I literally called everyone that came up and then I asked those shops who they would recommend if they needed a walk-in appointment same day (on a late Saturday afternoon), and where you wouldn't get blocked by a stupid online reservation system wanting to book you two weeks out! The Parlor was suggested on my 7th or 8th call, I held no hope, but then spoke to Frankie and he said, "just walk-in, I've got you!" Frankie did great job with my son, who is very particular! The irony is that they are right next door to the Original Pancake House in Poway, which is a longtime favorite breakfast spot for our family. It's clear that The Parlor has been a staple establishment in the area for a very long time and for a very good reason... Wonderful people, great work, amazing work ethic and beyond reasonable prices! Thanks for hooking us up, Frankie, we will be back!

Great cuts, consistent service, and a place that feels familiar!…read more I moved to the US in December and have been shopping around for a local barber since March. I've always preferred walking in without an appointment, just to see what kind of experience I'd get. Every visit here has been a good one, and more importantly, consistently so. As someone who's still relatively new to the area, finding places that offer a sense of familiarity and permanence means a lot to me. It's nice to finally have a barbershop I can keep coming back to without having to think twice. Great shop, great people, and consistently good cuts. Highly recommended!

I keep my hair at least 3+ " long so never thought of going to a Barber since they're know for a buzz cut. No TV's, no games, just old school man talking to you about like. I can't say enough good things about Pappy's Barbershop…read more I recently brought my elderly father in for a haircut without an appointment, fully expecting that we might have to come back another day. Instead, the owner personally welcomed us, took the time to fit my dad in, and treated him with genuine kindness and respect. What truly touched me was his generosity. After giving my father a great haircut, the owner refused to charge us. That level of compassion and thoughtfulness is rare and speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. The haircut looked fantastic, but what stood out even more was the way he treated my dad. He made him feel comfortable, valued, and cared for, and that meant a lot to our family. It's clear that for the owner, this business is about more than just cutting hair--it's about treating people with dignity and kindness. Thank you for going above and beyond. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and will absolutely be back. I highly recommend Pappy's Barbershop to anyone looking for excellent service from an owner who truly cares about his customers. Thank you again for your compassion and generosity!

Great work Clayton, I appreciate you!…read more I've had long hair for months and wanted to clean up and feel good. I looked through some barbershops and found Pappy's in Poway. I made an appointment yesterday and got my cut today. When I walked in, I was offered a drink, some snacks, and a place to sit. Waited just a few moments for Clayton and we got started. I did request that we have a short consult before the haircut and I made sure I came early. They're pretty booked up. I asked for Clayton's opinion, he gave it, and I agreed. It wasn't rushed and he took time to understand what I wanted. And then he delivered! The shop is kept cool, clean, and comfortable. Thanks again guys!
