Rating: Less Than 1 Star…read more I found a hat priced at $209 that had a visible hole in the outer brim. When I pointed it out to the sales associate, she told me that was "how the hat is made." I asked whether there were any other holes like it on the hat, and she acknowledged there were not. Because the item was a final sale, I asked whether they would consider a discount due to the defect. The assistant manager declined. I then asked to speak with the store manager and was told the manager was not there. When I asked who could make that decision, the assistant manager said she would need to contact the executive manager but did not offer to do so until I specifically asked her to make the call. Instead, she took the hat from me and said she would return it to the vendor. I explained that I wanted to buy the hat and was simply requesting a reasonable discount because it had a visible defect. At that point, she said, "It can't hurt to ask the manager," took my phone number, and said someone would get back to me. I'm waiting to see whether management follows up and will update this review accordingly.

He tried on a brand and fell in love; didn't even blink at the price tag, which was over $50. He wore it every day for the rest of our trip! I am obsessed with the hat I got from Village Hat Shop…read more I window shop every time I walk by and have been in a few times trying to find the right hat in the right price range. They have hats of all kinds from high end baseball caps to fedoras and cowboy hats. I have a small head so buying hats online doesn't usually end up working out. It's great to have a local option! I think the prices are a little high, but so are PB rent prices for businesses so whatever. I'm glad I can try things on before making my purchase. They seem to refresh their window selection often and always have something new to check out. Next time I need a hat I'll be back!

When I went to get my hat a while later someone had moved it to the floor (yikes) and a plastic cup of Coke had apparently slipped off a window sill above and dumped its contents into my upside down hat. By the time I got there the Coca Cola had been drip drip dripping through the top of the upside down hat and puddling onto the floor. I about threw up when I saw it. I may have said some bad words. I ran to a sink to try and rinse out the horrible brown stain right on the front crown but the damage was done. I thought my negligence had destroyed a $300 hat. That's when I found El Centenario in Chula Vista. They delivered. They washed it, reshaped it, and stiffened it to Stetson factory standards. All for $50. Couldn't be happier. If you wreck your had, trust them with it.

The receipt clearly shows the actual total was $100 to begin with, so it really felt like she was trying to overcharge me and only backed off because I noticed. We got a SD New Era one for my son! His first sports "name brand" hat. To my surprise we can get it customized! So for his first hat we did! The worker was super friendly and told us any color! We just did gold yellow to match but also added extra diamonds (they called it stars). We chose the Kindergarten font since it goes with him being an infant! It's super cute! I love it so much and we will keep this hat even when he outgrows it! Took about 30 mins to complete which was fine, we went to eat while he worked on that. The letters seem a little crooked to me like it's descending but with the font (which we did all caps), it's fine. The cap itself was $27.99 but with customization it came to almost $50. I did try to look online to see if it was sold anywhere but those are hard to find so it was worth it for us.
