BUT it was a dark rainy night and heading to Gogyo felt perfect. We did not have reservations so we sat at the kitchen counter and were able to watch the kitchen dole out incredible amounts of perfectly prepared food, like a well oiled machine. It was truly amazing to watch. The food? Amazing. We started with the ahi carpaccio, which was delicious. I could have slurped up the rest of the sauce with a straw. My husband and I both ordered the same ramen (kogashi shoyu with double toppings) and it was divine. The broth had so many dimensions of flavor, the noodles were fresh and chewy, the egg was perfect, and the meat was flavorful and not overly fatty. The only reason I won't be back before the end of our visit to Sydney is because there are so many other places I want to try.

The takoyaki is a stand out for me, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. (will highly recommend it). My husband tried the Yasai ramen (vegetables) and it was really good. There are drinks, but no alcohol. They have a water station and a condiment station. Once you get your food, stop by the condiments and load up on what you want, all free!
