I have come here for years and have always had great experiences! I especially love that they are open later so that I can go after work. My front tooth has a filling and has chipped a handful of times over the last twenty or so years. This last one was the worst because I was in Atlanta on a work trip. I had to find a random emergency dentist to put something on it until I got back to Utah. Omg! I am beyond happy w my results!! I was planning on having to get ventures until my visit here and they filled my front tooth! Honestly, I haven't been this happy w my teeth in years! i went in for a cleaning and talked about wanting to fix some of my teeth and may look into getting braces to help. they had a lady come in to talk about veneers with me and gave me a quote which was like $1,000 per tooth... i told her i wanted to just get braces instead and she told me if i got braces it would mess up my bite and my teeth and told me there's no way i was able to get braces... i went to an orthodontist (johnson elite ortho) and they got me braces the day of my appointment and told me that all their information they gave me is false and braces will help. it's ridiculous giving false information and worrying patients just to get some money out of them. i will not be returning here. read more

DON'T GO HERE!!! If I could give Abundant Othodontics 0 star I would because this business lacks transparency and integrity. They charged me for my retainer replacement at the get go and states once the claim is processed by insurance they will refund what was paid by my insuranace. It's a lie! They will rip you and your insurance off. I paid them and then my insurance paid them on top of that, and I never got my refund even though my insurance paid 75% of the total cost. I made an appointment yesterday for today and was impressed with my interaction on the phone. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted at the front desk and given paperwork to fill out. Adriana took me for X-rays and Judy did my cleaning. I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of them both. They both took the time to walk me through each step and ensured I was comfortable. Dr Armstrong was very personable and informative. We talked about options and explained the pros and cons of each. The office staff walked me through scheduling and billing prior to me leaving. I went to another clinic who had the EXACT same plan and it was $2,500. It was a total sales pitch (coming from a healthcare sales rep) and felt slimy. I called and set up an appointment for the following morning which happened to be New Years Day. That impressed me, until I arrived and they said I had to pay because they couldn't contact my insurance company due to the Holiday. Well I didn't have any money at the time to pay. My insurance wasn't good enough to get me in on an emergency visit. I guess I'll have to go to the ER if it gets too bad for me to handle. I've had to tell them multiple times now about my daughter's insurance changes before they actually took note of it. Even still, they made us wait while they verified that the insurance was good, even though it happened the previous time we were in as well. For my other daughter, I had to cancel her appointment twice before they actually canceled it (she was scheduled to be out of state). They owed my mother money and told her to allow 10days for mailing and on the 10th day argued with her to wait "a few more days". My mom insisted they issue a new payment and they finally agreed, good thing as that original check still hasn't arrived almost 6 weeks since they mailed it. The work you receive is great but the office staff doesn't have a clue and is way behind on approval and claims, the refund my mom requested was for work done in October 2022 and she just barely got her money back for her over payment of out of pocket share. Plus, each time we go in, they have a new person (or people) there at the front desk. read more

For my initial consult I was a little frustrated, I waited 15 minutes in the waiting room without anyone being at the front desk to help me. I went next door and asked the dentist side if they'd get someone to help me. To be told "they are having a team meeting", at this point it was 5 minutes past my appointment time. But overall my consult went well and I decided on getting lower braces. As an adult my insurance won't cover anything. But I saw their online special and Apex said they'd match 50% of it because I was only doing bottom braces and not the full set, which was kind of them. I probably wouldn't of gotten the braces if they didn't honor anything from their online ad. Michelle ended up putting on my braces. I'm so glad I had her helping me rather than the other tech-if I'm being honest. Michelle was polite, professional and got to the point. The other tech was very loud, over the top and making weird comments to her patient. This review probably just sounds like a lot of complaints for a 4 star review, but in the end I have enjoyed my experience with Apex and it's nice they offer in house financing with 50% down. I had a great experience with Dr. Chen and his dental assistant at the Abundant Dental Care of Sandy. The Doctor has excellent bedside manner. I was so nervous; I have anxiety and I knew I had an infection and had never had a root canal before. I assumed I would be in pain. This was not at all how it went. My experience was completely relaxing and painless. I thought the procedure would take many hours but they did it in a timely manner. They were so kind and made me feel cozy and at home. I really appreciate the work they did. I can tell that I am going to heal quickly and will sleep so much better now that I am no longer infected and I have a beautiful new crown in place. (I have a temporary one) The Doctor and his kind assistant (I wish I remembered her name, she is pretty and has brown hair) made me feel at ease during and afterwards. I thought I would be a lot of pain after but I am feeling better than when I went in for it this procedure. I look forward to getting my permanent crown with someone I trust. Initial visit. I entered the office and not a soul was in sight. They were doing a potluck but it seemed strange that NO ONE was even watching the front desk. I waited for 5 minutes until someone helped me. I sat there listening to all of the employees at the front desk chatter way too much. I now know what is going on in their love lives. I'm all for fun at work but this was sooooo loud and made it so hard to focus and ended up being uncomfortable. The assistant was very nice and helpful but I felt like the utensils about to be used were used. Specifically the X-ray plate that you bite down on. There wasn't plastic covering the bite portion...just gross. Overall I have never felt less important and uncomfortable at the dentist. I will never go back. Ever. read more

