I'm glad that there is a Ramen 101 in Manteca. This is a pretty solid chain to get a pretty good bowl of ramen with several customizable options and a large selection of appetizers and other dishes. I usually go for the tonkatsu ramen with medium spicy broth, extra eggs and sometimes extra noodles. The broth is delicious, the pork is very tasty, and noodles have a very nice chew. The lumpia is a nice accompaniment and I often order the Spam Musubi. However, I noticed right away that there is a ton of rice in the musubi. A lot more than I'd prefer to have. I love rice, but I feel like the balance is a little off and it makes it a little harder to eat unless you can unhinge your jaw. It's a great place to get a hot bowl of soup this winter. The downside to this is that the place is so small that everyone gets chilled out when the door pops open and lets the cold wind and rain in. Won't be such a problem in warmer weather, but right now it's best you keep your sweater on at the table. I would love to give this a 4 star or higher, but I've been coming here quite a bit since they opened and they can't seem to nail the soft boiled egg. Maybe not such a big deal, but the egg is super important to me in this dish. I've been to the Riverbank, Modesto, and Stockton locations and the eggs are perfectly cooked there, giving it such a rich silky flavor. The last time I came here, it was almost there, but for the most part, the eggs are always fully hard boiled. Not a big enough deal to stop me from coming here, but it is a bit of a let down. Overall, I recommend this place for sure. My daughter loves ramen so we spend a lot of time here. read more

I would give this place a 2.5 stars. The ramen was honestly pretty bland which was surprising after seeing all these great reviews. The grilled chicken that was on top of the ramen was pretty good and kind of saved the day. The fried squid was hard as a rock and got sent back. The staff was nice and understanding though. The place is small and crammed. No room for strollers and you literally are touching elbow to elbow with the table next door. Ramen101 is a chain and I've eaten at several of them. They are consistent with their food quality, service and portion. If you're looking for a quick,simple bite to eat, especially on a cold evening, ramen seems to be universally held as one of those meals. Food was great the service was great and my nephew likes goyza's but not fried and they accommodate him without saying anything like that's not how there made. I had the shoyu ramen med heat since I have never been there but next time I'd go spicier. Med is like tapitio heat so not much for me but that would be my gauge for others who never been. So happy to have a ramen spot close to home. We just moved here from the Bay where there was also a Ramen 101 (San Leandro/Castro Valley). Coming out here we knew our choices in eateries would be more limited so when we saw Ramen 101 open we crossed our fingers that it wouldn't disappoint. And... it didn't! Ordered: Tonkatsu ramen, pork rib ramen, and spam musubi. If you order pick up through their website it's cheaper than using Doordash. We ordered and picked up in 10 minutes. Super easy. The to go portions are generous; they give a nice pile of noodles, had I ordered extra noodles I probably wouldn't have had enough broth lol. There was also a lot of meat and vegetables- so much that I ate half for dinner then packed the rest for lunch the next day. Minus one for the spam musubi. Super thin slice of spam and lots of rice that fell apart when we picked it up. It tasted good but honestly for the price and packing we probably should have just made this at home. We were having a lazy day so our fault here. Friendly service, easy to order, fair prices, good food - will be adding this to our fave local spots for sure. Congrats on the opening Ramen 101! Online ordering system was easy. It was ready for pickup when I arrived. Employees did not greet me when I got to the counter. I Smile, I say hello, cashier says absolutely nothing and stares at me dead in the face. I'm used to a total lack of customer service nowadays, but it's still worth noting. I follow up my own introduction to let them know I was picking up an order. They handed it to me. No have a nice day. Just a tight lipped smile. My husband had been sick for 3 days with food poisoning. Went in 4 days ago to try it out with our kids. The ramen was ok we had the black garlic and the chicken ramen. We also ordered tempura shrimp and the deadly fried oysters. Husband took one bite and said they're no good. None of us touched them. Monday morning he was starting to show signs of food poisoning. He has been so sick the last few days, vomiting, diarrhea, can't keep anything down, getting dehydrated. I'm pretty sure an ER visit may be next. Careful what you order. We will not be back. My husband enjoyed the unagi bowl as well. Main reason for my review is because the service is amazing, Victoria was super helpful and sweet. My husband and I were excited to try Ramen 101. We moved to Manteca from the Bay and there aren't many ramen places in Manteca. We ordered online and our order was ready for pick up within 15-20 minutes. When my husband arrived, the workers were flustered because the order ticket didn't print and our order wasn't made. It was a very busy evening too. However, they were able to put our order together after another 20 minutes making it a total of 40-45 minutes until we finally got our order. It's unfortunate this happened, and I'm not sure why the order ticket wasn't printed. Despite everything that happened with our order, the food was good. The second time we ordered online, it was for lunch and not as busy and our order was ready when I arrived. We decided to try the chicken karaage, but it was a bit dry. We did like the crab rangoons. Overall, this is definitely our current go-to ramen spot and we'll be ordering food from here again. read more

My family and I have dined here a couple times and have been satisfied with the food and service. It's a smallish restaurant that seats no more than 25 people or so. You order at the counter and seat yourself. I've tried their black garlic ramen and their pork rib ramen on separate occasions. The black garlic ramen had good flavor, tons of umami but I felt like it could be more garlicky. Noodles were cooked al dente, which I like and the pork pieces were nice and tender. The pork rib ramen was also pretty tasty, but definitely more pork in flavor. The rib was good, but I felt it was a little awkward to eat it with my ramen bowl. I guess it I prefer all the meat to be in smaller pieces to negate having to use my fingers to tear off the bone. Noodles were also cooked al dente. If you're looking to order an appetizer, the chicken karaage was good. It has a hint of heat/spice to it and is served with a dipping sauce.
