Went to get a haircut this morning and the person that opened showed up 20 minutes late. Their sign says they open at 9:00 am. He claimed heavy traffic from Clairemont to Rancho Bernardo was the reason for his extreme lateness. I immediately checked Google Maps and there was no sign of any northbound traffic congestion from Clairemont to Rancho Barnardo. It was an outright lie. This was the 3rd time this has happened to me at Pro Barber. I show up at the opening time and have waited at least 20-30 minutes for someone to actually show up and open. When I asked for the Owners name and phone number he told me "Danny" owned the establishment but refused to give me Danny's phone number. When I asked him for his name, he also refused to give that to me. I plan on lodging a complaint with the "Board of Barbering & Cosmetology" - which was a plaque Pro Barber had on their wall stating to contact them with any complaints. I have been a customer of Pro Barber for many years but I am now done with them. The way I was treated this morning and lied to was simply inexcusible. This is the first time coming here and after I saw the reviews I was a little concerned but it was really the only place open on Sunday. When I came in there was already two customers ahead of me, a child and adult male. I watched pretty closely as she cut both of their hair since the reviews seem to complain about the mirror and a few other things. I've never really faced a mirror myself during a haircut and didn't really care all that much to watch but in watching her cut the other two people's hair I felt OK with cutting mine. I've been trying out a new barbershop in the area every time I need a haircut, which is every two weeks. FINALLY! This place can give you a clean fade. I've asked for numerous places in the area to give me a #2 on the top and #1 on the sides (hence the fade to blend the two different clipper sizes). I walked in on a Saturday morning and there were three ladies there cutting hair. I waited no more than 5 minutes. I told her what I wanted and was on my way. They do take their time when cutting their hair. I'd rather have this then have random hairs sticking up. My only complaint was that they do fades, but didn't quite know how to give me a nice edge up to clean up my sideburns and shave off my widows peak. I said that's fine and I could do it myself with a razor at home. It would have been cool if they were able to do that. It's in the plaza where RB Sushi is, but on the opposite side of the sushi place. It's a corner place closer to the Little Caesars. Good place for a nice haircut. Will definitely come back here. And it was 11 bucks, so you can't beat a clean haircut at that price. read more

This place ruined my hair. It's been 3 weeks and it still looks awful. You'd be better off cutting your own hair with a steak knife. The lady wouldn't even let me watch my hair being cut in the mirror?? She kept turning me around and it was obvious she had no clue what she was doing. My hair is easy and takes 15 minutes to be cut. I was only given the chance for a quick peek at the haircut at the end of it and couldn't see the back. The way I figure the hair cutting expert has been cutting hair a long time so they got it down with no need for taking their time ... start cutting an I want to be done in 10 minutes. Been coming to Pro Barber for a couple of years. The barbers are actually lady barbers. I haven't asked their names yet other than to discover in conversation they are originally from Vietnam. I can tell you they are very nice and caring ... doing a good job is important. I think they enjoy my visits as when ever they hand the mirror to me to look, I refuse to look and tell them "I'm sure it's fantastic ... I don't need to look." They laugh every time. Overall a good place for a haircut. They take their time and really pay attention to your haircut. After going to a chain down the street that tries to churn through as many customers as possible and charges 50% more, this place is now my go to in the area. The ladies are very nice, cheaper than most places in town and they usually do a decent job. Also, there is usually little to no wait so a good place when you need to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I found my place! I have been trying to find a barber for forever. They do not only do an awesome job, but they are very inexpensive.