I went in with a ache in my jaw. They said I needed a root canal. I was prepared for the possibility of a root canal. They opened the tooth to help with the pain. They put medicine in it and put a temporary filling in. After I got home & started coming out of the numbing my tooth was very rough. Irritated the crap out of my tongue. Went in the next day to get it smoothed out, they said they could finish the root canal. I've had root canals before but at Apex it was the worst experience ever! The doctor numbed it but it still felt like he was drilling on a bare nerve. Instead of trying to make me more comfortable he kept saying it will be better any minute. The front desk was not very friendly, assistant was pissy. I should be treated with respect especially when I'm spending so much money. read more

I can't believe how nervous I am right now. I've read reviews for multiple offices by Apex Dental and I'm totally freaked out by the reviews. I scheduled an appointment with them and they were relatively nice. I called them today to verify the location I was going to and my call went to voicemail. I called a few minutes later and a lady answered. I started talking to her and she had transferred me to someone else and I couldn't understand what had just happened or why I was transferred. At any rate, I expressed my concerns with the reviews and she just couldn't give me the confidence I was looking for. The staff I talked to were all nice though. I just don't have the confidence from their poor ratings and my minimal phone interactions. As long as they use the name associated with so many negative reviews, I won't be able to confide in them with the 1 set of permanent teeth I've been given in my lifetime. :( For the record, I called a 5 star dentist with 18 reviews and not only were they fabulous over the phone, but she was confident my insurance would be no issue and asked questions Apex failed to ask. If I could give this office negative stars, I would. My family have only been patients here for 6-7 months. First appointments in June 2017 for the exams, everything went ok during the appointment and then they give you the treatment plans. For 2 of my 4 kids there was some fillings, crowns and even root canals needed. They give you the treatment plan telling you it is an estimate only. I took it home to review and had some questions after checking with my current dental plan. I then attempted to call several times to have some one explain to me why the amounts they estimated were higher than what my insurance was telling me they should be. After a week and a half of not getting a call back from voice mails and messages given to the front desk, I had to get mean with the receptionist for someone to actually return my call! After the pricing issues were cleared up, I decided to book the appointments to do the treatment plans for my kids. Everything seemed to go ok for this. I then went in December 2017 for the 6 month exam my 3 year old actually got more than just the happy visit and we discovered he had a cavity :{. I scheduled an appointment for him and my other son a half an hour apart. When I arrive for the appointments I find out that they had mis-scheduled us after waiting for an hour and a half. I had prepaid for the services and had not planned to be there all night. My kids didn't have dinner so I decided to cancel the appointment and get a refund for the services I paid for. I stood there for about 15 minutes of them whispering back and forth to each other before I finally said "just have your office manager call me tomorrow, I need to feed my kids" and left. I waited a full week with no calls before I called back. I had decided that since I continue to have issues, I was going to cancel all future appointments as well. I called to get 3 things, cancel all appointments, get the refund from the services I didn't receive and a receipt for the payment I made. They transferred me 3 times and I was only able to cancel 1 appointment. I requested again that the office manager call me about the refund. I then waited another week with no phone calls. Since this, my son was able to get into Burg Children's dentistry and have the filling taken care of while I am still fighting to get a refund and receipt for payment from these people! I have been to Apex now twice. Both times I enjoyed the experience. Clean off. Nice staff. My teeth are in great shape so I simply had a standard cleaning. It wasn't until I finally got my husband to finally get his teeth cleaned (after about 4 years since his last) and my husband came home completely frustrated. After making him wait 45 minutes for his appointment, he was told his teeth were in bad shape and they wouldn't even be able to clean them. They sent him home with a $800 proposal for an extensive cleaning. We were shocked and discouraged, to say the least. After getting a second opinion elsewhere, we will never be going back to Apex and are happy to be a part of the White Pine Dental family. When it doubt, always get a second opinion! read more

