Dr. LaFeber had is licensed revoked a few years ago. I found this after the painful treatment I had here. Avoid at all costs. Been dealing with "Dr." LaFeber's negligence for the better part of 15 years now. Originally went in for a cleaning only to leave with a root canal that I did not consent to. The root canal was done incorrectly and 3 years later the veneer came loose due to an infection causing major pain, oral surgery and years of anxiety. Here I am nearly 15 years later and having issues with the same tooth. I've seen other reviews that mention that his license was revoked, it's shame it wasn't permanent! Each time I put in my dentures I am reminded of the poor dental care I received from Dr. LaFeber. Unfortunately I was referred to him by trusted relative.Dr LaFeber put me his low cost family plan. In my naïveté I continued to see him for 13 years though problems kept occurring with my teeth that he had worked on. For example, crowns broke, implants failed to work. cavities often failed, to name a few. When I had occasion to. See another dentist when he was out of town, he shook his head and said my teeth was a mess, on work that DrLaFeber had done.Two other dentists have similar information.Six months earlier I had X-rays of all my teeth from Dr. LaFeber and was not given this serious report, and so I was very disturbed when I was later given this serious report. Therefore I went to a recommended Prosthodontist who said I should see a surgeon to remove my teeth. He wanted to know who had been my dentist. When I asked him what he thought of his work, "he said I'm not a fan. I asked if he had ever reported a dentist, he said "no, but there is always a first time." And finally Dr. LaFeber's bookkeeping was also incorrect, causing me to lose my dental insurance. I hate dentures which could have been avoided had I had competent dental care over the years. I'm going to start by saying thank you to everyone at Sandy Center Dental. I have never been treated as well as they did at any other dentist's office. When you walk into the office you are greeted by one or two sweet ladies every time. I have shown up maybe 20 minutes early every time and they get me in before my appointment was supposed to happen. The nurses there are fantastic. I had to go in about a month ago for some work and my nurse and I had a great conversation then when I went back a few weeks later the same nurse remembered me and our conversation from my previous visit. The doctor who works there is fabulous. He makes sure you are comfortable and well taken care of before he even begins. Everyone I see leaving there always seems very pleased with their time spent. Going forward I will definitely be going back and I have already referred them to multiple of my family. If you are looking for someone to take good care of you and make your money worth it I would definitely recommend you to try this place before going anywhere else. By- Caitlin Knight read more

Dr. Lefeber is the best! He's always on time, friendly, and extremely competent. He's my dentist, my kids' dentist too- no complaints- and we haven't had any billing problems. My name is Olga Chizov, 37 years old, a mother of two infants. I heard about Sandy Center, Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, through my husband who works by Edwards Lifesciences. They have a mobile dentist office, Jet Dental, coming to the company to perform teeth cleaning from time to time. In one of the visits he received a visit card, so when I complained about a tooth ache, he suggested me scheduling an appointment with the office. I met Dr. Nicholas B. LaFeber DMD on 29 October 2019. I came to him with a dull pain in my last tooth from the right on the lower jaw. A local X-Ray image was taken and Dr. LaFeber reassured me that he can see a cavity. The treatment consisted of replacing an old seal with the new one. He performed an anesthetic injection and from this moment I felt myself very uncomfortable with the treatment. I had a feeling that the dose was too strong, since my jaw grew numb very quickly. I had a thought that maybe Dr LaFeber was on hurry, since he started drilling the tooth waiting no more than about two minutes after the injection. I still could feel mild pain from drilling but since it was not too strong, I decided to continue with the treatment. The injection itself was performed in a rough way (comparing to injections I received visiting other dentists in my past). I could feel the pain from the injection on my cheek within two days afterwards. The seal was replaced and I was reassured that the pain in the tooth should disappear within next two days. The dull pain disappeared within a week after the treatment, but I was disappointed to discover that the tooth became sensitive to cold and heat and I felt pain when biting with this tooth. This was another type of pain, not the constant dull pain coming from inside of the tooth I came with to Dr LaFeber, but a sharp pain coming from outside of the tooth only when biting something hard or cols and hot. I came back with this problem to Dr. LaFeber in about five days after the treatment. He explained that there are probably microcracks on the tooth surface and suggested covering the surface with some kind of material (I don't know exactly the type of material he used). I was forbidden to eat for an hour after the procedure and was reassured that the pain should disappear in a couple of days. Unfortunately, the pain remained the same and I visited Dr. LaFeber for the third time on 14 November 2019. He insisted on taking another X-Ray image; suggested that there could be a crack in the tooth and wanted to refer me to a specialist who can observe my tooth under a microscope. Lastly, he suggested that a root canal treatment might be performed. For me it is a lot of procedures not covered by my insurance. I refused to all the suggested procedures and asked to repeat the procedure he performed on my second visit, hoping that this will resolve the problem. Dr La Feber repeated this procedure, but it didn't help for the pain. Additionally, I asked for an X-Ray image, that was performed on my first visit, to be sent to my email address. To my surprise, the X-Ray image showed the treated tooth only partially and it seemed like the image was performed for a wrong tooth, not the treater but the one nearby. For me replacing a sealing by Dr. LaFeber turned to a nightmare. I don't trust Dr. LaFeber professional opinion anymore. I live now with a tooth pain and two questions in my mind: 1. Why the treated tooth is being seen only partially on the X-Ray image? 2. Why all these problems with the tooth (in case they existed when I turned to Dr. LaFeber for the first time) where not detected right away when a seal was replaced or, maybe, the suggested crack formed during the treatment? read more

