Absolutely delicious! There is quite a few things to select from. I took my daughter and we had a mini early dinner. We were sat as soon as we walked in. Had waters ready for us. (They used bottle water which is awesome) The owner came by and asked how everything was which is great! Many places don't do that! We chose the chicken ramen. One spicy one not. We got Chicken dumplings and seaweed salad! It was amazing.

The Ramen soup is amazing! My husband and I both shared the karrage chicken appetizer. The meat was soft and easy to chew and very tasty, you also get a nice portion size perfect for 2-4 people to share. They gave us a bottled water as soon as we were seated. There is an air cleaning machine in the center of the dining room and I have not seen this at any other restaurant, this is a bonus reason to dine here. We both ordered the same, Ramen Tonkotsu (pork broth) and pork Chashu meat. I ordered mine spicy and my husband wanted it mild. We were both satisfied with the level of spice and the flavor of the broth! If your in the area I recommend you stop by and give the ramen a try! We have been eating a lot of ramen lately and this is easily in our top five! We will be back! There is a Thai menu and a ramen menu, you can also use a QR code and order from your phone for dine in or take out.

The food was good and the kids enjoyed the restaurant. The ramen was good but not great. I'm sure we will be back and I'll try some other items. The fried rice was really good. We also got mango sticky rice which was delicious, but such a tiny portion of sticky rice for 9$.

In my head, this feels like it will be a lengthy review. As a courtesy to those with a short attention span, I will start with a quick summary: Food: 4 stars Atmosphere: 3 stars Service: 5 stars Overall: 4 stars On to my review: I'm still relatively new to the area, and frequently utilize the search engine on Yelp! to find lunch options. Two different restaurants have been on my radar: Ramen Time and Jimmy Thai. Today, I discovered they have the same ownership, and occupy the same space. When you walk in, you can sit at a table, or the counter/bar. I chose the counter. They give you two menus - one for Ramen Time, and one for Jimmy Thai. I'm not sure why they don't simplify things and give you one menu, but it is the owner's prerogative and won't effect my rating. At lunch time, after you are seated, and decide what you want - you walk up to the cash register to order, they give you a number, and bring you your food. I ordered the Tonkostu Ramen with Chicken Karaage. It was excellent! I never think of Ramen as very hearty, but it's been a couple of hours since I finished lunch, and I'm still full (and all I had for breakfast was one banana). One word of caution: When you order at the register, there is a tip jar. Naturally, I threw my tip in there. Then, after my meal I thought: "uh oh, the wait staff probably didn't see me throw a tip in the jar. I hope they don't think I'm stiffing them." Afterward, it occurred to me, perhaps the tip jar is intended more for cary-out. In the future I will leave my tip at the table. This will obviously not impact my rating. I really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere here. I will definitely definitely add this to my list of local lunch options. Ramen on my friends, Ramen on...

We were at Macy's until around 8pm tonight. When we left we were both hungry so we looked for something hot to warm us up because it was chilly out. We found "Ramen Time" on Yelp a little over a mile from Northbrook Court (sounded good 4 1/2 stars on 80 something reviews). The only problem is where the hell is it? As usual I mapped it and we arrived & drove around the parking lot 2X's driving slowly trying to locate "RAMEN TIME". We were unable to find it so I remapped the location thinking perhaps we had the wrong location. I ended back up on Lake Cook Road only to be redirected back to the same strip mall. Once again we drove around looking for "RAMEN TIME". Nada? I called the number and they told me it was by The Dunkin Donuts as you entered the lot so we went back to Dunkin Donuts & circled around the building. Once again NADA? WTF? I called once again and found out the name of the restaurant on the storefront is "JIMMY THAI". After going in I questioned them on the discrepancy as it's very confusing looking for "RAMEN TIME" W/a "JIMMY THAI" sign he told me they combined the spaces. After going in they had 2 menus on 2 different walls, 1 for "RAMEN TIME" & 1 for "JIMMY THAI". When all was said and done we were finally able to order ramen the ramen we were craving it was pretty tasty. I got the miso based broth w/shrimp tempura on the side. The shrimp tempura was good, but a bit odd in the respect that it wasn't light, crispy & fluffy like tempura you get at a good Japanese restaurant. The tempura reminded me very much of the pre packaged pieces of shrimp tempura that I pick up at Assi (Korean market). Lately I have had a craving for hot soups w/noodles either Ramen or Pho (probably the colder weather). Ramen Time was pretty tasty but kind of a small portions by comparison to other ramen restaurants I have been to recently. If I am in the area again I would probably go back and try the Thai food next time. I would give them a 3 - 3 1/2 star rating. The food was good, but I have had better recently.

