Absolutely love the food and service! Everyone is so kind as soon as soon as you walk in. It's nice and quiet, can be a bit busy in the evenings. If you sit at the ramen bar on slow days, the chefs talk to you which is nice! Love the ramen and fried rice! They make the noodles there as well. Truly sad to see how the food isn't the same anymore Firstly I enjoy their pork belly bowl so much but for some reason I had to put it in a to go box straight away and finish cooking it at home. It was honestly very flimsy and white (looked undercooked, honestly boiled). Barely any sesame oil or salt was tasted so I also had to add that at home. For the ramen, the last two times I went the broth was not very hot (temp wise), I also normally love the fact that the spice level has me sweating and my table agreed the spice level we ordered wasn't as spicy as were used to here?? The pork was cold and gelatinous, the chives were practically raw and I ended up fishing them all out and putting them to the side. Nitamago/egg can understandably be cold at times so I get that but overall I think the cold toppings cooled my broth down to an undesirable temperature which was my first complaint to begin with. Along with it not being spicy at all I just did not enjoy the meal. After coming here for the last six years and loving it, I can say the service here is superb and the staff is always attentive and friendly. This is a good ramen places to try in the South West area, but there's just something that is missing about it. I really used to like this place a few years ago but I have a feeling the quality may have dropped. The most notable thing I'd say which is definitely different than any other place is that they serve the pork and egg (sold separately) cold on top of your hot ramen. I like my ramen egg more yolky and soft boiled, but this one is more jammy and more towards hard boiled. I usually get tonkotsu but I got shoyu which was pretty good. The only thing I'd note is if you like spice, I suggest getting it on the side. I got level 4 shoyu and I could barely taste the broth by itself. So it may be more enjoyable to at least taste the broth by itself first before adding the spice. Other than that, this place is a pretty standard ramen joint that also makes their ramen noodles in house. If you are waiting, you can take a look at their ramen making machine. The location is pretty small where it may be perfect for eating solo or probably with a friend. read more

Ambiance: Located right off Durango near 215, it was very easy to find and parking wasn't an issue. Signage was clear. The interior is a bit small, but it honestly helped to give it that authentic Japanese restaurant vibe. We came early in the evening (5pm) on a weekday, and while they have a waitlist system, we did not have to wait to be seated. Service: Service was quick and very professional. We were greeted as soon as we came in, servers were helpful, and the ramen chefs in the kitchen were lively and cheerful. We were also wished well when we left, which was a nice touch. Food: The menu is simple and clear cut, with a variety of options without being overwhelming. As a side note I always appreciate quality over quantity, such as when you have a well-honed menu of really well-made items. I got the black garlic ramen (I love garlic) and it did not disappoint! We sat at the bar and were able to watch food being prepared. Tables filled up while we were there. Ordered ramen and it was good but nothing really stood out about it to me. I ordered spam musubi as an appetizer and it was great. We also ordered pan fried dumplings which were good. The yuzu baked cheesecake was a small slice but delicious. We stopped in for some ramen on a chilly evening and it was perfect. It's a small restaurant but we were seated right away at one of the tables. They also have plenty of bar style seating. Our server appeared promptly, was very friendly and had our orders taken straight away. The Gyoza was probably the best I've ever had. It tasted super fresh. I had the Shoyu Ramen, medium spicy and it was exactly what I needed. A little spicy but not too spicy, the noodles were delicious and everything tasted very fresh. We ordered the tsukemen which I'm aware is traditionally served cold. But the broth was served lukewarm at best which ruined the eating experience. Honestly it looked, tasted, and felt like they took the toppings straight out of the fridge. When asked to heat up they refused to accomodate. Noodles were fresh and I usually add a soft boiled egg. It had a nice creamy texture. I like some heat but I wanted to control the spice level so I asked for the chili oil on the side. Fried rice was good as well. It had egg, onion, and chopped chashu pork. Nice savory taste to it. They now had edamame which is a favorite of myself and some of my friends. They also have Happy Hour Combos from 11:30 - 6:00pm everyday. It's a great deal. Service is always great as usual. Always greeted and welcomed with an enthusiastic "IRASSHAIMASE"!!! This place is always clean and well organized. The servers are always friendly. Food always comes out in a timely manner. They have some type of system to where the food comes out quickly but the quality is not compromised. This place does get busy during peak times and u love the fact that they have the option on here YELP to join the waitlist so you can plan your visit accordingly. This is my absolute favorite place to eat. I've never had to wait to be seated unless it was busy and I wasn't wanting to sit at the bar. I've been here over a dozen times because I love it. As soon as you walk in they greet you and acknowledge you are there, if there is a table present they'll seat you there - if not, they'll ask if you'd be open to sitting at the bar. The food is absolutely savory and delicious - the chashu pork is sooooo soft which I much prefer over other ramen places where it can be chewy. My staple order is a tonkatsu ramen. I've had the chashu bowl, edamame, fried pork belly bowl and pan fried gyoza to which all are savory and delicious. I've never tried any other ramen so I can't review those. I always recommend Ramen Kobo to anyone asking about ramen! read more

