Wayne is the best. After your first haircut (or second, sometimes), you won't even have to tell him how you like it. You just sit down, have a conversation, and in 10-15 minutes, you're wishing him a nice day/weekend. Just that simple. Furthermore, if you want REAL Ramona News and happenings, this is the place to get them - only the OG's go to City Barber Shop and Wayne learns a lot about what's happening in our corner of San Diego. A quick note on the kind of guy Wayne is and what he stands for: I was once in the chair when a fellow patron asked Wayne why his prices were so low. Wayne told the man that Ramona is not a rich town. There are a lot of single mothers and people who are down on their luck. By keeping his prices low, Wayne is able to give back to the community. To My Little Yelplings, I have been trying to find a really good barber to cut my hair just the way I want it. I have been recommended to come here and check out Wayne. Wayne is a really friendly barber and he is an old fashioned barber which is just what I need. He exceeded my expectations in cutting my hair and did a fantastic job. He cut my hair gently (not rough) and really put pride in his work. I really loved that he squared the back of my head so well. He even straight bladed the areas that needed to be cut to perfection. City Barber Shop, and Wayne, are part of what makes Ramona still feel like a small town. His haircuts are only six dollars, he still uses an old-school razor to finish it off, and he has NEVER given a bad haircut to me or anyone I know. Received my first haircut here a few weeks ago. Wayne did a great job and is the nicest guy you will ever meet. The place is very nostalgic. He even finishes cleaning up around the neck and ears with a straight razor. Not many places like this exist anymore. Great person to chat with as well. Cannot beat the prices either ($8 a cut). What a sweet hard working gentlemen he did an amazing military fade in the shortest amount of time possible with a straight edge. $8.00 for the best cut Cisco has gotten since being stationed in SD in 4 years. They close @ 3pm on Saturday and closed Sunday so def go Saturday but this is 100% our spot now. He was so kind the ambiance inside reflected that it was maintained and around for many years. Wayne can NOT CUT HAIR. I see all these old folks giving him 5 stars, and I understand that's loyalty. But when your in the military, you know what a GOOD haircut is. I heard about this place from a friend and was told he got a good razor fade for only 6 bucks. Woke up early on Saturday excited as hell to finally find a good barber to give my business to in Ramona. He's a very nice old man, talks alot, cusses, asks about family and how your life is going.. all that's great. But when it comes down to it, I came for a haircut. I was suppose to get a medium razor fade. 5 minutes later, he shows me the sides, it looks... somewhat good. Not a perfect fade, but okish. He started the razor and he's shaving fast as hell. (Which I was the only customer) so I don't know why he rushed it. The entire back of my head starts burning. I assume it's from the foam he put on. Since its my first time there I gave him a 9 dollar TIP So 15 total.. I leave and go home. My wife freaks out and puts my hand on the back of my head and I look at it and it was COVERED in blood. I could make a solid hand print on the wall if I wanted. She cleans me up and takes a picture. That's the picture I have posted. There is NO FADE WHAT SO EVER. It's embarrassing. I can't believe he let me walk out of there like that. All in all, he let my future business walk out as well. And a nasty yelp to make sure other brothers in arms don't get the same results I have. read more

Came in and had my grandson's hair cut by Wayne. We were the only one in the barber shop besides the guy Wayne continued to talk to for several minutes while we waited. Finally he ask what he could do for him and I told him I needed it thinned out and cut and that was the last thing he said to my grandson. He didn't talk to him or us the whole time he was cutting his hair when he was finished he said what do you think it looked better than before but when we walked out of there it looked like a bowl cut. I was going on Yelp's review about Wayne and what a great guy he was and a great barber. Sorry Wayne you had a Off Day. Not only did you mess up my grandson's haircut and I had to go somewhere else to get his haircut but you were rude and made us feel unwelcome in your City. You need to retire so you don't give your City a name where people are rude to people who don't live here. I gave it only one star because the hair cut cost $6.00 I guess its what they say you get what you pay for and in this case I paid $5.00 too much. read more