I decided to give Ramen Time a try this week when I was graving some delicious ramen! This restaurant did not disappoint. I used their online ordering system to pick up my meal curbside and the whole process was a breeze. Ordering online is really easy with them. You just need to pick your broth, protein, and veggies, and they prep it for you beautifully! I also really like that they kept the broth, protein, and noodles/veggies separate so your food doesn't get soggy. I found I actually had a LOT of broth left over, so if you want to make some noodles and veggies later on to add to the extra broth, you can definitely do it. Really happy I tried them out!

Literally can't say enough good things about the food and the customer service here! The food was absolutely delicious. My family has heard me rave about this ramen for weeks now. The broth had great flavor and all the ingredients in the bowl were cooked perfectly. I got the extra shrimp tempura on the side and look at the size of the shrimp! The portions were just right! Ramen time is in the same restaurant as Jimmy Thai. Several different servers came around to ask how everything was and if there's anything else we needed. Each server provided exceptional customer service and just made for a great first experience here. So glad ramen time and Jimmy Thai is so close to us and we definitely will be back for more ramen but also to try the Thai food here. They have a big menu with lots of variety! Just a year ago, premium ramen was probably one of the last things I'd expect to find in this area of Deerfield that caters mainly to local businesspersons and travelers. Fortunately, Jimmy saw the need to fill in a gap here (for those who can't travel to Glenview, Northbrook, Arlington Heights, etc. where this is more common) and has done a commendable job with his offerings. I tried a few items here, but this was enough to solidify a positive impression of the restaurant. The edamame was prepared nicely and steamed just about right. Slightly salty, but was pleasant as an appetizer. The shrimp tempura was super crispy with a nice meaty bit of shrimp inside. As for the ramen, the tonkotsu broth was thick and aromatic, with an instant sense of umami -- without being too salty. This was tempered nicely with bok choy, cabbage, and scallions. The molten egg was a nice touch visually and in adding some texture and the chashu was very nice and tender. Noodles were nice and chewy to match everything perfectly. Overall, very nice offering in this area of Deerfield and food is executed well.

Thought this place would be a little gimmicky since it's essentially an extension of Jimmy Thai under a different trademark. I have to say.. these guys know food. These guys know Ramen. Got the spicy Tonkatsu broth with Chashu - noodles were perfect, Chashu super tender, broth perfect blend of spice and flavor. I was honestly shocked. I used to drive 30 minutes to go to Hokkaido for Japanese style ramen but this place does as well of a job and it's across the street. Was worried how the ramen would hold up since we ordered carryout but the containers were well thought out and it was still hot and fresh by the time we were ready to chow down. read more

I think this place is a hidden gem :) At first we got confused where the entrance was because the sign only said Jimmy Thai. It's a fusion with Ramen Time and Jimmy Thai. We ordered pad thai, red curry, chicken satay, tonkatsu ramen, and thai ice cream. Their portion seems small but it's actually a lot. We all were satisfied with our orders. Also, the manager gave us complimentary gyoza for waiting for our table. We barely waited so we weren't unsatisfied for the wait. All staffs were so nice. Oh no!!!! Yup. The moment you incorporate "Asian" dishes (Japanese and thai ) in one roof, it spells disaster ... The serving is very small , a little over a mug, the broth is very bland; no-taste-no-distinction from a hot water ... the pork and beef and chicken that's add on its like being pulled out from a frozen bag... the noddle (not fresh or from scratch ) has no difference than an instant Mami noddle you find in Asian grocery store .. Oh and the location is in the very corner of a small strip mall ... the whole restaurant in itself has no vibe ... This is what makes it ONE STAR. Sad- Don't even try not unless your standard of a ramen is a hot water with ramen and few bits of unrecognized meat. read more

