I tried the black garlic shoyu ramen and it was really good. Just a right amount of noodles for me and the soup is flavorful. The takoyaki is a stand out for me, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. (will highly recommend it). My husband tried the Yasai ramen (vegetables) and it was really good. The stir fry vegetables was yummy, I will definitely order that the next time. Overall, a good food dining experience. Maybe not the best ramen I had, but it's definitely worth trying :)

The place is small and the tables communal, but that makes the experience that much better! There is usually a line outside, but I find it moves rather quickly. Once inside, a nice hostess brings you to your seat and gives you a menu. After you decide what you want, you go to the window and order and pay. They give you a slip with a number and then you wait. There are drinks, but no alcohol. They have a water station and a condiment station. Once you get your food, stop by the condiments and load up on what you want, all free! Then, sit down and taste some of the best broth you have ever had! This palce is not fancy, but that's part of the charm- it is VERY Japanese- both the od and atmosphere. Enjoy!

For $13.90 a bowl a ramen, I'd expect it to have more than one piece of chashu...and a hot piece not a cold piece. It's $3.80 for 3 more pieces of chashu, meaning ~$18 for a bowl of ramen for 4 pieces of chashu. It would be a fair price if it were say Ippudo, but this place isn't even close. On top of that the egg was way overcooked. Meh. Manpuku takes a page out of Ramen Zundo's book and offers a Red (chili) and Black (soy) ramen and they also use bean sprouts and cabbage. Not necessarily bad, just different. The best part of the dish were the noodles since they're al dente...but overcooked egg, cold chashu, and a tepid broth make this place one I don't plan on frequenting again.

Just great. I…read moreconfess, i'm a bit of a purist when it comes to sushi, and Japanese food in general. I'm a fan of "simpler is better". I have to say, these guys complicate some of the dishes more than I need, but I have to say, what they come up with is truly inspired. If they add a little smoke flavor to something, it's so subtle that it's quite amazing. And they do it naturally - with flame, not fake things. The sashimi is fresh and wonderful, as is the Hamachi or Crudo. They do some sushi that has those different flavored mayonnaises involved, which is not really how I like sushi, but I had to admit the flavors were incredible. And the presentation was beautiful. The ramen was solid as well. The noodles were fresh and wonderful. I'd come here again.