Today, I went with my partner to Ramen KoBo and tried their limited edition Birria Ramen, and wow - we're big fans. I was skeptical at first. Not going to lie, lol. I thought it would be another marketing or trendy gimmick. Plus, I had doubts that a Japanese ramen shop could authentically make a complex, delicious and rich cultural item like Birria broth. Boy, oh boy was I in for a treat. The Birria Ramen exceeded all my expectations. It was delicious, tasty, rich, very well-presented and intentionally crafted by the staff at Ramen KoBo. It was so good that I'm already thinking about going again! Somehow, the noodles, broth, garnishes, including the side quesadilla just all worked seamlessly together. However, where Ramen KoBo really, really shined was their customer service. The staff - all of them - were warm, kind and so welcoming. They took time out of their day to interact, engage and answer any and all of our questions. Ramen KoBo, the staff at today's visit deserve a massive shoutout for their incredible work today. This is the only ramen spot I keep coming back to whenever I'm craving ramen. Their veggie ramen is absolutely incredible - flavorful, comforting, and definitely one of the best I've tried. I love how the broth is rich but not overly heavy, and the vegetables are always fresh and perfectly cooked. Ventured to the Southwest for a different meal and stumbled upon Kobo with an amazing discovery. Not only was the meal terrific, I learned that Kobo is part of the same restaurant group as, what I believe the be the original Vegas ramen spot, Monta. Not everyone in Vegas can fit into the Chinatown spot, so it only made sense to duplicate the experience in this other pocket of town. I love that Kobo's entrance has a clear view into the clean kitchen showing the area where noodles are made from scratch and stored. No wonder when I sat at the counter, noodles tasted so fresh. Even at the counter you can see the noodle masters assembling their works of art, just like the OG spot, Monta. Kobo has all the staples: Shoyu, Miso, and Tonkotsu. They even offer Tsukemen, which perhaps its cold-served noodles goes well during summer, but can certainly be enjoyed anytime of year. It was cold winter during my visit, so it was nice to have my bowl a little heat offering with a spice level mild (of original, mild, medium, hot, and fire). Great overall experience and safe to say I found my go-to SW Vegas ramen spot! read more

Overall enjoyed my experience here! This ramen place is small but very tidy and there was not a wait when we arrived at about noon. Service 5/5 - The service was fast. We were seated right away and did not wait too long for our food. Our server was also very kind and attentive! Food 2.5/5 - I got the tonkatsu ramen with Medium spicy on the side and an added egg ($1.5). I tasted the broth without the spice first and it was okay, a bit lacking in flavor and it had a VERY distinct ginger taste which made the whole bowl a bit odd. I love ginger, but it was more ginger than any other flavor. When I added the spice it was more like mild, so I requested the spicy (which is $1 more) and that definitely helped flavor up the broth and take away the strong ginger taste! The noodles in the ramen were really great, they were thick and chewy! Price - 4/5 the prices here are very fair! They set the price of the base ramen pretty low and you can add preferred toppings which brings the price to about the same (or even lower still) than other restaurants. I was really looking forward to trying Ramen Kobo because of their outstanding pictures here on Yelp!! As someone who grew up in Japan, I thought their ramen looked authentic and they probably knew how to make good ramen. Unfortunately, their pictures were misleading and reality was a huge disappointment. First, don't forget to reserve your spot for their waitlist on Yelp. If you don't have Yelp, or are from the older generation be prepared to wait a while. Yelp is a priority for this establishment! Second, the ramen. We ordered a bowl of ramen each, gyoza, and fried rice. The ramen came out and it was lukewarm. Despite ordering extra spicy, I did not have to blow my nose once.. having to blow your nose and being sweaty while eating a bowl of ramen is what's its all about. This ramens temperature was as if it's been sitting out on the counter for a while. If I didn't order the extra toppings of corn and egg, it would have been a very sad bowl of ramen. The chashu was great, but again very small.. They were very stingy and cheap with the toppings, the bamboo shoots thinly chopped, and beans sprouts were basically non existent. Also, when did Nori become an up charge as a topping????? Last, the sides. The sides same out when we were practically done with your meal. Again, lukewarm.The gyoza was very small.. you can buy better quality gyoza at Trader Joe's!! The fried rice barely had any meat or egg, it was just an expensive bowl of fried rice (literally just rice). I usually feel full and heavy after eating ramen but I actually left this place feeling hungry. The total including 20% tip was over $60. The miso ramen was just not it for me. The ground pork wasn't as flavorful as I expected, but the real bummer was the noodles- the texture didn't work. The texture was a little chewy and there was something about the flavor that I can't quite put my finger on, but I didn't love it.