A very inconsiderate practice with a condescending manager. I had a tooth break on me last night. My regular dentist was booked and I decided to make a phone call to this office because they were nearby and I wanted to get this resolved ASAP. I call and explain the situation and was told they could address it today. I show up and fill out forms and do the typical waiting room thing. I get brought back and the get started with x-rays. Then they disappear for 15 minutes. The dentist comes in and explains I need a crown. I asked how much does that cost? They leave and 15 minutes later someone else comes to discuss the cost. They leave. After that I wait about 20 minutes and then someone comes in to explain they don't have time to do the work today. I am really annoyed about this because the entire reason I am there is because they said they could address this today. The girl says, "Let me get the manager." I say "No, it's not going to change anything." She insists and I get the privilege of waiting around for another 10-15 minutes for the manager to come in. The manager comes in talking to me in a tone of voice typical reserved for an obstinate toddler. It was infuriating. I didn't think talking to the manager would change anything. I was wrong though. It changed me from annoyed to antagonistic. She was totally unapologetic. She just spoke with me as if I was being completely unreasonable. She explained that they are fully booked with other patients and they have had appointments for weeks. I wanted to just slap her. My entire point was that if they were completely booked and don't have time to see me, they shouldn't have told me to come in! She acted like I was crazy and wasting their time; remaining completely oblivious to the double standard because they were very inconsiderate of mine. read more

I had some crown work done, the crown came off within a few months. I went back in to have it repaired. They wanted to charge me again. So they put a temporary crown in. So 3 years later I've still got the temporary. All Apex is interested in is the money not about their patients. Go somewhere else! read more

scheduled an appointment for a cleaning, which at the end of my appointment to my surprise they did not do, only 2 different types of x-rays that my insurance will not cover and only did a fluoride treatment. Re-scheduled me 3 weeks out for a bunch of extremely expensive work which includes the cleaning and did not tell me that I could not eat the morning of my appointment. 2 hours before my app. the day of I get a call to ask if I ate when i say yes then i am told i have to reschedule again. Then I get another call stating that they forgot to schedule my vitals. they didn't even do this for my original appt. that they cancelled, so they screwed up this appointment completely and now has me second guessing their competency read more

Horrible service and a complete waste of time and money. I went in for a consultation in March and was told my wisdom teeth needed to be extracted asap. When scheduling my follow up appointment I was told that soonest available app was June 17th. Obviously I was frustrated and in pain due to my wisdom teeth and asked that they find a sooner time and give me a call to follow up. I was not contacted by them again until 5/25 asking if I could come in a week sooner (something i begged for months prior) but declined due to vacation plans. They then stated that the dentist would be out of town 6/17 and could not see me until July or August. The person I spoke was very rude and with showed very little interest in the conversation and did not apologize once for the inconvenience. I was absolutely shocked by the level of customer service provided and unprofessional-ism they displayed. I will not be going to Apex or referring any friends. read more

If you want to feel like you are being pushed through a commercial meat grinder, go to Apex Dental! They advertise a ton on the radio and obviously want to push through as many patients as possible every hour. One girl will greet you, another one will take your information, another will take you back to the exam room, another will clean your teeth, another will take your xrays, another will do your fluoride, and finally the dentist will see you. When you come back six months later, all new girls and a new dentist! It's crazy. They literally didn't even know each other's names. I kept going because I liked Dr. Armstrong, but apparently you don't get a dedicated dentist, just whoever is there. Even when I had to get a procedure done, the dentist worked on two other patients at the same time. So he did like 3 minutes worth of work, disappears for 10 minutes, comes back for another few min, disappears again and so forth for over 2 hours. I'm sure it would have taken only 1 hour or so had he been focused only on me. Also, they don't care what the cost is to you. They will do special treatments, xrays, options, etc that aren't needed and not covered by your insurance. They are not one bit concerned with checking with you or your insurance on coverage before doing anything. They will automatically do every high-end option "in your best interest". My insurance covers cleanings and yearly exams 100%, but I still get a bill from Apex for other things that they did that I did not request and my insurance won't cover. I really liked Dr Armstrong, he was fantastic. But unfortunately, I will have to find another dental office that is less "efficient". read more

I was overcharged for a filling of a cavity and when they set up my new account as a new patient they set it up with a balance owing. I have been trying for over 6 months to get my money refunded to me and they always have an excuse. "They are waiting for an insurance claim". Now they are telling me that my adult daughter has a claim and they can't refund my money to me that I over paid them out of my pocket until her insurance claim has come through. I would not recommend this office to anyone. You will never get your money back if you over pay them!!! Worst customer service ever!! read more

