better work, or life from the work. To add insult to injury his office won't return my calls. It's been months I've called for appointments. My son made calls for me because of my fake post cancer voice. No harsh words no arguments they just won't call me or take my calls. I had not written this review until we were sure they weren't calling. A letter saying sorry I don't have the skill you need would have been nice. Proceed with caution. read more

I usually HATE going to the dentist, but had such a wonderful experience at Bluffdale Dental that it has changed my perception of dentist visits. Just to name a few great things about Bluffdale Dental: 1. The office staff is SO FRIENDLY. They have a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and everyone is so kind and pleasant to work with. 2. They do an AMAZING job at describing what they are doing, why they do it, and how everything works. I learned more at my dentist appointment with them than I have in the last 29 years of life! I felt very educated and knowledgable about what was happening in my mouth and what I needed to do to maintain my oral health. 3. They have a massage dental chair and TVs on the ceiling! Enough said! 4. The facility was very clean, sanitary, and nice. 5. They were very efficient at getting my teeth cleaned and having the dentist look at my mouth in a timely manner. 6. Their 'teeth whitening club' is a great deal! 7. They do a great job at listening. I explained my past oral history and felt that they remembered and took note of everything I said. I felt heard and listened to- which is SO important to me. 8. At the end of the visit they gave me a goody bag- which was next-level sweet. Best part? It had a sheet with notes of our visit and what I can do at home. I didnt have to try to remember what we talked about after I left. It was already done for me! 9. They were GREAT with my kids. I have three kids, and they cleaned them all at the same time, which was above and beyond, making my time at the dentist much faster. The staff at Bluffdale dental are all welcoming and give you all the information that you ask and need. Scheduling has never been an issue for me and they really work with you financially, so dental work doesn't have to hurt the bank. Absolutely the best dental experience ever! everyone in the office is friendly and compassionate. I had severe tooth and pain problems and no way to pay for it all up front like most dentist require. But he sensed my stress and pain and helped me out anyway. Young Family Dental quoted me $9,000 and wanted it all upfront even though I sat in their office and cried in pain. Bluffdale Dental quoted me $900 and were willing to help me out with whatever I could do. He was understanding and caring and took my financial situation in consideration, and didn't come up with a bunch of uneeded work. He did the very best he could to make sure I was not in pain during the work. I was almost suicidal over this and he totally saved me. I will never forget what their office did for me, and neither will my kids.
