I haven't been here in years but my friend wanted to meet here for a quick brunch. She likes it, but I have gotten use to eating in better brunch places, not 1stuck in the 1980s. Typical diner menu of average food and large portions. Nothing adventurous, maybe why my ex husband liked eating here years ago. I had eggs and meat with toast, over easy, ham, and sourdough bread. Since I am not a big eater, the ham was taken home. Service was spotty at best and the place wasn't that busy. The dining room and parking lot looks a little run down. I do not live in this area, but whenever I get around 12 Mile and Northwestern Hwy, I try to stop to eat at this Ram's Horn. I cannot say enough good things about the Ram's Horn at this location. The food was bland, mashed potatoes at best. I saw my waitress ask her for it to go bag special order actually didn't see her for another 20 minutes then she comes up with the bill. They didn't even have to go on it when I went to check out the guy at the front said everything OK and I said except for the service I probably won't return he goes. He walked away. That is not good. I visited Ram's Horn for breakfast while my car was being worked on. I ordered the Southwest Bowl and a coffee. It tasted fine. I could even taste the spice of the pepper (I'm from the Southwest originally working in the Midwest). I used to come here when I worked down the street. That was over 20 years ago. I was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. Everyone was super friendly. I had three different people greet me when I got seated. I decided to go with breakfast--three over medium eggs sausage hash browns and wheat toast. I was surprised at how quickly I got my food. Not quite a diner but offering a number of diner-like items, my visit to Ram's Horn was a weekday at 7:00 AM. Quite empty with one server really hustling to bring menus, take orders, bring food from the kitchen and keep coffee cups filled. She did a great job! Corned beef and eggs was a big meal with three eggs (I ordered them poached) and corned beef hash and potatoes *and* toast. Jeez, that's a lot of food. Eggs were great, toast was great, I could only eat one of the three medium-sized pancakes and the hash was okay but a little greasy. Coffee kept coming, which was great. All told, a very nice breakfast for just over $10. Wifi worked well. I'd come back. read more

This is the worst experience ever. I ordered my food through Yelp, on the app it asks for a pick up time, well when I went to pick up my food at the pick up time that I chose, the food was cold. I asked them how long was my food sitting on the table because the food was cold. Well one of the employees was welling to help but another employee came and was so rude to me and basically told me, he wasn't goin to remake my food. Never again will I order anything from here. There is really nowhere else to eat late at night in this area, unless you want fast food, so after a night of drinking, this is the place. It's Ram's Horn. The service is usually pretty good but can be slow, but the food is decent cheap eats. Personally, my go-to is the classic potato skins and a side salad, but I've had lots of things here: the buffalo chicken salad stands out, as does the Cali chicken club with lots of yummy avocado. Where to start, we were told to sit anywhere yet the tables were dirty that we wanted to sit at so the girl sat us at the only clean table right next to another group that were having to ask for items over and over and the lady at the table got up and searched for silverware. We waited 18 minutes for someone to take our drink order, while two waitresses and another guy with tats on his arms stood around and talked about school, hours they work and what things they had to do and still work. After he took the order it took him 10 minutes to get the drinks, he had a attitude like he did not want to be there. The food came however no silverware which I asked for in the beginning , I asked again and he went to find some, I also asked for a side of ranch which I had to ask twice for. Still other employees were standing around, sitting around eating and talking about their personal lifes. It seem like the guy with tats was in charge but he was just as bad , he was standing around talking and not helping with customers, just barking orders and talking personal lifes. I had drank my tea and was trying to get more but nobody was looking at us, so my husband went to the counter and asked the guy I think was in charge he said ok, however we had to ask again . The only meal that I trust this place to make for me is breakfast! Once I ordered a Caesar salad And there was no romaine lettuce in sight. It was soggy, the chicken was not at all fresh at all and was small. There were other random veggies thrown in such as tomato and onions (not the contents according to the menu so I should have been asked if i wanted these add'l items in my salad). This is not the only gripe I have about the food, just an example... However, I really do like their strawberry pancakes...The staff is usually nice and it's usually clean. First time eating in at this Rams Horn. I have ordered delivery from them before. Today for lunch hate a chicken strip gyro with fries and cheese sauce on the side. The services was very slow for a place that is not very busy. And the atmosphere is a little out of date and gloomy. However their food is fairly good. You can tell that the Swiss cheese used in the chicken strip gyro is real Swiss by the taste, not the fake white American stuff most places use. When I walked into the restaurant, I realized nothing had changed from the last time I was there. Unfortunately, last time I was at this Ram's Horn location, I was pulling all-nighters as a college student. That was about 25 years ago. We placed our orders with our chatty, but nice waitress. Although there was only a smattering of people, our food took quite a while to come out. At one point, I saw food just sitting in the window. Sadly, I soon realized that it was part of our order getting cold while waiting on the rest. I ordered the roast beef dinner with potatoes, salad and broccoli. I asked for the gravy on the side just in case I didn't like it. The portion of beef that came with the meal was puny and extremely dry, as was the cornbeef in the sandwich that was ordered. Instead of broccoli, they bought green beans, which had absolutely no seasoning, including salt. When they brought out the broccoli, it appeared that it had just gone from freezer bag to microwave. The mashed potatoes we're very stiff, like boxed potatoes that didn't receive enough liquid. At some point in time, another server came out to give me a dinner roll that was apparently supposed to be included with the meal. My daughter ordered the Cajun Burger, with a few modifications and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were cold and overcooked. The burger that she had requested with an egg did not have one on it. So, she had to wait for her food to get colder, as they cooked an egg to bring to her. I think they had to wait for a chicken to lay the egg too. The best things about this experience were the dinner roll, the side salad and the friendliness of the staff. I wish I could avoid the actual star rating since I didn't actually eat here, but they require an automatic 15% service fee for all orders, which I find to be absolutely ridiculous. I have been going to this Ram's Horn for years - probably at least 15 years. It's been owned by the same family for longer and is a wonderful restaurant. Let me tell you a bit more about the genuine poeple there. My mother has lots of health issues, and hasn't been able to drive for over 8 years. I would frequently take her shopping, to Dr appointments and to the casinos - our first stop was ALWAYS this Ram's Horn for breakfast. There was always the same few servers, who knew us by name and remembered orders by heart. My dad would even get carryout for my mom form there occasionally and he, too, was well-known. My mother passed away last July and the outpouring of love and affection from this store was overwhelming. I stop in weekly to have breakfast and see either Rose or Susie (mother & daughter servers), and they're sweet as can be. So, this may not be a 5-star restaurant in terms of steaks and chops, but it's a good, solid diner/family restaurant. Breakfasts are the best (chicken fried steak & eggs is THE BOMB), good pita sandwiches and the cobb salad is great. Good food, good service and truly caring employees. HIGHLY recommend. read more