Scheduled a free consultation for my son. On their website, as well as over the phone, they state that a consultation for a frenectomy is free. However, after bringing my son in for the consultation, they billed my insurance for $76. After over three weeks and five failed attempts at getting to speak with someone about my concern, they told me that because the dentist 'looked' at my son's mouth, that it was now considered an 'exam' instead of a 'consultation' and as such had to be charged. For clarity, we scheduled only for a free consultation, not an exam, and when the dentist did actually 'look' at my son's mouth, it was literally for less than five seconds that he briefly glanced at it while my wife held my son's mouth open. The rest of the five minute consultation, or 'exam' as they considered it, was spent talking about whether a frenectomy was needed or not. This kind of practice and advertising is very deceptive. I've filed a compliant with the BBB, as well as opened up an investigation with my dental insurance provider for the disputed charge. read more

The actual dentists and hygienists are great... Even the Assistant hygienists that do the xrays, are great... The front office staff murders their success though... They seem to not know how to get a patient from start to finish without A LOT of hiccups, pain and irritation. I went in for a consultation, they took a long time to get the quote ready once a treatment plan was completed. I informed them over the phone that any dental work would require an antibiotic for me to take ahead of time. They never called it into the pharmacy that I specified. Luckily, I had some left over, so I was able to complete the visit. Once the treatment plan was done, the quote was to be completed. Errors in the quote. I scheduled an appointment to start on the treatment plan and was to have a cleaning and fillings done the same day while my mouth was to be numb. Informed the Hygienist as well as the office staff that I have a severe cancer sore issue with injection sites and they BOTH stated that they are able to call in a special mouthwash that would help me with that after my appointments. (They KNEW the date of the appointment, they never called the RX in). I showed up for the appointment, they did not have me scheduled for the fillings as they were supposed to according to the treatment plan and what they stated at the consult. They wee able to squeeze me in, but you could tell, I was throwing off the Dentists day... After the appointment, I went back up to the front to check out and find out where they called the mouthwash in to. It was not called in. They said they would do it right away. I went to work and the numbing started to wear off. The pain was incredible... Mouth sores on the whole inside of my cheek from the gums to my lip and all the way back. Couldn't eat or drink. Called them again to find out where they called the RX in to. Still had not called it in but they said they would right away. I was not able to eat or drink anything due to the pain. Called the pharmacy where they were to call the RX in to and they did not have it. Waited about an hour and called the pharmacy again. Still nothing. Called the office again and was told they would "call it in right now"... After 3-4 times of telling them that I needed it, they said they called it in. I left work at my regular 5:30PM and went to that pharmacy to pick up RX... Still I was not in the system and they had nothing for me. By this point, I am about to cry the pain is so intense and I still have not eaten or drank anything since Sunday night. Called their "Emergency Dental line" and no one answered. Left a voice mail that was never returned. Went in Tuesday morning and tried to just pick up the paper script to go fill the RX myself. They assured me that they called it in... Where, I have NO idea... Turns out they called it into a completely different pharmacy that the one they were telling me. Finally found out that it had to go to a compounding pharmacy (which, I KNOW I am not the only person that has had that mouthwash) so I was baffled as to why they did not just call it into a compounding pharmacy in the first place. Its now Tuesday afternoon and I still have not eaten or drank anything since Sunday evening. My husband goes to get the RX at the compounding pharmacy, which I verified the address with the dental office, and it was not the right pharmacy. Luckily, the pharmacy had me in their system and knew where that could be picked up. How on earth can you get things SOOOOOO wrong? Just a fiasco and not a well organized office at all... If you decide to use this provider, MAKE SURE you get EVERYTHING in writing and follow up ahead of your appointment if you think you will need an RX afterward... read more

TERRIBLE HORRIBLE NO GOOD VERY BAD BILLING CUSTOMER CARE FROM BOTTOM TO TOP OFFICE. THe actual dental cleaning & work was great which I like this place for & extended my sincere interests in continuing to be a patient BUT I had a crown done & was super adamant about all fees & complete total with insurance & my personal portions out of pocket. The billing person gave all quotes & balances & all info regarding all fees period. So with all info I only decided to preceded if there was "NOTHING" at all left to worry about. Then of court they said I had "zero" balance & any billing might show a bit that would be nothing to worry about but I kept getting billed for what they personally told he was completely 100% paid. I talked to people in office from & even to top billing managers & they never took any responsibility for an error on their end.