So I ate all of my ramen before I could snap a photo..that should tell you something. Ramen Time hits the spot! Haven't found a ramen place near my work but came across this place and I'm so glad I did. First you start with a base, i picked the spicy chicken broth. Then protein, I chose beef slices. It already come with cabbage, egg, and scallions and then I added mushrooms for an additional cost. Beef was very tender. Jim made the broth mild and gave me a side of their hot sauce and it is HOT but so good! If you're not so sure about spicy, ask for sauce on the side and add a tiny bit until it's right for you. Price was reasonable and average for other ramen places I've been too, I think my bill was $13 with change. They also gave me a soft drink with it. This is a family owned and operated business. Jim and his wife are so sweet. I love supporting small business and will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I love Asian food. We are avid travelers and have tried it in different parts of the world! The ramen at this place is very tasty! I love that you can choose your broth ( a vegetarian one is available) and your protein and toppings. The owner is very friendly and attentive. My husband shared with him that we liked the sauce that came with the potstickers. He brought us a complimentary carry out sample of the sauce. Oh my goodness! My husband and I stopped in for lunch at Jimmy Thai and what a treat! Everything was fantastic from the food to the service to the atmosphere. We started with a couple of appetizers - crab rangoon and the chicken karaage. Both were delicious! Jimmy himself was our server and since we ordered everything spicy - he brought us a homemade hot sauce made with habanero peppers to mix into our sauce. We made full use of it and mixed it with the spicy sauce that comes with the chicken. It was very spicy and well-balanced and added a nice kick to the chicken. Then came the star of the show - the ramen. We both ordered the tonkatsu spicy broth with beef Chaschu and marinated sliced portabello mushrooms on top. It was nicely flavored and so so delicious! We wanted to have saki with our meal and Jimmy recommended we do a small carafe of hot saki. What a wonderful recommendation. We really enjoyed our visit. Jimmy made us feel at home. We talked to him about his food origins which are Thai-based, and he offered to let us try a sample of his Thai cooking - the panang curry and oh my it was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to come back and try more dishes and have the ramen again. Just a great experience all around. read more

Best ramen in the suburbs, hands down! The owner is the nicest guy. I work right down the street and love coming for lunch. You get a fountain drink with the lunch special which is nice. The only thing is it gets pretty crowded (because it's so good!) so make sure you leave enough time! read more

So I am new to the area and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat. This place came up on yelp and got good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I am soooo happy I did!! It was a bit difficult to find as it is located within another restaurant called Jimmy Thai (and there was no neon Ramen Time sign), but I am glad I did not give up! I got the ramen bowl with spicy pork broth, pork strips for the protein, and added fish cakes and kimchi for an additional cost. The owner was amazing and recommended a great Thai beer, provided complimentary edamame with the beer, AND gave me a housemade habanero paste to add to the broth as he must have known I love the spice! The ramen hit the spot and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area or who is visiting! Will be coming back! read more

as you can see in the picture below how good the food was. We did not leave anything on our plates. we were very skeptical about coming here because we are picky with our ramen as we have been to japan many times and know what it is supposed to taste like. I generally have low expectations, but this place would have surpassed even high ones. We tried the cucumber salad, the tonkatsu ramen (spicy) with spinach and tofu, and the shrimp pad thai. All of it was fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. The place was absolutely packed but the servers and the bussers were so efficient, nothing felt chaotic. I only had the ramen about 2 hours ago, but I already want more. I would have never expected flavors that complex from a strip mall joint in Deerfield. The owner was there as well, and might be the kindest human in Deerfield. He was making sure everyone in the restaurant was happy, smiled a lot, and chatted just enough to be friendly without being overbearing. Just about everything in that strip mall has closed, besides the Secretary of State. Please don't close, Jimmy Thai. Please continue to be the exception. read more

