BUT it was a dark rainy night and heading to Gogyo felt perfect. We did not have reservations so we sat at the kitchen counter and were able to watch the kitchen dole out incredible amounts of perfectly prepared food, like a well oiled machine. It was truly amazing to watch. The food? Amazing. We started with the ahi carpaccio, which was delicious. I could have slurped up the rest of the sauce with a straw. My husband and I both ordered the same ramen (kogashi shoyu with double toppings) and it was divine. The broth had so many dimensions of flavor, the noodles were fresh and chewy, the egg was perfect, and the meat was flavorful and not overly fatty. The only reason I won't be back before the end of our visit to Sydney is because there are so many other places I want to try.

There are drinks, but no alcohol. They have a water station and a condiment station. Once you get your food, stop by the condiments and load up on what you want, all free! Cellphone signal was a bit choppy as the restaurant is on the lower ground level. There were two WiFi servers and needed clarification from another server which to sign on. Once I placed my order, my Gyoza was delivered within 5 minutes, few minutes later my Chicken Karaage Don was dropped second. Delicious and made fresh!!