The services rendered were fine but in terms of follow up, this office is absolutely terrible. I'm constantly overcharged & have to contact their office to request refunds. I've visited this office several times & each time, I was overcharged. In addition to this, it takes several weeks for them to send a refund back to me. Quick to take my money, but slow to return it. Not an honest business practice in my opinion. I've had to call multiple times to request my money & left voicemails & they still haven't called me back. Won't be returning to this dental office and would not advise anyone else to either. read more

wow let me tell you my horrible experience with this office. I was born with a medical condition called oligodontia which is a rare condition of somebody who was genetically born missing 5+ adult teeth. in my case, I was born missing 10 adult teeth (14 if you include my wisdom teeth). In 2014 when I was 16 I met Dr Lafeber and he optimistically told me he could help me in my special case. Like any young 16 year old who seeks dental help, I naively trusted my teeth to this office. At the time I was still holding onto 5 of my baby teeth but had been missing 5 baby teeth due to them falling out naturally 4 on the bottom pallet (2 molars and 2 front bottom incisors) and 1 on the top (front right lateral incisor). He took Xrays and said i had enough bone no problem to go ahead with implants and being a young 16 year old who had already seen several dentists and oral surgeons over the years thought I could trust him. He placed all 5 implants while I was awake all at the same time. After healing time had passed, one of my front bottom implants completely failed and he had to pull it out and let it heal before replacing it with a much smaller post that didn't even match the one adjacent to it. At the same time, I saw my top front lateral incisor implant that he placed and it was COMPLETELY BOTCHED. He had placed it at a crooked angle which caused the very thin bone that I did have to completely break. You could see the post was sitting inbetween my gums with 0 bone surrounding it. Since there was no bone surrounding it, you could see the metal post through my pink gums which turned grey due to the metal showing. Not to mention, this crown did not match my teeth at all, it was several centimetres longer than my natural teeth which made it look extremely fake and has completely embarrassed me these last 6 years I have had it. Besides the obvious embarrassment, the way the crown was placed made it impossible for me to clean it properly because food was getting trapped between the crown and my gums inside. He told me to brush down on the gums to stimulate gum growth over a porcelain crown, which doesn't take a dental expert to know this is completely untrue and impossible to happen as gums will not grow over porcelain. This year in 2020 I am now 22 years old and I began noticing white puss oozing from the gums of this horrible botched implant. I am now seeing dental specialists at the University of Southern California who are fixing his mistake along with fixing the rest of my missing teeth due to my medical condition. Yesterday I had to undergo extremely invasive dental surgery where they extracted the horrible botched implant and my remaining baby teeth and replaced with bone grafting along my entire front pallet where Dr Lafeber lied and said it was thick enough. Also not to mention, 16 year olds should NEVER EVER undergo dental implant surgery as their mouths are not yet fully developed which he lied to me about and performed the surgery anyways. Long story short, at 22 I am finally seeing the light at the end of this extremely long and horrible dental journey. In January I will have my implants placed by these amazing dental specialists I have found and by April I should have my final 5 crowns placed and will be able to FINALLY have a healthy smile to be proud of, it will be healthy with no infections or broken bones, and I will have this sense of relief being able to have a functioning mouth without having to be aware of my infected implant and my baby teeth falling out. If you care at all about your teeth, do not give your money to this dentist. Even if you do a quick google search on him you can see he has had many complaints and probations about his work throughout the years by other patients listed on dental evaluation websites.