I would like to thank the owner and his wife for a great meal and more importantly, for their kindness and good conversation. This restaurant was simply fantastic! I just want to say this is one of the most unique restaurants I have ever been to. It's not just a Thai restaurant but it's also a Ramen joint as well. So if you're not in the mood for Thai food, their Ramen is just as good! My experience here was fantastic, I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was seated almost immediately. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with Pork Slices. The broth was rich and tasty. Pork slices were extremely tender and melted in my mouth. I recommend you to ask them for their house habanero hot sauce if you like you're Ramen spicy. It kicks up the heat and flavor of the broth from the garlic! If you're ever in town and you are craving great Ramen but don't want to drive all the way out to Chicago. This place hits the spot! read more

Delicious food. The ramen bowl with steak was very filling and delicious. I got it spicy and it was very hot but tolerable. The pad Thai here was delicious as well. Compared well to my all time favorite pad Thai. The staff was very friendly and always there to keep our drinks full and see if we needed anything. They even offered us free edimame. I thought this place was cute and I like that it's a combination with Jimmy Thai, which definitely expands the menu. The ramen wasn't my favorite ramen that I've tried, but it's still delicious. It differs in the fact that the broth is not at all greasy and it's light in flavor. read more

Ramen was very good, even better than some that are in Chicago. Packed with flavor I can't recommend one broth or meat over the other since they are all great. Highly recommend adding butter corn. Oh my godddd. I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen with pork and it was SO good. Even my kids finished their bowls of ramen which is almost unheard of for them. Normally I make them split when we go out but they loved it as well. The service was fantastic as well. I only wish I lived closer read more

I got the spicy beef broth and the beef slices. You know I had to hit it with the seaweed and the shiitake shrooms too. They also came out with a habanero paste that was totally unhinged. Was so glad to find a Ramen place when I was out and about in the Northern suburbs. Went around lunch time, and the service was fast, which is great for lunchtime. I got a ramen bowl, and everything was delish. The dining area was clean, and so were the bathrooms. For the burbs I'm giving this 5 stars, but if it was in the city it would only be 4. I would definitely go back again if in the area. read more

Best vegetarian ramen I've had. I live 30 minutes away from Ramen time, but make the trip out there once every 3 weeks for their ramen. The veggie broth is the most flavorful broth I've had. However, it has been our go-to place for ramen takeout for some time now, this review is focused on their takeout ramen. After about two years' time, we have narrowed our preferences to the Red Miso Ramen with Egg and the White Miso Ramen with Egg. Both ramen comes with a big piece of Cha-Shu (pork), bamboo shoot, and green onion. The Cha-Shu is very tender and flavorful, and the egg cooked just right. The ramen noodles are bouncy with the right texture. When it comes to broth, the White Miso Ramen is definitely a winner over the Red Miso. I found the broth of the Red Miso a little too thick and there is a taste that makes it less pleasant than the other. There is ground pork in the broth of the White Miso, which adds flavor and complexity to the texture. Portions used to be very big, and I used to have leftovers. However, recently portions have shrunk and I could finish the entire bowl of White Miso Ramen with Egg in one meal with no problems. It would not be enough to feed someone with a bigger appetite than me. They had made a couple of mistakes in our takeout orders a year ago. Since then, they have been accurate with the orders and timing has also improved. I am pleased to have Chicago Ramen in our neighbor town, and a bowl of tasty ramen is so close by. I just saw that they have added Shrimp Wonton Ramen (and two other items) to their menu recently. Next time I might give that a try.

I recently visited Ramen Time with my cousins and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! As someone who doesn't live in the area, I was thrilled to find such an authentic and delicious ramen spot. First off, the location was great and easy to find. The interior of the restaurant had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with Japanese-inspired decor and dim lighting. It was the perfect setting for a bowl of hot and comforting ramen on a chilly day. Now let's talk about the ramen...it was seriously some of the best I've ever had! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I came here for lunch today, and was welcomed right away. Yes, this place is also a Thai place, but they now have a ramen side to it. If you're getting ramen, you pick your broth, protein, and any additional veggies you want. You do have to pay extra for the additional veggies, but it's totally worth it! read more
